My fiance and I went here for a cake tasting based off the reviews here on yelp and all I can say is please do not be fooled. We had an appointment set up a week in advance, but when we arrived and told them why we were there they seemed surprised and told us we would have to wait. Apparently there is only one guy who handles the cake tasting "interviews" and he was busy with other customers. We waited for about 20 minutes before he finally got to us and we were brought samples to taste. While we were tasting he once again left to assist other customers and pretty much had no interest in serving us. I just assumed it was a busy day for him so I didn't pay much attention. What really bothered me is that the cake was terribly dry and nothing had flavor. For a shop with so many positive reviews I expected much better. There weren't many fillings to choose from on top of that. I don't care what your cakes looks like, if you have bad customer service and a bad product you do not deserve our business. Roobina is truly a skilled cake designer! She designed a gorgeous cake for my wedding and it tasted remarkable! The only reason I didn't rate her business a 5 is because I felt that it was lacking professionalism. I had to call several times to make sure she knew what cake I wanted even though we had met with her and her daughter several times before hand...They work with the American Wedding Center, yet I felt as though there was little communication between those two businesses. She would often ask me how much I paid for my cake...and it was part of a package I had purchased from the American Wedding Center, so I didn't know...this is something they should know or always have on file. Roobina is very busy and getting her to truly pay attention seems a bit difficult. I had to call and text her photos of what I wanted a few times just to be sure because I sensed that she would somehow forget. I needed a cake last minute for a bridal shower, so a friend recommended Roobinas cakes. I spoke with Armen over the phone and texted a picture of the cake to get a rough estimate. He gave the best price, worked around my hectic schedule, and was super quick about putting an order. When I went to pick up the cake, i found out that they rent out cake stands. I asked him what color would be best; black (i already had) or gold (i would rent from him) and he said black. Little things like this really make a huge difference. Makes you actually want to give your business to someone who you know isn't just after your money. The cake was BEAUTIFUL. It was exactly what i had asked for! And the taste was just.....YUM. We went in for a tasting and couldn't decide which flavor to pick because everything tasted amazing. so we went with 4 different flavors and they were nice enough to not even ask for an additional fee. Armin is an absolute dream to work with! The showroom is absolutely stunning. As you walk in, you are greeted with a kind smile and offered refreshments. You must have the macaroons they are so yummy! My fiance and I were in such a bind, our baker had cancelled on us and Armin was more than willing to accommodate our order. He offered us several of their cake flavors to sample. We totally recommend the chocolate ganosh and strawberry shortcake. Every flavor was moist and absolutely delishious, but those two were our favorites. Armin gave us advice on how many servings we really needed. We were still iffy on if we needed that much cake, but he was never pushy. After the cake tasting, we went home to decide on it. I dreamed about the cake that night and just HAD TO HAVE IT!
