I don't know where to start with these guys - if you need a plumber in Sonoma or Marin counties - these are your guys! They really are as good as it gets! I have a house in Santa Rosa and a house in Novato and they have been doing work on both of my houses. Unlike any other plumbers I called - they are happy to come out and give you a FREE estimate to do the work and you are not then tied into doing business with them if you don't want to. All the other plumbers I called wanted to be paid to come out - and then you are hooked and usually pay them to do the work because you have already put money into it..... Roman's pluming is not like that at all - they want you to choose them with no strings attached so they come out to do free estimates. Here is an example of how HONEST they are. I called them to give me a quote on lowering a water heater. I told them that I had a lot of other work that needed doing - but would only be done when the water heater was lowered. They came back and proved to me that the water heater didn't need lowering (which got the City off my back) and they understood that it meant I wouldn't be able to do any of the other stuff. So basically they gave up a lot of money just to be honest....... or so they thought. I ended up being able to do the other work a few weeks later and guess who I chose to do the work? Roman's Pluming all the way! They are not the cheapest - that much is true. But honestly - being the cheapest isn't always what you want. Roman's is a well run company and the office people are wonderful and OVER helpful and a joy to talk to. If you have any questions you can always call the office and if the don't know the answer they might just get Roman on the phone with you (or call you back shortly with the answer). Roman himself is AWESOME - it is no wonder that he is able to run such an amazing company. He came out to finish a job on a weekend when he realized he was short on an item we needed. If you get Roman doing your job you are very fortunate. Of course he has many other employees who also do great work....... I really can't rave any more about them.. HIRE them, you won't be sorry! The problem with them having such amazing reviews from all their customers is that they are very busy! But they will usually squeeze you in when they can. But ideally give them some advance notice! October, 2015: Looks like I'm joining the club rating Roman's Plumbing at 5 stars. There is not a single criticism or suggestion I can offer; Roman's deserves all the 5-star ratings as every member of their staff is professional, efficient, courteous, competent, and expedient. They are fair-priced; my technician (Marcel) treated my home like it was his own and the job was completed correctly the first time. I could go on and on, but you get the point! Roman's is for certain our exclusive plumbing service. April, 2018: It's always nice to get the chance to verify your initial impression of a company, and Roman's Plumbing, not surprisingly, validated my initial impression in stellar fashion! Our initial call to Roman's in 2015 surrounded an overflowing kitchen sink, caused by a clog in the kitchen waste pipe, which prevented upstairs shower water not to exit as designed, and instead to flow and overwhelm the kitchen sink. Marcel had instructed me how to alleviate the buildup in the kitchen pipes if this happened again, and thankfully I had that knowledge when the kitchen sink again exhibited an epic clog the past April. One call to Roman's had us on the calendar 4 days later, but that was not really an inconvenience because of the information I had from Marcel from the last time. Thinking the clog was related, Roman's investigated without charge and quickly discovered broken suspension straps for the kitchen waste line, causing it to sag and build up. I had to leave the premises during the job, but the Roman's team generated an estimated cost, and I left a check; the job amount exceeded the check amount, so Roman's called back for a follow-up payment; no biggie. The house looked perfect when I returned and the plumbing operates flawlessly, as expected. The team left me pics of the before and after work, and the whole process was painless, timely, and efficient. I would just be repeating myself if I said "5 stars" again, so let's go with 6! My resolution for the new year is to write the Yelp reviews I never got around to. You know which ones they are - the one's that aren't all happy smiley. So I need to do the plumbing review that I've avoided. The company is Roman's Plumbing, and his Yelp reviews are top-notch. My situation: my old home's single toilet flushed weakly, and it seemed like something I should invest in fixing, before it became a real problem. I called, and by luck, got on Roman Plumbing's schedule quickly. The next day Roman himself showed up, with a laborer/assistant. We first went into the basement, checking-out the wastewater run and Roman seemed smart as a whip. (Note: what I've learned from other remodels is that plumbing is an art; it's not unskilled labor.) Roman went outside, where the wastewater left the house, and dropped a cleaning snake into the cleanout; he seemed to quickly hit something. He told me that there seemed to be a block just one or two feet past the cleanout, and added that some kid might have unscrewed the cap and thrown a rock in, or something. Whatever it was, he told me he had damaged a tip, and couldn't break through it. I explained that I needed a solution, and he said that IF I could get the next 4 feet or so of the outside pipe exposed (meaning dirt removed from above, sides and below), he'd try to get back later in the day, and replace the blocked portion. I was grateful, so I agreed. I paid $225 for this first visit, and started digging. Wow - incredibly hard rocky soil, but the pipe was exposed when Roman made it back. He ran a pipe cutter under the near and far side of the block area, and quickly lifted-out that piece of pipe. There was no block in it. Huh? He had no response. He ran his snake from this new access, and pulled-out a thick tangle of fine roots 10 or 12 feet further along the pipe. He ran his camera to that point, and showed me on the screen that there was plenty more hair-like root, plus what looked like a slight misalignment between two sections of pipe. That could explain how the root hairs were getting in the pipe. He then said that he didn't have the correct bit to clean this portion, because the misalignment made it trickier. Hmmm... OK, I've spent $225 to get my toilet draining better, and it's not clear that the problem has been solved. Here's where the story is going. As he packs-up, he prepares an invoice for another $375. I'm stunned. Roman's smart and likeable, but what's going on? He even had the audacity to write "charged time only" on the new invoice. I spoke up, expressing my dissatisfaction, and asked him how this second visit could be $375. The said something about the two of them, then offered to back out his assistant, and the assistant's $170 an hour. THAT'S what pisses me off, more than a half-year later. Watching his assistant work, and watching the level of instruction that that assistant received, my guess was that Roman could have picked him up in the Home Depot parking lot earlier that day. He sure as well wasn't paying this assistant more than $20 an hour, and yet his offer to me was to back-out the assistant's $170 rate. In the end I paid another $180, totaling $405 for an incomplete cleaning of the sewerage run (the hours of needless trenching was technically no-cost, since that was my labor). I expect that Roman is a great plumber. But I feel taken. Roman, when you fail -- and everyone fails from time to time - think about the homeowner, and what's fair to him/her. I'm writing this review because I believe in transparency and honesty when it comes to service, good or bad. I am new to the area and have not had a need for a plumber until recently. I used yelp in the hope I could get some sway with who might be good to use in the local area. I came across Roman's yelp page and their rating along with the number of reviews was both high enough to turn my attention. I called for a quote and I spoke with their office, the Lady who answered was very polite and was able to set up an appointment for an estimator to visit the next day. They are very good at communicating, they took my email address and phone number and called me on the day of the appointment to let me know they were running ahead of schedule and could come earlier - unfortunately I couldn't make it home fast enough! They seem to use an online system that emails me when the plumber is on their way and once the job is finished, it comes with the invoice - very cool I thought. The estimator was very professional, quick and wrote up a review there and then. It was shortly followed up by an email quote which must have been sent to me 15 minutes after he left. Given the estimate I received in my hand was hand written, his office presumably wrote it up straight away which tells me their field staff are in good communication with their office. The job itself took less time than they anticipated and the plumber who performed the work brought an apprentice, both very well presented, professional and courteous. The estimator and plumber and his apprentice all placed covers on their shoes when they entered my house and laid down a piece of cardboard first before placing their tools on my kitchen floor. Small things like this show me they are dedicated to paying attention to the details, consideration to the customer and the environment they are working in. Overall, very happy with the service received from Roman's. My experience with them was flawless. read more

These guys (and gals) are the best! I've been using their services for well over a year. They were a contractor on my master bath remodel last year - which turned out awesome. They always had great insight and information on what was the correct direction to go, including a very difficult side mount bath tub valve. They have been my FIRST call on every plumbing problem I've had since, and there have been plenty. Including installing a new toilet and most recently a leaking garbage disposal. They are always on time and pricing is great. But most important to me is their level of service. Being in a service industry myself it is very important to me. I called Roman's because of a statement they made in the directory that "they take pride in their honesty". They went above and beyond what was expected.
