Interior of Ronan is dark & mysterious. A Gothic feel yet also feels like a man cave full of interesting liquors and liqueurs to savour before or after a satisfying meal. There is a Stamtisch hewn out of a tall noble tree from some primeval forest for large groups as well as booths, high seat bar, patio seating. Very chefly cuisine in the guise of earthy, multi-textural, comforting food that has subtle, haute cuisine touches. Chef Daniel Cutler is quietly passionate that shows in small details and gustatory flourishes that make for a good evening supper with Italianate twists. Rodrigo is an excellent mixologist & wine connaisseur. He can clue you in to what would be a great pairing w/ the ordered foods, and great person to get information. He is the bridge between the food coming out of the kitchen and the libations if you sit at the bar. 1) Arancini di Funghi: Rice balls stuffed w/ Maitakè (mah ee tah keh) mushrooms, purée of Tartufo Nero/black truffle that still has a good dose of funky, earthy pungency even off season. Stringy mozzarella adds dairy creaminess. Truffle honey increases the pungency with sprinkling of powdered Parmigiano Reggiano. Great left field take on a classic piatto Italiano. 2) Pizza Catarina: Crust is not too thick & has puffy, dry, leathery surface; moist, soft inside. Bit of starchy sweetness. Pièce de Résistance is the Fennel infused Salame from Bologna, Pecorino Toscano, fennel pollen, wild Ruccola/arrugula. I love fennel & have them growing in my back yard. After ravaging the pizza for its porky Sausage meatiness, the licorice-fennel scent and flavour has a long lasting finish. Visiting in March 2026, Wines produced by female winemakers are 30% off on "Women in Wine Wednesdays" Love how Ronan supports women vintners! 1-2a) Vermentino, Ryme, HERS, 2023, Sonoma CA: Rather astringent, acidic-sour, lemon, kumquat peel, pronounced minerality, substantial body. This version of Vermentino is assertive & packs a punch. Ryme white wine could definitely stand up to the truffle and fermented, fennel salame with aplomb. 3) Persian cucumbers: Fresh mélange of Italian parsley, shaved ribbons of rough fennel, mint, dill leaf, vivid red, mild Calabrian red chile. Gentle, creamy Italian dressing. Great starter to refresh the mouth or as a palate cleanser between bites of other main courses. Tried to order a side dish of avocado. Ronan's kitchen had none, but a bearded helper suggested their Sambal Oelek, crushed red chiles to intensify the salad which worked beautifully. 4) Whole Jidori Chicken: Roasted w/ crispy , fatty skin, mild herbal rub w/ licorice fennel pollen. Meaty, moist, even the breast doesn't have the usual dry, mealy texture. I suspect the chicken was salt brined to good effect. Underneath there is a bed of rough chopped green olive Tapenade which adds a mild salty, aged, cured earthiness & evoo for a slight buttery undertone. The unusual finisher was bushy stems of bitter, fibrous, green watercress lashed on top of of the chicken as a contrast to all the meatiness. Better deal to get the whole roast chicken vs a half. It's $37.50 vs $52. I had some great leftovers to make Taco de Pollo, Chicken Salad, Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken Salad sandwich without having to use a hot oven straining my central air. Cold chicken by itself with the Tapenade made for a tasty midnight snack. 4a) Lonely Warrior Cocktail suggested by Rodrigo was spot on. Toki Japanese Suntory Whiskey & Baller Single Malt Scotch added sweet, smokey, caramel-vanila. Rucolino Amaro: Wild arugula leaves, citrus peels, roots, secret botanicals by Ischia Sapori on the volcanic island of Ischia in Campania. Angeleno Amaro: California-style bitter liqueur crafted by Ventura Spirits, featuring bright Valencia orange zest, gentle chamomile, and earthy gentian root. Demerara syrup is a rich, flavorful simple syrup made by dissolving Demerara sugar in water, typically using a 2:1 sugar-to-water ratio by weight. This raw, minimally processed cane sugar imparts a deep caramel, toffee-like flavor. 5) Tiramisù: Made with Savoiardi/light, airy lady finger pastry; copious amount of sweetened whipped, creamy Mascarpone cheese; a soupçon of strong Espresso. This serving is GINORMOUS, enough for three people. (no complaints). For the leftover Tiramisù, I drizzled on Kalua coffee liqueur & sprinkled crushed Pecans at home. 6) House Made Ice Cream: a) Satsuma Mandarin: Japanese varietal tangerine that is creamy yet tart with citric acid. Refreshing after a full meal. b) Coffee Oreo: Bitter coffee and semi-sweet chocolate in a rich vanilla scented ice cream. Coming from someone who usually finds trendy Italian places overpriced, I found Ronan to be a pleasant surprise. Pizzas being their specialty the sweet cheeks was the standout. We also got the carrots and Persian cucumbers which were delicious to start. The arancini was surprisingly gooey in the middle in a good way. From the kind hostess greeting, being seated where requested, to bartender interactions, service, food, and all, the end to end experience was on point. We ordered a variety of items: wood-fired focaccia, kanpachi crudo, steak tartare, senor carrots, and a margherita pizza. Each of the items was delicious. Agreed with consensus on the wood-fired focaccia with cultured butter - this one is a must order. The kanpachi crudo had a burst of flavor and the margherita pizza was tasty though the undercarriage was a bit soggy. Had quite a pleasant time at this Neapolitan style pizza joint. We elected to dine outdoors because it was a nice evening, but the indoor seating also looked very popular. The service was very friendly. Our waitress was eager to share popular menu options with us, even asking if we were leaning towards a meat or vegetarian pizza. We got two suggestions for meat pizzas, which were quite delicious. The sides were also fantastic, we got the roasted carrots which sit on top of a tasty yogurt sauce. We also got the focaccia bread with a side of burrata cheese which was delicious. We finally got a tiramisu which was the icing on the cake. It was rich in flavor yet still light and easy to share. My only complaint is the 4% "healthcare" charge that we discovered on the final bill. I get that all costs are eventually passed on to the consumer, but maybe just increase the menu prices instead? Went with Aryeh for a bite before the comedy store on Saturday night. We started with some dirty martinis & a French 36 (that supposedly tasted just like a paper plane). We also tried the Chef's Manhattan and a carafe of the orange skin contact wine, which were all great. We got the arancini, which was honestly the best I've ever had and I loved the mushroom add in. We also got the crudo. Aryeh doesn't like tomatoes so big win that he liked the sun-dried ones but I wasn't impressed with the fish. Unfortunately, the pizza flavoring was also miss and it was a little odd that the pizza wasn't cut either. Service was just okay and we sat outside which was definitely not as vibey as indoors. The kingfish crudo were a medium thick cut & fresh - it was refreshing with the sun gold tomatoes. The wood-fired focaccia is a tall, thick square & was especially tasty with the anchovy & butter. The arancini came in 3 crispy pieces. The Señor carrots were delicious- as a veggie dish I was so happy with the favors & the dish. We ordered one red & one white sauce pizza. Great food and great service! The restaurant itself is small, intimate, and dim-lit (hence the poor photo quality). We were sat at the bar area where our bartender/server shared her recommendations. There was no valet guy present or stand. We pulled in and parked in empty spot & started walking to restaurant only to be chased down by a person. We weren't sure if it was a scam, he wanted our keys and money to park our already unattended parked car, which we selfed parked. He threatened to tow us if we didn't pay him, was not about to hand my keys to unidentified man. So my husband move car to the free open street parking next door. Perfectly flavored, perfect texture, perfect aromas, I'd come back only for this appetizer alone. Fluffy, light, airy, moist and all the good feelings you get when you take the first bite. Caesar Salad was great! On the saltier side but LOVED the use of whole sardines. Tartare was a highlight, I'd also order this one again. The combination and the chili oil were unique yet worked so well. Pizzas: I love sweet and savory so the sweet cheeks wins my heart every time. The honey and pork cheek with ricotta combo is unbeatable. The other pizzas are great too but this is the most balanced. Crush is chewy and flaky but crispy on the outside. It wasn't our personal favorite but only because the honey overpowered the savoy part. We really wish maybe a small kick was added to it. Margarita pizza:this was a classic to try but it was on the saltier side granted my taste profile might be different than others. The dough is nice but just a tad bit too salty Broccoli: cooked so well it does pair well with the mint leaves. The arancini were just kinda ok (get rid of the honey please and go more traditional). Caesar was fire! Our 3 pizzas were devoured with the margherita being the fav, follower by the spicy chomper. Dined here for the Chase Sapphire Reserve restaurant benefit. Make a reservation on Open Table (restaurant gets filled). They are dog friendly!! :) The patio is heated. Parking: They have a small lot but otherwise you'll need to street park. Parking is enforced at all times, including Sundays. Read the signs. Some of the credit card holders didn't work so best to bring quarters if you can. It's $1.50 an hour. I would allow 1.5 hours to eat minimum. What we ordered: Cesar salad: Yes there are anchovies but it's taste amazing. It is a bit heavy on the dressing but I love it. Senor Carrots: I loved it. It's carrots with honeycomb and yogurt. The yogurt is delicious. The carrots are warm. Sweet Cheeks Pizza: This one is meh. The guanciale is salty so the pizza itself is a bit heavy. I didn't like it but my husband loved it. Zucca Pizza (to go): We ordered this one to go for next day dinner. It was AMAZING. The flavors are light and they go well. They also separated the cheese for me so all you have to do is add it on. The one complaint is that the crust was kinda too burnt for me. I read a couple reviews that the pizza is soggy. It's not soggy, it's because they use sourdough so the crust is soft and chewy. I like this compared to those pizzas that have the crispy hard crusts. Persimmon ice cream: Not good. I didn't like the flavor ... and it was very strong alcoholic taste. I swapped it for the basque cheesecake, which is a MUST GET. We ended up getting the cheesecake to go because I was too full. We also got a ginger mocktail. It was alright nothing special. I would save the $14 for a food item. Service was super friendly. There is an additional 4% "healthcare fee" they tack onto the bill at the end but you can ask them to remove it or I just kinda factor that in when I tip. As of 12/2025, this is the only chase sapphire restaurant in LA that allows dogs so I was so happy to dine here with my furbaby. $150 is enough to feed 3-4 people so come and enjoy! I've been meaning to try this place for a while since I heard their pizzas were good; now that Chase reserve has it on their lists where we can apply our opentable credit, we decided to check it out. Our pizzas took a while to come out. I guess if it were crazy good, then we'd be ok waiting for almost a half hour, but it wasn't. Pizza crust, too soft. Pizza itself, too flimsy. One of the pizzas was flavorless; even the olives had no flavor, I'm actually impressed at how they managed to make olives flavorless tbh. The white pizza we got with the guanciale was pretty good, but overall still doesn't compare to other pizza places out there. The table next to us was saying how they liked Quarter Sheets better, and my oh my are they 10000% right. The best part about our meal was the drinks (not bad, still took long to arrive but it well done), and our server who was very friendly and attentive. Anyway, would not be coming back. Only reason it's not a 2-star is because the front staff was definitely trying their best and they were all amazing, and the food wasn't baaaad, not inedible either. We started with Caesar salad, arancini with black truffle and a hint of honey, and the Senor Carrots -- all winners. Cute place! Just off of Melrose. They make great woodfired pizza. I happened to get there at 6 PM and it was still happy hour; they had some deals like the "Margherita Margarita" which is a Margherita pizza and a Margarita drink for $35. The pizza is beautiful! It had a really flavorful crust and fantastic quality mozzarella with fresh basil. It was just a bit soggy in the middle once it was sliced and the slice wilted when it was picked up; most likely needed to be baked a bit more thoroughly, but I still enjoyed it. The meatball appetizer is really fantastic, with flavorful meatballs, a rich tomato sauce and fresh basil. It comes in a small bowl and is great for sharing. There's a verdant outdoor covered terrace for seating and then inside there's a bar with seating, some long tables, and also booths. According to the staff, normally the booths inside are only for four people. But we managed to get one for my reservation of two because there weren't too many people in the restaurant. Service was fantastic and they were really friendly and super helpful with choosing what to eat. The lighting is really nice inside and subdued. The SERVICE at RONAN is definitely a well deserved highlight in the city. I was warmly greeted immediately within the first 30 seconds of entry. The staff had pleasant interactions with each other while preparing the pizzas for UBER DELIVERY. They treat pick up and delivery drivers well at this location. I had a positive conversation with the manager Jeremy and Gluten Intolerance/GF menu items at RONAN. He recommended a delicious pan seared Chicken entree. My friend and I were excited to try this place given its highly rated status and we love wood fired pizza, but yikes, we were super disappointed. Service was shockingly bad. Our waiter talked to us in a condescending tone when we politely asked if it's possible for the crust to be lightly cooked. If it wasn't okay then I would have happily ordered still, it was just a preference question. Our order was simple: 2 pizzas, no drinks, no apps. To our surprise, 2 tables who came AFTER us and ordered after us received their appetizers AND pizzas before we did. In total, we waited 59 minutes for our pizza even though the waiter said "it's coming out soon" 4 times to us. By the time our pizzas came, the other two tables that came after us were DONE eating and my friend was no longer hungry / having stomach issues because she waited to long to eat (we've all been there). For being Michelin recognized, I would expect better and they should step up their game if they want to use that as a part of their marketing because it is extremely misleading if the treat their customers like this. Super excited to finally try Ronan and great news is getting the reservation isn't that complicated (if you've experienced the toughest ones in town, you know what I mean). The space isn't huge huge, but very decent with mini patio on the side by the entrance. It provides good balance between being intimate yet keeping it casual. Before even going to the main spotlight, the pizzas, the appetizers have been attention-stealers. Lemme take a brief moment appreciating the server for being so informative helping us making choices. Following his reco, we started with their Arancini Truffle and Caesar Salad. The Arancini came in 3 relatively little-but-mighty pieces with decent truffle aroma. I would say it's not like my #1, but def not bad. The Caesar Salad, which was said to be multiple-times award-winning, was refreshing and delectable especially with that generous amount of cheese featured. We did try one of each of their white as well as red pizzas. From the white, the Sweet Cheeks was our starter with toppings of Guanciale, Ricotta, and E Pepe Honey. You might guess it right that it's a combo of creamy and pepper-y taste with hint of sweetness. I personally thought it might suit more niche group given how creamy it was. Still enjoyable for me who indeed love creamy white pizzas, but I would fancy more guanciale ratio to balance the ricotta. From the red, we got their Spicy Chomper, combining Soppressata with 4 cheese, making great balance of savory and creamy flavors. Smart idea to add extra spicy kick from Chili Oil! Other thing to mention, the texture and thickness of the crust well-suited my liking, not being too thin and crispy, but not too stuffy as well. All in all, it's always nice to have more options to go for. Would say it's worth trying despite I wouldn't say it's my top 3 to-go-for-pizza list. read more

Accommodated last min reservation for a family dinner. Cozy casual vibes, vegetarian options and quick service. We ordered Foccacia bread with Burrata dip, margarita pizza and zucchini pizza with white sauce. Bread and pizza were airy and a little salty. Every thing was delicious. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful. I enjoyed sitting in the atrium for a casual feel, but there was an issue with a drip on our table because it was raining outside. We did tell the server so management could be made aware. We each had a pizza and they were what we expected - a rustic, homemade crust, tasty sauce, and the right amount of cheese for each of us. They accommodated our different requests to customize the amount of cheese and adding arugula to one. They did forget the chili paste on one and bringing it cold wasn't a great save. The music was very laid which made conversation difficult at times. Overall, I'd go back, but try sitting indoors. read more

Ronan does what it does well. Both pizzas we tried, Spicy Chomper and Brooklyn, were solid choices--great crust and clean flavors. The Caesar salad was also very good and paired nicely with the pizzas. That said, the menu is pretty limited, so don't expect a lot of variety. If you're in the mood for quality pizza and a good Caesar, it's worth going. Not a lot of protein options. read more

The service and the food were great. The pizza could have been a little firmer and a little less floppy but the flavors were really good. Appetizer was tasty and pizzas came out right in time when appetizers were done. Had to ask for a desert menu but that's not a big deal, and desert matched the rest of dinner. My gripe is with the lack of parking and the fact that they tack in a 4% charge for health care. Just remove the stupid fee and raise prices by 4%. If they just did that, this would be a 5% star review. read more

A lot of good at Ronan. I think the yellowtail and Caesar are the standouts. The yellowtail sauce is really lovely and with a bit of spice. The yellowtail itself had little flavor, unfortunately. Focaccia is a sourdough and really yummy. Pizza had great crust but comes (or came to us) uncut and with far too little cheese. Even on that style of margherita, slices had none as it was all clumped in the middle and not much. I will dream about that crust though. Absolutely perfect. I think they need to cut the pizzas. The knife we had sure didn't work. Burrata was not a standout. Outside has some extremely stiff chairs/benches, but a cute vibe. read more

This place is absolutely worth the hype! We didn't realize Ronan was Michelin-rated before coming in, but after eating here, it completely makes sense. Every dish was thoughtful, layered, and absolutely delicious. We started with the arancini, which you can ask for with a side of marinara--but honestly, it didn't even need it. The flavor combo of mushroom, hot honey, and truffle was spot-on. Then came the carrots, which were the standout dish of the night. We were told they were a must-try, and they totally blew us away--the spicy dip, the sweetness from the honeycomb, the texture of the roasted carrots, and that pop of cilantro freshness... perfection. For our main, we shared the Margherita pizza, and I asked for a little extra cheese (personal preference). The balance of sauce, cheese, and basil was just right, and the crust was incredible--crispy yet chewy. We even used the crusts to scoop up their creamy burrata, and not a bite went to waste. A special shoutout to Jeremy, who took great care of us and had amazing recommendations. You can feel that this is a family-run spot--warm, welcoming, and full of life. Even the details, from the lighting to the plates and cutlery, show how much character and care go into the experience.
