My sewer backed up this weekend and called Rooter Hero as they provide 24/7 services. I talked to Customer Service first and within an hour I was scheduled for service. Joseph Metoyer along with his Supervisor Basilio came to see my damage. I was given a quote which I think was a little bit high with a little bit of senior discount. Since I need to do it quickly I didn't even think twice just bite the bullet and went along with their quote. I was impressed with Rooter Hero crew especially with Joseph Metoyer's services. Joseph is so patient and he was able to perform his portion of the job real well. He cleaned the debris afterwards by himself without hesitation. I hired Rooter Hero in San Jose on September 9, 2025, for a backed-up sewer drain after being quoted $79 to clear it. The first tech snaked about 75 feet but couldn't open the line. He said they could send another crew with a camera who would both inspect and clear the blockage for around $500 if successful. The second crew came out, ran a camera, didn't clear anything, and then quoted me nearly $6,000 to dig up the yard and install a new cleanout. I declined and called Roto-Rooter, who cleared the same clog in under 15 minutes for $565. Rooter Hero charged me $517.50, refunded $258.75, and never called back or provided any video or report. Bottom line: poor communication, misleading promises, and a hard upsell instead of solving the problem. Always get a second opinion before approving major work. read more

We've had Rooter Hero twice recently and the experience was one of most amazing experience we've had in years!!! They sent Ricky out to do the work. Obviously he is their best guy to do the work. Not only did he do a very thorough, and complete job. He took pride in his workmanship that he explained everything to us and cleaned up afterwards. He not only left everything working in tip top shape he also left the work area spotless!!!! He noticed that we had two very large and heavy ladders that needed to be moved so he put them back for us. Anyone else would leave them and it would be normal but not Ricky. ASK FOR FRANKY! He went above and beyond for us! We needed the work to be done quickly; when Franky showed up he listened to our particular wishes and let us know it can all be accomodated. He gave us a quote on the spot so there was no delay. The quote was VERY reasonable and he let us know the simplest way it can be done so we weren't raking up unnecessary costs. He wasn't trying to upsell us on anything and even shared his personal number with us - that made communication so easy and so quick because we didn't have to call the company and get rerouted a bunch of times. He made himself available per our busy schedule, showed up on time & got straight to work, which, by the way, wasn't an easy job. He even tested the system after to make sure it was working properly (he drove to the store to get supplies for testing, taking up more of his time to make us feel comfortable - we were capping a gas line so that is always a bit scary). Then he checked our basement appliances and gave maintenance recommendations, something he didn't need to do at all. You can tell he takes pride is his work and cares about his customers. We learned that he's a third generation professional in this field - he knows his stuff and that's apparent from the moment he walks on site. I couldn't have imagined getting a better professional for the value we got and cannot recommend Franky enough! I will be referring him to all my friends and real estate clients. While I am traveling, my housemate informed me that the laundry drainpipe was clogged and overflowing badly when he operates the washing machine. So, I ordered their snake service special with 3-month warranty offered by the plumber they dispatched to my house just 3 days ago. Since I'm traveling and my housemate's English isn't strong, I advised them to call me directly when the plumber arrives at my house. I indicated that I'll work with the plumber over the phone to get the job done while he's at my house. My neighbor also kindly offered to come by to help with communications. However, as I stayed up very late during the appointment time (12am-2am in my timezone) waiting for the plumber/dispatcher to call, they never did. The switched the plumber, who's not the one who offered the snake special. He arrived pretty late, did not perform the snake job I ordered for, charged my kind neighbor on his credit card, and then sent me an invoice via email with "no warranty". I am very unhappy with them for not delivering the work and charging the person who they are not supposed to charge!! read more

My elderly parents' heater stopped working, I panicked and start calling around but no one could come out the same day. Finally, after several research & calls on Google, got a hold of Robert, the service manager at Rooter Hero. Robert assured me that one of his top technicians can come out to assess/service the heater as well as he can order parts from the manufacturer at no cost to me directly if the heater is still under warranty. Francisco came an hour earlier than the scheduled time and took care of what was obstructing the vents at no charge as well as giving my mom the instruction on how to take care next time in the event the same thing occurs in the future. Francisco was very professional, punctual, and personable. Sure to keep them close for any HVAC or plumbing repair/maintenance needs for all properties we own & operate. No show! We are replacing our HVAC system and had an appointment scheduled with Allied Aire this morning for our third and last quote. We waited an hour and a half but no one showed up, nor did we receive a call. We were both home, watching for Allied Aire, we have Ring that notifies us when someone comes to the door, plus we have a dog that barks when anyone gets near the house. Our house number is easy to see. He never came. An hour later we called the office and the person who answered said the tech told her he went to the correct house and was told the people were renters. Well, obviously the tech went to the wrong house. We have owned our home for 21 years! You would think he would have made an effort to contact us, or to confirm address and name of person he spoke with. I talked to our next door neighbor who said Allied Aire had gone to their house. Allied Aire had done work at that address in the past, but the neighbors had not made an appointment. Instead of apologizing, the person we spoke to on the phone said the tech told her he went to the right address! Horrible customer service! If they had apologized for making a mistake and wasting our time, they would not have received this review! read more

5 star all around. Had a great experience w/ new AC installation. Great communication, prompt, and did a thorough job.

I used Allied Aire for two different issues. One was an AC problem and the other was a furnace replacement, including the removal of the broken AC. They fixed the leaking valve I had identified on the AC but after a few weeks the refrigerant had leaked out. They honored their 12 month warranty and replenished the refrigerant and tried a tube of sealant. A few weeks later, the refrigerant had leaked out again. Again they honored their warranty and reexamined the whole unit. They found another leaking valve, and then they tracked it back to the furnace where the heat exchanger sits. That was shot as well, as was the furnace. We had the owner Arnie visit and give us several alternative bids. Ultimately we chose a high-quality replacement furnace and also had them remove the AC entirely. They also resealed and re-insulated the furnace ductwork that showed lots of leakage and associated dirt accumulated over the furnace's 25 year life. Arnie's crews did excellent work in every case. His company is busy, but they are worth it: high quality work at very reasonable prices. I'd use them again in a New York minute! read more

I was referred to this company by a relative who told me he'd scheduled repairs on rental properties thru them. I was told that someone there named Arnie had been reliable and pleasant to work with. My garbage disposal had gone out & the person who answered the phone confirmed that they also repaired/replaced garbage disposals. I was delighted to learn that they could send someone out that afternoon. I was even more pleased when I was called back to see if I'd be available for an even earlier window than the one we'd agreed on. Well, they never came. I called about 15 min before the window of time agreed on drew closer. I was assured that someone would call me back. That never happened either. 'Not sure why they would say they were coming if they weren't going to. Maybe a late April Fool's Day prank. I cannot recommend them unless you enjoy waiting all day for a service person who won't call or show up. read more

We had a really great experience with Allied Air service. It started with us noticing a strange smell coming out of our heater vents on the Tuesday night before Thanksgiving. The next day, none of the 5 contractors working with our home warranty company would make time to come diagnose our problem. So I had to go outside their service, and pay out of pocket for help. Eventually (about 20 phone calls later) I found Allied Aire, and they were able to work me into their schedule. Their technician arrived on time, and was courteous and thorough. After he crawled under our house, he was very careful about not tracking dust and dirt back out of the crawl space. The issue he found turned out to be a full day job, which they were able to schedule immediately after the holiday. They scrambled their schedule to fit us in because we were without heat for several days. When they came back, they finished the work in one day, with a second day follow-up, and everything is working well now. But that isn't the half of it. What was really amazing was the amount of time they spent helping us wrangle with our home warranty company. There had to be at least 4 phone calls where I dragged their estimator on the phone line with me to explain the work that needed to be done, discuss authorization and what was covered in our policy. This was really above and beyond the call as we were paying Allied directly, and they really didn't have a vested interest in whether we were reimbursed by the warranty company or not. Arnie, their estimator was patient, knowledgeable and responsive. And he helped me recover several hundreds of dollars I wouldn't have it weren't for him. In addition, everyone I dealt with at the company - schedulers, three technicians, and the person in billing were all very polite, responsive and helpful. I will definitely call them again when I need HVAC work. read more

I had called this place to come check out a heater that was installed by the previous owners of the house I am now living in and the guy came out looked at the heater didn't diagnose the issue and told me to change the pvc vent piping. He charged me $140 to come out and tell me what to do. I did so and that didn't fix the issue. Please take some time to actually send out a qualified person to come and diagnose the issue. read more
