I threw a surprise birthday party at Rooftop93 this past weekend and cannot say enough good things about the whole process. Sabrina, the General Manager, was super detailed about every step of the process, she took into consideration every question and request I had, and the day of was seamless. I was a stressed out mess, but Sabrina and her team put us at ease, kept the party moving, all while having a smile on their faces. The venue is beautiful--we did the lower enclosed area which had plenty of seating and space to enjoy the spectacular view. Guests kept telling how much they loved the venue. We did very minor decorating, it didn't need much due to the great color and design choices. If you make reservations the valet does offer a discount, or something. I didnt ask questions because i was staying in the hotel. They have unique mixed drinks. Sorry. Didn't order any food. Found rooftop 93 on Yelp while walking through Chinatown. The view the ambience is awesome! We got seated right next to a window with a great View after 7 p.m. during happy hour. You definitely need to go to the 19th floor if you visit the view the spectacular! When I checked in with Yelp received the free shot. The bartender was very nice made very good drinks that you would not be disappointed for. The only reason why I did not give 5 stars, the waitress was very slow! We would have liked to have more drinks during happy hour but the waitress was constantly on her cell phone. Overall, definitely a place to recommend and if I ever come back to New York, I will be sure to visit again. read more

Awesome value at happy hour which runs until 8 PM! $6 cocktails. The view is hard to beat too. Great views of sunset of both Manhattan and FiDi. They give a free shot if you checkin on yelp, but I'm saving it for when I bring my friends back. Really fun place. Popular but it overcrowded and there's an inside option if it rains. I have visited this rooftop twice, and both times exceeded my expectations. It's a chill low key spot with great drinks and tasty food. It's a cozy and casual environment. The floor to ceiling windows allow you to enjoy the view all year round. I don't frequent the city too often like I used to, but if I'm in the area I'll definitely stop by again. read more

AMAZING STAFF: I've hosted about 6 corporate parties in NYC and Rooftop93's event coordinator, Sabrina, was hands down the most pleasant to work with. She was on top of everything--furniture set up, sufficient staffing (security, enough bartenders, someone to check guests in), lighting, music, hot cocoa/cider bar (since our event was in the winter and there's a private terrace)--you name it and Sabrina was on it and did it with a smile! The rest of staff was really friendly as well. Super helpful in setting up and bartenders never seemed overwhelmed despite the large crowd! BEAUTIFUL VIEWS: The venue itself is breath-taking. Clean and modern look. My colleagues were blown away by the views of Empire State, One World Trade, and the overall city-lit skyline. Having the private terrace was a huge plus for people to get some quiet, take in the views, and snap pictures. BUDGET FRIENDLY: We were working with a very modest budget considering the large event we hosted and Sabrina made it work. I've always been around Chinatown but never visited this rooftop bar. Finally got a chance to check it out for a friend's birthday. Note - I came on a late Friday night (past 12). Pros- Like what many reviews will tell you - the view is pretty good. Wall-to-ceiling windows facing the Empire State Building, lounge seating, and one bar. Fairly cozy in terms of space. Meh - It's not a huge place, and their music is your typical top 50s (+ some awkward songs that don't exactly belong in a lounge setting) but it could've just been the Friday night music. Cons - Other than the people in our group celebrating the birthday, the place was near empty so if you're looking for a popping place on a Friday night - don't bother. - A HUGE con is how EXPENSIVE they are. I don't like to rant about prices, but I feel better paying these prices at Gansevoort than paying them there. $14 shots, $9 beer. Not only that, they charged tip on my card already. It was a hefty tip for 5 shots, so they left me feeling like they stole from me. Small shots, weak drinks (that came in red cups???). And if you're downtown, there are definitely cheaper spots elsewhere Overall, come here if you really want a great view, lounge-type space and you're nearby with a friend. Maybe you want to bring your friends somewhere nice after dinner in Chinatown. Just get beer because everything else is just not worth it. read more

First night I went here I loved this place. Great bartenders, beautiful view, very laid back atmosphere, very reasonable prices for Happy Hour. I went back the next evening with a few friends, step in the elevator, and press the 18th floor button. Nothing happens. Press it again. Nothing. Go to second elevator thinking first one is broken. Same thing. Talk to front desk staff who informs us that the bar is managed by another company they show up when they feel like it. Okay, that's fine, but if you advertise Happy Hour and it's an hour into it and no one shows up, how can you justify your advertising? Surprisingly adorable. Cute interior, pretty inexpensive drinks and small plates. There's a wide array of drinks on the menu from sake to craft beers. The spot was pretty empty too, which made it an easy in and out on a Thursday night. We sat right up against the window. The only complain was that they had certain lamp lights on that made for a bad reflection in the window overlooking the city. read more

Had to knock down 2 stars for the music. It's waaaaay too low and the music selection isn't the best for dancing. This isn't a place that you go to if you want to have that "nightlife" experience where you're dancing the night away to music. But I guess they weren't going for that vibe anyway ... I'd say this place might be good for a date - go when it's not too crowded like a Sunday night. We were seated down and just ordered a round of drinks when the waitress come to announce that they just got a bottle service reservation and we had to get up from the table. Never coming here again. Myself and my wife got married here on May 27th of this year and it couldn't of gone any better! We contacted Sabrina who showed us all the options that were available to us and we fell in love with the 17th floor. We had the most amazing ceremony there and also used the Rooftop 93 bar for a cocktail hour before returning to the 17th floor for our reception. The views are amazing from all directions, we had both indoor and outdoor access which was exactly what we we're looking for. We spent a lot of time researching and going to many locations and this had everything we needed and more. Considering how stressful wedding planning is everything was made one hundred times easier with the assistance of all the staff here, particularly Sabrina. She was always available to talk to whenever we had questions, allowed us to visit the locations multiple times and prepare for our event ahead of our allotted time. There was nothing she was not willing to help us with. From advising us on decoration ideas, ensuring that everything looked impeccable, accommodating our drink requests, helping us with the transition from ceremony to reception, and taking charge of every aspect of the set up of our event so we could enjoy our wedding day and an innumerable amount of other things! From the outset we were put at ease and arrived on the day knowing that everything was going to run so smoothly. We honestly would not have been able to do it all without her help! Another staff member who was such a big help was Jack, he ensured we had the drink that we requested and made some adjustments to the outside area so that it looked exactly how we wanted it. Aside from that all the staff on the day, such as the bartenders, were super friendly to our guests! And everyone there pitched in to help with the break down of the event which was such a relief when we collected everything the following day. If anyone is considering hosting a private event we could not recommend this location enough. From the amazing staff, incredible views, competitive price and beautiful space this has everything you need. We can't wait to come back here for drinks! We went for 4th of July - paid $16 each for entrance. They advertised great view of the fireworks. When we arrived, there were no seats - only a handful of reserved benches. Not acceptable after we both had knee surgery. We were told we could sit on the benches until the "reservees" showed up. What kind of bar does not offer seating? One that wants to cram in more people I suppose. They have happy hour every night except 4th of July. I guess because we paid an entrance fee we were entitled to $13 well drinks. Also, they advertised "little bites" of food with our entrance. There was no food at all - not even for sale. Forget about the view to the fireworks. Out of the three floors that were open to guests, only two little corners had a view of the Brooklyn Bridge where the fireworks were launched - maybe enough room for about a dozen people to see. With the large building in the way, I can't imagine there was any view at all. Fortunately, we immediately ditched the place, ate dinner at the Bowery Beer Garden downstairs, which was very good, and made our way to the bridge where we were able to see the fireworks. read more
