Roobina's is absolutely amazing! We worked with Sasa and Roobina for our Wedding! Their cake is so moist, delicious, and not too sweet. It was such a hit at our Wedding that all of it was gone by the end of the night! The only scare we had was when we reached out and were asked if we had a contract? Make sure to keep copies just in case. Luckily we provided a picture of it and everything was smooth from there. I'm sure it was due to the disruption of COVID, but it did add some anxiety. EXTREMELY disappointed with the cake that we got on the day of the event. We were so excited for all the guests to try the cake, because a week before the event we went to the tasting. Let me tell you that what we tried during the tasting was very, I repeat, very different from what we got. We chose the flavor that we liked and were expecting a cake with the same taste and texture. When we tried the cake itself during the event our disappointment could not be bigger. I am not sure why you would trick your customers like that and give them a better tasting samples made with higher quality ingredients and then make the cake with worse ingredients that tastes like the cheapest cake and has a texture of a wet sponge. We had a cake tasting at Roobina's recently. The coordination is really quick, and they're very communicative. There isn't a way to try their cakes without scheduling it as they're not open to the public as a traditional bakery. For their cake tastings, they set you up with several cupcakes in their most popular flavors. If you'd like to try something else, you should let them know in advance because they do have carrot cake, red velvet, etc. But, their standard offering is: - Coconut Almond - Raspberry - Chocoloate ganache - Strawberry - Hazelnut - Mocha They are assumptive that you'd book your cake with them. They wanted to know which flavors we wanted to go with. Our answer was...none of them; which is how we found out that do have other options. I wish I had known to ask for specific flavors. But we had several questions: - We showed a picture of a specific design and they assured us they could do that. They hadn't done anything similar, so they didn't have any examples to show us, so my fiance asked if they would do a rendering beforhand for us to approve. They said no -- they don't have the ability to do that. Their 'design' was hand-drawn with some notations. So we were really uncomfortable not knowing what it'd actually look like. - Our photo example had a dark icing and we wanted the design on top of that (identical to the photo), but they said that wasn't possible, that you wouldn't be able to see the design. - They really pushed the dummy-cake idea, where the cake is entirely fake except for the part that is cut for the ceremony. I'm really not into that. They offer a free anniversary cake, which is really nice; and they include delivery in their price; I've found their pricing to be really reasonable, pretty much average, or right below average, for wedding cakes in LA. read more

We ordered desserts and catering from this company in mid December for my daughter's 1st birthday party but we were extremely disappointed by the size and quality of the food, in addition to the terrible customer service. The food, which we had delivered to our venue, was very small -- much less than the amount suitable for the party, despite the assurances that it would be more than enough food. The food was also pretty bad. The kebabs were dry and shriveled, and tasted a day old. Considering the cost, we would have been way better off ordering from anywhere else. On the day of the party, when we saw how little was delivered, we had to make some last minute stops at the supermarket to get additional cold cut platters. We complained to Roobina's Cake, but the man in charge of the catering was very defensive and claimed their food was fancy and worth the cost. Believe me, it's not. He also refused any sort of remedy, except to give a partial credit for "next time." But we won't be ordering from them again in the future, so that's useless; we're not going to reward them by ordering their terrible overpriced food. Roobina also never called us to discuss this, despite her assistant and the man in charge of catering assuring us she would get back to us. In the end, we are considering this a costly lesson to avoid Roobina's Cake in the future. read more

I ordered my cake approximately 1 week and half prior to my baby's first bday party and Dolar was very very helpful and accommodating on the telephone. I sent her a picture of what I wanted and it was executed accordingly. On the day of pickup the ladies were very helpful and pleasant. After doing a lot of research for a bakery that was a master at the style I wanted, (and was not outrageously priced) I found Roobina's. The cake tasting went well, the cake was moist and delicious and I put down a deposit same day. I did note reviews said there were concerns with communication and we did have a few hiccups along the way. The team did respond when I called with my concerns and smoothed things over quickly. Several times I did have to follow a txt message up with a reminder to respond, but I did eventually get a response. In hind-site, with all the mayhem of wedding planning, the issues with Roobina's were very small in comparison to other problems I had and the product was phenomenal. They took my idea and made it BETTER than the photo. The details were beautiful and was easily one of my favorite items at my wedding.
