I'm a big fan of Rosa Marias food, normally customer service is good. Today, the older lady with glasses who works at the counter (who is not overly friendly on any other day) was very rude and she need not be the one to greet you and take your money. Makes you want to rethink being there. I placed my order and paid, then realized I forgot something. When I asked to add a burrito to my order, she told me to wait and turned away. Then she told the young lady next to her to help me. When the girl asked her what I needed, she said..."I don't know, go ask her". Not sure if she cared that I heard her. Want you customers to feel the same way? Then allow this discourteous and ill-mannered woman to continue turning your customers away. I don't usually write reviews , but every time I do a phone order. Once I go into the restaurant they never have it . I show them their phone number and their location and they say never have it . After that they don't even try to fix the situation they just dismiss you . Worst service ever . This has happened more than once already . read more

The food is inconsistent, and the staff is rude. There is a heavy-set Mexican guy at the counter who always acts like you are an inconvenience, and if you come around closing time, there is a skinny white cook in the back who acts like you are bothering him, as well. It still gets crowded because of the good location, but you are better off going to Cuca's on Highland Avenue. read more

This review is based solely on their menudo. After having rated them 5 stars when they first introduced menudo to their menu, i felt compelled to update. They went from serving Sunday only to Fri-Sun. Guess what, their Sunday menudo had turned into Friday leftovers. I'll not return until their menudo is freshly made on Sundays & I suggest you stay away as well. In fairness, the rest of their menu is always fresh-made and very good. read more

I just ordered a bean, rice, cheese, and sour cream burrito while eating my burrito I bit into something very hard thinking it was uncooked bean I stopped chewing a tried to spit it out, it was actually a piece of rock. I went in for dinner and was pretty much disapointed only 2 meat choices. I ordered the Garbage Burrito and it was small and had w wierd spice to it not tasty at all. They advertise hand made Torrtilas I doubt that because I ordered 2 on the side and they were tuff and rubbery not tasty at all I have had better Torrtilas from Stater Bros. Some lady was scolding the young man taking orders WHILE HE WAS TAKING ORDERS. The staff was cold and rude food was tastless I wont be wasting my hard earned money here again. read more

This place really fooled me I saw quite a bit of people in the place eating and figured it must be good. Nope. First off I would hardly call the food they serve here Mexican, its more of a tex mex watered down version of what Americans think Mexican food is. First clue to how bad the food was is that I ordered asada tacos, well good luck with that they don't have asada , they use shredded beef instead and their tacos were these greasy tortillas with shredded beef, lettuce, tomato and yellow cheese. Their chicken, bean, cheese, rice burritos are the best! It's white meat shredded which is a huge plus for me. The red hot sauce they offer is a staple for sure. Their burritos are the best thing on their menu. I personally think their hard shell tacos aren't that flavorful but I know some think otherwise. read more

So I just waited 20 minutes for my food and I was # 90, they served up to # 94 before I got my food and it was just a burrito and taquitos. After the 20 minute wait and just a "im sorry for the wait I finally get my food". I then take my food home and guess what the BURRITO IS WRONG. First of all, know I love Rosa Maria's and have been eating there since the early 80's (number 1 location). I've been disappointed with my last two meals at the East Highlands location. Burritos were fairly bland and not notable at all. Not the type of meal that I would drive out of my way to purchase. I'm hoping it was just an oddity and not a change of ingredients or recipe.
