For twenty years my Dad lived alone. He always called Roman to help with plumbing repairs. We (Dad's out of state family) knew with certainty Roman would take great care of him. And Dad loved "visiting" with Roman. In Dad's later years, when he needed a bit more explanation of the plumbing issues, Roman was kind and patient with him. When it became time to sell Dad's house, we called Roman to fix the plumbing issues called out in the home inspection report. I came home from a vacation to no hot water. Not a happy camper. My hot water heater is tankless so that limited my plumber options. I went with Romans Plumbing based on reviews I read and I now want to add mine. He and his assistant came out that day and very patiently dealt with waiting to speak to a human on the phone at the supplier. My heater needed a new panel, which was covered under warranty. They were able to make an adjustment allowing me to have hot water until the panel came in. As soon as it arrived they were back completing the installation. Who knew plumbers now need to be electricians - there were so many wires to connect! Yet another great save by Roman! We have our HVAC system on a maintenance contract from a well regarded home service company. We've been very happy with their past service on our heating and cooling. However, they also do plumbing and offered us a free plumbing inspection and water heater flush. I had been doing the water heater flushes in the past, but decided to give them a try. The visit also included an inspection under the house of the supply and waste service. They came back with a shocking report of our 62 year old mostly cast iron waste system suffering from major corrosion and starting to leak. Their recommended action was to replace the waste system and they gave us an estimate of almost $17,000 to do the job. We asked Roman to come and give us a second opinion. He did and gave us a detailed report with pictures and said that he couldn't find any leaks and that the cast iron was sound with just the normal surface discoloration that would be expected in a 62 year old system. The only recommended action was to isolate some of the copper lines where they were in contact with the cast iron to prevent galvanic corrosion, this was as a result of a 20 year old bathroom remodel. He wrapped the pipes with thick electrical tape to provide the recommended isolation. He also found a few other minor issues that did not need any action (just poor craftsmanship 20 years ago from the bathroom remodeling contractor). One red flag that the home service plumber raised was the use of a section of Apache ABS pipe in one of the remodeled sections. Pipe from that manufacturer was recalled in the 1990s. However, Roman determined that that section of pipe was not suffering from the issue that caused the recall and no action was needed. Details: The bad Apache ABS reacted to the glue used to connect it. The failures that occurred happened early in the life of that connection. Roman found the Apache pipe and connection quite sound. Conclusion, this pipe was not suffering from the problem that caused the recall. So major expense averted! Thanks again for the great service Roman! read more

We recently had bathroom sink drains that were completely clogged. Romans team was able to fit us into the schedule quickly even though they were extremely busy. Roman and his assistant did an amazing job and resolved the issue for a fair price. Romans helped us with replacement of our older water heater. They were easy to schedule, on time, gave us great advice, did a wonderful job, and taught us how to use it. But we forgot we needed an annual flushing! You'd done research and knew it'd be an expensive undertaking but you had a plumbing contractor who'd done work in your home in the past and you felt confident you'd get a fair price and a first-rate professional job. But, oops, the electrical contractor higher than expected estimate and the building permit costs put the project out of budget. Like I said, an expensive undertaking ... Then your go-to plumbing guy voluntarily re-estimated using a modest product downgrade and voila!, the project was again GO! Then came that daunting pathology report, attendant treatment costs, time away from work, all of which mandated STOP! So you called off the plumbing contractor, the electrical contractor, withdrew the building permits, and figured that was that ... Then one morning your phone rings: "Hi, it's Roman. How're you feeling? My wife and I've discussed it and we're going ahead with your project and there's no charge. Expect the electrical contractor first thing Friday morning then we'll follow right after with the plumbing installation. We're taking care of it all. Okay?" I contacted Roman's Plumbing along with 3 other plumbing contractors that advertised serving Sonoma County for a hot water recirculating system installation in my Oakmont 2 bathroom home. I arranged an assessment appointment with Roman's needing an experienced evaluation and estimate for the best way to proceed. Jay showed up on schedule and on time, walked me through my options with good explanations, including a tankless system. I opted for his recommended system, signed the work order and then had another positive experience dealing with Monica in their office. I've been using Roman's since 2011, when my water main sprang a leak. Roman's has always been honest, and I value that highly. They do great work and take the time to explain their charges up front and what they're going to do. The first time they needed to clean out my kitchen pipes, they recommended they install a cleanout. I took that recommendation and have been super happy I did. Whenever they need to come clean out my kitchen pipes, it takes them so much less time (and therefore saves me money). This year, I needed another kitchen cleanout (or thought I did) and was wary because of COVID. Because I'm in the vulnerable population for several reasons, my daughter and I started self-isolating in February, and take every precaution. I needn't have worried--Roman's did everything they could to help prevent exposure. If you have a plumbing problem, consider Roman's first. read more

I have been using Roman's Plumbing for 10 or 15 years now. They have always been outstanding to work with. I usually do not do Yelp reviews, but what they did for me last week was so truly remarkable, that I had to write this review. What happened is that last Thursday at about 4:30 p.m. my tenant at my rental house told me they did not have any hot water. I immediately called Roman's. They sent Roman himself down to help me after hours. Turned out my tankless water heater had died. As you can imagine, my tenants were displeased at the prospect of having no hot water for the weekend. Well, Roman's came through!! Charged by the hour and tried doing the same thing over and over for 3 hours with no results! Also carried the filthy, dripping snake through my house with nothing protecting my floors and made a mess everywhere. Left disgusting wipes pulled from the sewage pipe laying on my lawn and left behind their drain snake when they left! I paid $770 for all this!!! I needed a water pressure reducer and plug in the line that sends water out from the dishwasher and a new water heater. The quality of the work was excellent for all these needs.
