    Crabcake
    Kayla W.

The restaurant is in a great location in Walnut Creek with a beautiful view. Despite visiting on a busy weekend afternoon, the staff was kind and very attentive. Unfortunately the food was pretty mediocre. 1. The crab cakes were as expected. Small but fresh. The arugula salad is a nice touch. 2. The short rib in the benedict was delicious. Unfortunately the side of potatoes were barely room temp and far from crispy. 3. The quiche was underwhelming; very small, lacking bacon, and served cold. If we didn't have plans scheduled afterwards, we would have ordered something else. 4. The fries were the hottest item that came out. The restaurant is cute but left much to be desired in terms of hot and flavorful food. If I am to return, I might just come for drinks instead.

We came here for a birthday celebration and it was raining but they had an overhang that kept the rooftop space usable. We ordered a lot of apps, fried and oysters were good. They are known for their short ribs, it was good but nothing exceptional. I would say it is just ok. Service was good and they checked in on us. This was a nice spot in downtown Walnut Creek, but heads up , the small parking lot below is really strict on handing out tickets. Two people in our party got hit with parking tickets for being a few minutes late to add money to the meter.

The rooftop located in Walnut Creek has an outdoor lounge vibe in the middle of the city. I was greeted by the hostess and taken to a table by the outside patio. Started off with truffle fries and Brussels sprouts. Appetizers were good nothing spectacular that would stand out. Ordered the spicy rigatoni pasta with grilled chicken and tuna tartar. Both items were good but again it wasn't something that stood out. There were few things that occurred that kinda made our experience a bit different. 1. From my view I sat in front of a dining room area where I believe there was manager coaching an employee or corrective action or work review was occurring. The curtain was pulled halfway and my line of view I could see that there was definitely a situation that occurred between employees as I saw one female employee go behind the curtain to speak to a manager sitting at a table then a male employee went in afterwards to speak to a manager. Nonetheless it was kinda awkward witnessing this and I'm not sure if they don't have an actual office to do this behind actual closed doors. 2. Walnut Creek has a two hour dine limit. As I'm not from this area I was oblivious to how strict there are to this rule. You cannot dine past your 2 hour time and I realized this when our waiter kept walking by multiple times asking if we were still eating. He finally informed me about this and said he allowed an extra 15 minutes but he had to tab us out. Kind of off putting to be kicked out. 3. This isn't a big issue but weekend diners are automatically charged extra weekend gratuity. Just a heads up for those who wouldn't have seen it on their bill.

I should have looked at the reviews before we came. I wish our visit was a 3.6 review. Brandi L was our waitress and wow, it sure seemed like she would rather be anywhere but here as if she was a waitress in a Michelin rated snobby restaurant. So inattentive to us. We sat and waited for waters and finally got to order drinks. We ordered a few apps. We waited a while before being able to order our entrees and Brandi came to our table and said, do you want to order entrees because our kitchen is closing soon. Yes, we want food, and she is the reason it took so long so to make it seem like we were the problem is madness. This was at 8:32. My wife asked if she could get the Chilean sea-bass, but if she could get it cooked with no butter and oil and our waitress told us no and that the kitchen HAD to use oil. This is the first time we have ever experienced a place not be able to do this. She had ordered oysters for an appetizer so instead my wife just ordered another half dozen oysters. So instead of charging us for a dozen since the kitchen wouldn't accommodate us she overcharged us for two half dozen oysters instead of just a dozen. They brought out another beet and goat cheese app instead of the oysters so we had to wait for the oysters. The short rib and pasta were very under seasoned and we had to ask for salt. My daughter ate a few bites and didn't even come close to putting a dent in the pasta. We were never offered desserts. The ambience was nice except for the couple smoking on the patio by the door. Fine if that's what the restaurant wants, but we were seated at the door to the patio and was just off putting. Overall very disappointing. Should have stopped at the pizza place and just gone there.

I am starting to venture out more in Walnut Creek so when I was invited to a 60th birthday dinner, I thought perfect timing. It was festive because it was decorated for the holidays so it's like I was getting a 2 for 1. A great place to celebrate a birthday. The space is definitely appropriate for a celebration. and the food was good. They had a Bone- In Ribeye, Chilean Seabass, and a host of other choices, I kept it simple and ordered a salad. Most importantly, let me not forget about all of the drink options that were available. They had the classics and specialty cocktails. Fun times!! I can imagine this place in the summer, however what a vibe all year around. Cheers!!

My husband and I came here yesterday for a date night and really enjoyed our meal. First off, the drinks were good and really quite strong! I got their lavender cocktail (I forget the actual name) and would definitely get it again. The food was - wow - outstanding! Their salmon had a glorious crispy outside and the potatoes were also nice and crispy. The asparagus was nicely seasoned and the soy glaze on top was delightful. Every bite was *chefs kiss*. My husband also loved his rigatoni. The prices? They aren't cheap. This isn't an every week type of place; but I don't think they are completely out of the ballpark taking into account the quality and location. Drinks are $16-$18 and entrees are ~$25-45 range. The service was very good! Our waiter was very polite and attentive, and staff was very good at clearing our plates, filling water etc. The ambiance? I have mixed feelings on. I love the view, and the decor was nice. Buuut the music was a bit too loud. And it was club type music...Luckily we were in a spot that wasn't fully covered so the sound could escape a little more, but still, I wouldn't say it's fantastic for a romantic evening as it's hard to hear what others at your table are saying. I would say choose softer music, let people enjoy the view and not be overwhelmed by noise. I see a lot of reviews about this place being stingy when it comes to seating you if you don't buy food. Obviously, we didn't face this obstacle as we did intend to order dinner. However, the host did ask us if we were going to order food; and I wonder if we would have said 'no', then we would have been turned away? If so, that's a problem. This restaurant has more far more cocktails than entrees on its menu, so it should not come as a surprise if guests want to come in for a few drinks and nothing else. I can understand that owners don't want people hogging a table if they aren't ordering enough, but there's got to be a better way of doing that. The other common experience I see is people being denied alcohol often. I wonder if part of the reason of this is because A) You have to climb 3 flights of stairs to get there and it's a legal concern or B) Their drinks are very strong so they're trying to be extra careful. All in all, we enjoyed our time, and would come again, but would be afraid to if only desiring libations. lol

Popped over to Rooftop for some Sunday funday! It was by the far the busiest and best scene in Walnut creek that afternoon. We enjoyed the cocktails and vibe!

Great lunch on this rooftop! What a great place to enjoy the sun today..... service was on point and attentive. My crispy duck was not crispy as the name stated but taste was great. His burger was delicious as well as truffle fries. My 'pear on me' drink was ok not sure if I would order again. Would definitely come back again especially on a nice day like today

The ambiance is lovely and open air in some areas with a gorgeous view of the area skyline. This is on the 3rd floor of a building that has two other restaurants on the first and second stories. First floor is a pizza place, second is Teleferic restaurant. Parking is street parking but is free after 8pm. This is in the small and quaint shopping plaza in Walnut Creek off of Diablo road.

first time! I've always wanted to try rooftop bc I was intrigued by how busy it is and how it's connected to 2 other restaurants. This is a WC Classic. Starting off they're known for their ambiance ofc, it's a perfect epicenter of broadway plaza and a good way to unwind after a long day of shopping. At night it could get pretty chilly so I suggest bringing something cozy and warm in case. Food is cool. Not too special but I did enjoy the quick service. The server checked on us a lot, kept the drinks coming, bussers always cleared the table & filled up water. They hooked us up with a birthday cake since I was celebrating mine! Short rib : probably the best I just wish they didn't use baby carrots lol it seemed low effort. 6.5/10 but amazing taste & really tender meat Spicy rigatoni : mild flavor 6/10 Espresso martini : sneaks up on you 8/10 Crispy Cauliflower : didn't know what the sauce was but I enjoyed the crisp. 8/10 Red velvet cake: yum! a little too sweet for me 6/10 I made a last minute reservation it was smooth.

They have a 2 hour seating time limit. On Friday and Saturday they have a DJ that plays music. The food and drinks here never fail us and this is kind of our GNO spot.

We started with the crispy zucchini appetizer, which was the perfect crunchy beginning to the meal. The salad was light and refreshing, and the burrata with figs was a sweet and surprisingly delicious combination, not something I would normally order, but absolutely worth trying. For our entrée, we shared the chicken skewers with rice and salad, and it was more than enough for two girls reminiscing about our fun college days. The atmosphere and décor were vibrant and inviting, especially sitting outside on a gorgeous sunny day. Parking was easy with a nearby garage, or if you're lucky, you can grab street parking. We skipped dessert only because we had our eyes set on bundt cakes down the street, but I'm sure the desserts here are just as wonderful. This is the perfect spot for fresh food, good vibes, and a relaxing afternoon or evening. There's even a theater nearby, making it a great dinner-and-a-movie destination all within walking distance. I really liked my lobster bucatini. The coconut ceviche was very fresh, not too sour and tart. My friend got the filet mignon skewers, and those were okay. We both got a drink as well. Service was friendly enough. The only thing that's rubbing me the wrong way is what we were charged on our bill. I am 100% sure I rounded my bill to $XX.00 because that's what I like to do, but when I saw the charge it was different. I am also sure I did not pay the exact amount as my friend (confirmed because she did the exact 18% rec), so to find out we both got charged the same amount.....very sus. I of course already threw away the receipt, but recalculating our meal...We definitely did not spend $100.67 each...So just be aware when you check your statement!! SKETCH!!!

She then made us wait 20 minutes into our reservation because another table wasn't finished with their meal. I initially didn't think anything of it (after all, it was a busy night)- until another group of white women who had made a reservation were immediately attended to by this hostess, and were given a table at a significantly better lit area. My indian family was made to sit at the corner of the restaurant, by the bathrooms. However I want to keep in mind that maybe it was a bad day, and the rest of the staff were very polite to us.
