When we finally got a hold of him he apologized and agreed to fix our toilet but again, he never showed up! Fred Romero is an honorable and pro plumber. He's moved pipes for me, installed a water heater, toilets, and faucets. But competence isn't what makes Fred unique. There are many skilled plumbers out there but I don't know any as kind as Fred. On more than one occasion he's come to my house, fixed a simple problem, and charged me little to nothing. As promised, here's an update. After I called and texted Fred multiples times, he finally responded and came out again. When he arrived, he apologized profusely. He seems like such a sweet "dad-like" person, but that's not enough when it comes to plumbing issues. I'll give him 4 stars for trying to fix the bigger mess he left behind the first time (and he also scrubbed most of the rust stains away) but still give 1 star for the lack of responsiveness and the remaining leak still present. He said if it was still leaking to give him a call and he'd come out again but there's no way I'm going through that again. I really hope he figures out a better way to manage his business and also be better prepared to fix a toilet. read more

I had called a different plumbing company to fix my backed up bathtubs. They were a no call no show so I ended up calling Romero's Plumbing Service. When I called a man answered right away and set up an appointment for the next day. They arrived promptly when they said they would and fixed the major clogs without having to remove either tubes. The man that came was very courteous and knowledgeable about what needed to be done to fix the problem. After 2 hours of work the clogs sending the snakes down both sets of pipes the clogs were fixed. They charged reasonable for the amount of work they did. This guy doesn't return phone calls. His helpers are rude and one of them broke a sprinkler pipe that he busted while trenching to replace the "water main coming from the street" that broke one night. They also installed a water pump to pump out all the water that collects under the house. His helpers installed a pvc pipe to direct the water out from under the house and end it at the edge of the house. Nice, so now the water soaks into the lawn and collects under the house again. All he had to do was trench accross the lawn and end the pipe in the concrete drainage ditch. read more

I called Fred Romero to get a bid on plumbing a new house completely that I had under construction. Romero's came highly recommended by a friend who used them for a copper re-pipe job in her home. Fred came over as scheduled and took the floor plans for the home and had a bid back to me within a week. The bid was fair and much better than some provided by the larger companies. They immediately started work and passed inspection about 3 weeks later. Fred and his workers have been very professional and do excellent work. They have been able to keep all the sewer pipes in the floor trusses without any soffits. This is much more elegant than what I seen in the past. There haven't been any delays but I can understand a delay if they have a customer with a plumbing emergency. They have followed all of my suggestions including limiting the roof vents to 2 to reduce penetrations or interfering with solar panels in the future. Romero's Plumbing fixed our water heater last fall and went way beyond what I expected in service. He came over in the middle of the night after I called him. The heater was leaking so badly that water was running down our carpeted hallway. He came over just to help shut it off and help mop it up and secure the scene and then came back the next day to replace the water heater. This was a difficult job with an older heater that was very hard to replace because of an awkward fit in a small, inside closet area. They did come late because they became backed up at an earlier job, but I think with the level of service that was provided that it is understandable that some jobs run longer than anticipated. I think he did a great job and I appreciate all the work he put into getting the new water heater installed. read more
