We got the chez bubba basket. Very tasty! Lots of TVs and drink specials. Family friendly. They do have peanuts in the shell that you can get in a bucket so if you have nut allergies steer clear. The bbq Queso is really good, definitely has pickles in it and it gives it a hint of sweetness to go with the deliciously bitter bbq. Great BBQ restaurant in the heart of Denton-- close to Denton square. Pulled pork sandwich was served in Texas toast with fresh potato chips, we also had brisket bbq queso- absolutely delicious and had great flavor. My son had The two meat plate- Ham and sausage with a side a Mac and cheese- he loved it. Pulled pork was lean and not dipping in fat and grease- had a delicious seasoning on it, I could have had two sandwiches, Caramelized onions and jalapeño was the perfect compliment. We LOVE Roosters. I have been coming here for years, & we still try to make it out once a month to eat a bite as a family. Now, the area/neighborhood is being renovated & spruced up, & is quite a happening area. Roosters staff are always nice & helpful, very attentive, even outside on the front or back patio. Try an off the menu item called sloppy tots, which are tatem tots smothered in home-made sloppy joe, sauteed onions, tons of cheese, hot af jalapenos, served with 4anch dressing...NOPE, this is NOT DOET FOOD, & sure as hell isnt whole-30 or KETO, but it's a treat once a month my family is bananas for. My kids usually enjoy the sloppy joe meal with home-cooked kettle chips, but last night my oldest ordered the catfish/shrimp special & he enjoyed it quite a bit! There is a rice bowl on the menu featuring grilled zucchini, yellow squash, grilled mushrooms, and yellow onion with grilled chicken. It is a light dish, and quite tasty! Try their bloody mary bar, or cockeyed lemonade for a grown-ups only treat as well...all drinks are customizable with garnishes, and flavors...It does get packed quickly on weekends and they dont take reservations, so go early and be prepared to struggle with parking... Cool vibe inside & outside too. We LOVE SITTING on the back patio when the weather is nice. TV with sports on always. Very eclectic, and has become a downright staple go-to spot in Denton now. The burgers are fresh tasting and the patty is pretty thin so the double isn't an issue for even a girl who likes a thicker patty .. We were a large party so the service was a bit spotty but they recognized that, acknowledged it and tried to make it better. I would give them four stars for the quality of service. Great customer service always welcoming and fun people who will joke with you on your 15 person order that they wouldn't take over the phone. Have never had anything bad here to eat. Slightly crowded space which would be cooler if they closed the street down behind the building and made it a large open air food area.
