Unfortunately it's mostly paid parking around here and then this smoothie was $12.75. It was definitely good and tasted like it was made with healthy quality ingredients but it hurts my bank account to go here. I do appreciate a decent amount of seating available and shared tables for standing or sitting. It was pretty busy on a weekend afternoon. Instead of calling your name they give you a number and bring it to you which I like so we don't have to hear anyone yelling names out! Made for a calmer environment. I have only ever ordered the Golden Milk Latte each time I visit Rooted, but their version is one of the best I have ever tasted. At $6 for the smallest size, the beverages are definitely a splurge; however, the quality of the oat milk and spices justifies this special treat. (Note: Rooted only carries plant-based milk.) I would describe the sensation provided by the Golden Milk Latte as "warming" and not overly spicy or sweet. From an ambiance perspective, Rooted has ample seating indoors and outdoors. The space retains a lot of the look and feel of the old Coffee Shop that was here previously, and Rooted keeps the space clean and inviting with plenty of plant decor. We arrived here on a rainy Saturday but the place was still packed and lively. We got in line to place our order and then as we completed that step. Bar type seating at the very back of the cafe near the bathrooms opened up. They have WIFI info taped to the counter near the cash register. They gave us a number for a food order, but we had to pick up our coffees at the counter. I ordered their 'avotoast - make it fresh' and I enjoyed their fresh bread, avo spread with fresh micro greens and balsamic drizzle a lot. It was pretty filling and the cappuccino was a bit smaller then I anticipated. We had dined in but they gave us to go cups (compostable) but would be nice to have been served up in a mug. The cashier was very nice and our server came by and dropped off the food, was also in a pleasant mood. My partner had their classic waffle and said it was a solid pastry. I'm curious to try their breakfast Sammy (all plant based eggs and sausage) next time. We parked at a garage, bc WC was still lively on this rainy day. Overall, the place was bustling and not necessarily a quiet cafe to get lost in a book but folks were generally respectful of conversation volume. It was a mixed crown of families with young children and the groups of Gen Y/Z types, and couples like ourselves looking to try a new coffee spot. Will come again! I often drive by on my way out of WC, and I always make a mental note to visit. Well, a few months ago, I finally did! Rooted is always bustling with people, no matter the time. This vegan & plant-based cafe has indoor and an outdoor (parklet) seating. We originally came in to try their coffee, but the avocado toasts ended up calling our names, too. We got an order of the green goddess and avocado dream (with extra chili flakes on my half). One order comes with two pieces, so my bf and I traded one half each to try both. Both were delicious, but personally, I thought the green goddess had a slight edge. I also got the "Get Stoked" coffee, but admittedly cannot remember what's in it. But I do remember that I liked it! Staff was friendly from my very short interaction and we didn't need to wait too long for our items. Overall, would return -- I just always need to make a conscious effort of it. read more

I love trying local coffee places and this one is a winner!! Lowly space In Walnut Creek with both inside and outside seating and a great menu! I am normal a coffee type meaning straight coffee but as I love cardamom drinks and have not had one since the signature Starbucks in NYC took it off the menu - had to try the cardamom latte! It was delicious and not too sweet which was my only concern! Would definitely have again! Has the peach parfait for breakfast , that was good but a little too sweet for me, much preferred the avocado toast that my husband had which had a balsamic glaze which was an unusual but fantastic twist and we also had the churro waffle stick which was so, so good! As a grad school students, I am always searching for places that have good food and coffee so I can stay for long hours getting homework done. I came here on a Friday and the coffee shop is clean, and the food and coffee were delicious! Absolutely amazing! However, this place seems to me more like a social gathering coffee shop more so than a good place to study. The music was a bit loud but the major problem I had was with the internet accessibility. My school's database did not let me log in at all. I kept getting a message that the network wasn't safe and I couldn't connect. I need my online database to look at assignments and also to access the school library to search for articles. Unfortunately I couldn't so 2/5 for that. Please get a better internet service. I've never had this problem anywhere before so it was super strange and I was so bummed out because the food and coffee are amazing! They get a 5/5 for the food though. I had the Make It Sunny' Toast which comes with chickpeas and it was delicious! One of the best avocado toast I've had. I also ordered a Matcha Latte with Macadamia Milk and it was delicious! I love this place, no doubt and had given 4-5 stars every time because of the atmosphere, food, and warm feeling. Food ordered today was Breakfast Sammy and requested over "half croissant" as wheat does not suit me all the time. Marco was present and added an option with extra avocado which I opted with it. I waited for the food for 20-25 min which is ok too as I enjoyed my amazing coffee sips. However, when my breakfast arrived, they had not followed instructions, avocado had "no taste", the vegan sausage was not warm, and the provolone cheese was not melting. I decided to get myself a maple doughnut because I have a sweet spot for sweets with maple syrup in them. The doughnut was plucked out from the display case near the countertop, but the avocado toast, I received a number. The staff informed me that they will deliver the food afterwards. The wait was short, and the takeout box arrived. The avocado toast filled the long rectangular box, and it was cut into three pieces. It was large enough to be shared with a friend -- in which I did. I ordered the one called "Make it fresh," where in addition to the avocado and salt and pepper, sprouts and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar was poured on top. The sprouts covered the whole toast, and I loved how pretty the leaves were (purple!) I took a bite of the toast, and it was very good. The avocado spread was seasoned well with a good amount of salt, so it wasn't bland or tasteless. The sprouts gave a good spicy kick and the crisp texture. I also loved the bread; not too tough and also not too soft that it crumbles in each bite. It held up the thick layer of avocado and the vinegar strongly. I drive from LA to come here... 6 whole whopping hours. (Okay maybe I have family here too, but Rooted is my first stop lol) I found the pleasant hill location some time back and absolutely fell in love. I was so excited to hear about their new Locust shop as my family lives in Clayton and it's a bit closer for me. Wow. Did they hit the location jackpot. Parking in the back and space for outside seating in the front. The vibe is still much the same with an immense amount of space inside to sit and hangout. They have a cold section and some new fun looking salads, which I have yet to try but they look amazing per usual. My go to is a matcha with macadamia nut milk. LOVE LOVE LOVE their matcha that they use (Mitzuba) quality and delicious. I pair it with the avocado toast make it sunny extra chili flakes. Lemme take a second to praise this toast. First off, I have yet to have a more decadent avocado toast. And I live in LA. You really get your money's worth and it's so unique. The waffle sticks are tasty and you can't go wrong with any of the baked goods. Oh and the smoothies! Man they are tasty. I really haven't had anything from here that I haven't loved. This coffee shop is so good to those who avoid dairy. Most of their products are plant based. Even their cold foam they use is plant based which is amazing. I don't think there is a surcharge for alternative milk. The service is great. They all seem nice and friendly. The ambiance is immaculate. I really love the vibes and the plant aesthetics. It's very cozy and also feels very communal. Limited seating to be honest. I think it is a good place to get some work done when it's not too busy. Amazing entirely plant-based cafe here in Walnut Creek! I always make sure to stop by whenever I'm in Walnut Creek, it's downtown and has shops all around it- great location. Ample indoor and outdoor seating, with free wifi and bathrooms as well! Milks are non-dairy: oat, almond, soy, macadamia, and sweet pea, all without any extra charge. My favorite drinks lately have been the vanilla mint latte (sooo refreshing) and summer's seasonal matcha with strawberry cold foam. I absolutely love Rooted's waffles! You can buy a half or a full waffle, and even though they're gluten-free they taste "normal". Definitely go for the chunky monkey- it's slathered in peanut butter with choc chips, banana, and maple syrup.
