Great food and drinks at a classic New Orleans establishment. They definitely know how to make a Sazerac or a Gin Fizz correctly, and the environment is excellent. It can be a real hopping place, and get totally packed with people. It's awesome, as long as you are willing to go into significant debt and sell your car to get a few drinks. I mean, crazy expensive, especially considering the city that it's located in. That said, I would definitely recommend, and would probably be back - provided there was a good enough reason, like a wedding, a party, and anniversary, or I won the lottery. read more

I stayed at the Roosevelt Hotel but this was definitely the place to drink at. Obviously the drinks are considerably cheaper at this the bar but more importantly the people are nicer and down to earth, the music is great and you really feel comfortable at this bar. This bar is a hidden gem. It's just the right size. The music is not too loud, so you can have a conversation with your friends. A group of us were in town for the weekend and stumbled across this little place. A small hole in the all type of place. The bartender Elizabeth (and George) was awesome. Lots of fun. The other patrons were all friendly. Reasonable prices. Great music out front. Relaxed atmosphere. What else could you want? We ended up going back the next night as well. read more

This place was very clean and also in a great location near my hotel. We decided to visit this location the night of 5/24 But this was quite possibly the worst customer service I have ever had from a bartender(didn't get her name). After making a fuss about drinks that we ordered I witness the same drunk angry bartender have a tantrum towards patrons who were not even talking to her or near her at the time. They walked out along with 4 people they were with. 5 other patrons walked out after witnessing this. The Roosevelt Bar seems to not care about service, and it prompted 11 people walk out because of a bartender. Save your time and spend your money with one of the countless other bars in downtown New Orleans that actually appreciates getting your business. read more

I stayed at the Roosevelt hotel last weekend for the mnf game and we started most if our nights at this bar. This is a great place to chill and have a martini or speciality cocktail. The bartenders are dressed in white tuxedos and are very experienced. The drinks are on the pricier side but that's the price you pay to be in a classy hotel bar. There are stools at the bar and regular seating as well. Great place to take a date as well. read more

The dark interior drew us in and we were only going to have 1 drink, because we wanted to see that night's parade (first time in New Orleans) However we ended up staying longer because we really enjoyed the ambiance and our bartender Bailie was fun to talk to. You could say I had a little too much fun because I ended up dropping my wallet. Realized it after we were on our way to the parade, called and asked but nobody had turned it in. I recently had the chance to visit the Roosevelt Hotel Bar. This bar is in no way associated with the Roosevelt Hotel which is next door. The night I visited with friends my experience was disappointing to say the least. I was served by a bartender named Lauren. I am in the hospitality business and have bartended on multiple occasions. To make it simple she had a very narcissistic attitude. It was almost as if she was doing me a favor to serve me. I will say that I went back weeks later when this particular bartender was not working. I had the best time. read more

I consistently return here because the mixed drinks are so amazing. The bar tenders really know their stuff and are always so friendly and interesting to talk to. I don't know any other bars that keep fresh herbs on hand and know how to use them. I loved this place so much that I wanted to take Chef Chris back to my hometown! The bar is small- only three or four tables and the bar itself, but the atmosphere is great, and Chef Chris, who leases the kitchen, is the best! If you visit when the traffic isn't too heavy, he'll cook you something special that's not on the menu. We did this twice in one week and it was perfect both times. On the bikeride down from fancy or "sexy" Rouses, as some have donned it, i make some sort of excuse to go to The Roosevelt Bar. Usually Roxanne is there-dynamic engaging woman, she. If she and i went to High School together, we'd never mix. But her heart is in the right place, as is her savviness. Apparently she makes parties for all types of occasions along with one of her girlfriends. i'm not a nerd, per sey, but this is not me scene. Roxanne makes all this whirlwind feel inclusive, trying to engage others. Noted. It's a small place, but so what? View to the street. Used to have some bands, but understand that it wasn't costworthy. (or permit legal?) Your Girl Roxanne was fixing to host an Anti-Valentine's Party today. She and said friend were buying loads of stuff for prizes and decorations, etc. This i applaud. They are trying to make a little something out of nothing on a tough street. And succeeding! We had been to the Orpheum Theatre for a private party and upon leaving, my wife said she had heard from a TV travel show that the Roosevelt Hotel Bar was a fun spot, so we dropped in for a quick drink. Two hours later we didn't want to leave. Great little bar and Elizabeth was an absolute treasure. Not only was she a terrific bartender but a great historian and an ambassador for her city. It was a pleasure getting to know her and the other local patrons. Her French 75 was the best of our entire trip. If you're looking for a N'awlins bar not on Bourbon St., this is your destination.
