I ordered a old world pepperoni pizza with mushrooms and black olives. - The pizza arrived cold!! - The topping we uneven, skimpy and scattered. You can see in the photo that I attached that the black olives are mostly on a couple of slices of pizza while the rest of pizza has hardly any. This is just plain LAZY! First-time customer of Romeo's, which I ordered for delivery. I have been craving this style of pizza lately! I know a lot of pizza snobs will claim that this isn't even pizza anymore, but I disagree. It has all the components of pizza and then some. I went with spinach, meatballs, and caramelized onions for my 'toppings', even though they aren't on top. The crust was a little crispy, but I did heat it up again so that could have been the reason. The toppings were good, though there could have been a little more spinach. The one thing that we didn't like was the sauce-- it's definitely a little too sweet for my taste for sure. It was also served with a side of sauce labeled capone sauce, which wasn't my favorite. It's almost like a spicy ranch or something, but it almost made the pizza sauce taste even sweeter when paired. Overall the pizza was pretty good and the leftovers did get eaten, but I would love to see a change in the pizza sauce recipe. read more

However, over the holidays I found myself craving a Chicago style deep dish pizza and after a little digging around, I discovered they had one and I decided to give it a try. I ordered for delivery and got a small pizza with banana peppers. I was shocked at how quickly it arrived, especially knowing that these take a little longer to cook. The delivery driver thought it was ok to travel with a pizza vertically so when it arrived, it didn't look very nice. The entire pizza was smashed with sauce on the top of the box and the pizza was all squished to one side. Very annoying but that was the Doordashers fault, not theirs. The sauce here is sweet so some crushed red pepper flakes were must. Other than that it was pretty good. I wish the crust was more caramelized but for being an Ohio pizza place, it'll do. read more

Had Romeo's for the first time yesterday for a work lunch party. Tried the thick and thin crust and really liked both. All the pies were consistent and the sauce has a nice sweet flavor without that acidic taste you can sometimes get at a fast food pie chain. I want to love Romeo's pizza. I keep trying, I really do...but I just don't. Tried it again last night. Salad, pepperoni pizza, medium wings, and cinnamon bread. The cinnamon bread was the winner out of the bunch. Everything else is super average. The Capone sauce is OK...sort of like Frank's and garlic sauce. The garlic sauce isn't nearly as good as Papa John's...tasted of straight up oil. Next time, I will go with someone else. Sorry, Romeo's. Ya basic. On the plus side, my delivery driver was so sweet! If I'm honest I had never had Romeo's Pizza let alone heard of it. Then recently Cam Atkinson teamed up with Romeo's Pizza and ever since it has been on my radar. Yesterday we decided to try it out for the first time for lunch. We placed our order online. My fiance went with the Original Meat Stromboli and I ordered a small cauliflower pizza with (reg pizza) cheese, olives, red onions, and mushrooms. After clicking purchase our order was quoted as being ready for pick up in 15 mins, so super quick. We hopped in the truck and headed to Grandview to pick it up. There was one visible employee in the pizza kitchen when we arrived. She already had our orders boxed up and waiting. So the transaction to no time. The entire process was incredibly quick. We hopped back in the truck and headed home to eat our hot lunch. The aromas filling the cab of the truck were mouthwatering. I could not wait to get home. When we walked in the door we settled in to eat our perspective lunches. I noticed that my box had a sticker on it that said Attention, Romeo's pizza gluten free crust is prepared in our kitchen where gluten is present. It has an additional statement but it is not important for this review. The point I'm trying to make is, this is the first time I am EVER having Romeo's pizza, so I am uncertain if they put that sticker also on their cauliflower crust pizzas or if the pizza I got was actually a gluten free crust as oppose to the cauliflower crust that I had ordered. I do not know to this moment. What I do know is that my pizza was absolutely amazing!!! I truly loved it!!! Way more than I expected. I just really wish I knew which crust my pizza was on. I wanted to try the cauliflower pizza crust, and I am not convinced that I did. I also want to note that so many pizza places do not offer red onion, and I was beyond thrilled to be able to get red onion pizza on my Romeo's pizza. It truly MADE the pizza for me. I am hoping to order again in the future from Romeo's and I am certain I will get to the bottom of this pizza crust debate. read more

My buddy and I ordered carry out last night for my first time with Romeo's. He orders it every weekend and I just had to try it. After reading some reviews with delivery issues, we decided to carry it out. We placed the order and it was done in about 20 mins - hot, fresh, and beautiful. I've gotta say, he wasn't wrong - it was really delicious! I knew to anticipate a sweet sauce and it was but I didn't think it was overpoweringly sweet like some reviews said. I also loved dipping it in the Capone sauce (also tasty and a bit sweet). I wish I had crushed red pepper flakes around - I think that would've leveled it up a bit. This sauce is just so overwhelming in not a good way. It's like they poured vats of sugar into their pizza sauce mix. I couldn't taste the cheese or the pepperoni that was on it, just overwhelmed by this non-diabetic friendly sauce. Garlic bread is hard to screw up, but not much flavor to it. If you want pizza from a sub-par chain then look no further. The meatball sub I received from here was beyond terrible, and there was really only two things they needed to do: 1. Don't burn the balls 2. Add SOME cheese Otherwise this would have been an "acceptable" sandwich, but turned out to be a a couple of charcol nuggets with an apathetic ladle of sauce on stale bread. Don't make the same mistake as I did. There's a handful of better pizza in the area, and this is a far cry from Rotolo's or even Pizza Hut. #yikes read more

This pizza is pretty good! I've tried it twice, I thought I loved it but for some reason I just don't love it. It could be because the sauce is sweeter than I prefer, I just easily tired of it. I tried the buffalo chicken pizza and added onions and was pretty impressed! I also had Dante's Peak add black olives. I ended up liking the buffalo chicken better than the Dante's Peak. I felt like the sausages were big and spicy and had an overwhelming flavor, which is appealing to some people. More for you as for next time, I'll do without those. Plenty of toppings! If you love toppings and sweet sauce then this is for you. I just can't handle that sweet red sauce after the first piece, especially mixed with the spicy sausage pieces... I honestly don't think I'll get this again. I liked it a lot, but didn't love it like I hoped. The people were nice enough, if not a bit lazy-looking. One girl was biting her nails, but she wasn't the one making food (at least that I saw). The guy working there that looked like the manager seemed eager to please and was very, very kind. If I ordered from here again I'd probably go with a "less-is-more" tactic that I enjoyed a bit more on my first visit where I had a decent pepperoni and black olive pizza. Don't knock the buffalo chicken, I would recommend trying it! I have a feeling that this is a place that, while I don't care for it so much, deserves some recognition that a lot of people will probably really enjoy it! Loved it! We got the Buffalo chicken pizza, replaced the regular cheese with the **reaper** cheese, and a swirl of Buffalo on top. It's absolutely delicious, really nice spice. Next time I would get both the regular cheese and the habanero, but that was just user error on my part! The ranch sauce on the pizza is really good, I'm not a huge ranch fan and it's not overwhelming but very tasty, so I'm thrilled. The Capone sauce is really interesting, I don't even know how to describe it, it's both sweet and zesty, definitely worth trying. The delivery was on time and they offer contactless. Romeo's on 5th in Grandview caught my eye coming out of Fortin across the street. Saturday late afternoon and no food plans, I took a shot. Not a dine-in place, Romeo's is delivery and pick-up. Orders were light on for 4pm on Saturday (I thought). Calm before the storm or poor product/service? I was greeted well and shown a menu. My order was a personal size pizza with extra thin crust which, I was told, their crusts are homemade - no frozen crust. I chose the Veggie. Told it would take 10 minutes. I waited in my car and at 9 minutes returned; told it was coming out fresh and they were true to their word. Crust is sweet to taste, like nothing I'd tasted and at the end I loved it. The veggies were sensational. All fresh as could be. Chunky tomatoes and mushrooms. Good black olives and peppers. It really worked well even though being so fresh did not make them pizza hot. But I'm a fresh veggie guy so cool was fine. Here's why not 5. If this pizza was delivered my guess is it would hold up well. The veggies would be shaken off the top and the thin crust squares would break apart - quite sure of it. I'm going to try one of their thicker crusts and a meat lover style. I can't remember the last time I tasted a pizza and thought to myself "I never want to eat that again." Well, I never want to eat Romeo's Pizza again. Our experience didn't get off to a good start. The boy called to make the order & the person answering the phone had no clue what to do. He said it was the first order he'd ever taken. Needless to say, we checked our pizzas before we left the parking lot to make sure they were correct (and they were). As soon as I got into the car with the pizzas the boy remarked how sweet they smelled, was I sure we didn't get some kind of dessert pizza. I must state that my pizza looked disgusting. I ordered cheese with ground beef. I have ordered it before at many pizza places - Grandad's, Panzera's, Papa Johns, Larosas (Cincinnati), etc. Never have I seen a ground beef pizza like this. My "ground beef" looked like rabbit pellets. Yes, it looked like a rabbit relieved himself on my pizza. Obviously after seeing my pizza, I was incredibly hungry (or not). I decided to eat it though and ignore the pellets. My first bite wasn't quite as bad as my first look, but it still wasn't good. The sweet aroma coming from the pizzas was the ultra-sugary sauce. Now I've had some sugary tasting sauces before (Larosa's), but this was too much and just downright bad. The boy wasn't too pleased with his supreme pizza, but none of his toppings looked like pellets. I'd never had Romeo's before this and definitely never will again. There are too many good pizza places in Grandview to give Romeo's your hard-earned money. Stay away! read more

Love the delivery guy who delivered my food. He was funny and sweet and you could tell he genuinely loves his job. He gave me tons of coupons and these scratch off tickets that revealed that I won two free pizzas! How awesome is that? I ordered the garlic bread with cheese and the New York white pizza. I was born and grew up in New York so when it comes to pizza, I'm pretty picky. The garlic bread with cheese is so good. It was cheap and they give you quite a lot. The New York white pizza was also delicious. I dipped it in the sauce they gave with the garlic bread and oh my god. I've never tasted sauce like this before from a pizza place. It's definitely sweet but since I have the biggest sweet tooth, I actually loved it. It's awesome with the savory pizza. It's something different and it's something that works. The dough they use for the pizza is awesome as well as these cheeses they used for this particular pizza. White pizza is my favorite kind of pizza and this was definitely a top contender. I took a star off just because I ordered the small pizza which obviously was pretty small like a personal size and it was over 10 bucks which I think is a little pricey for such a small pizza.
