Rosario does not have "one of the better slices in Hoboken." The crust is too thick; the sauce is too plain. I was disappointed.

This is such a wonderful owned family pizzeria. The food is delicious and always fresh. The family is so responsive to the requests of patron's both on delivery and in house. I live in the neighborhood and can tell you nothing but wonderful stories about the entire family and how they have treated mine. I'm not alone. Many of us who live here are grateful for their presence and how wonderful the owners are as people. As for the bad reviews? Not sure how they happen, I can only say great things and that's the truth. read more

Great pizza place. My roommate and myself have ordered here quite a few times. Like I said the pizza is very good, he's ordered the chicken parm sandwich and enjoyed it. I will say they do kind of go overboard with the sauce on the pasta. Doesn't need that much, the past at becomes drowned. read more

My go to pizza spot uptown in Hoboken. You can't beat the chicken slices. The only downfall is its only open until 10 so your late night cravings won't be satisfied here. Owner is a real nice guy and offers some good chat while you're waiting for your food. read more

Dont ever order the fettuccine alfredo with chicken. You will get a whole plate of flavorless pasta and about 6 little cubes of chicken. I called to complain about the amount of chicken and who ever "John" was seemed offended that I asked for more chicken, stated that 6 small cubed pieces of chicken was sufficient for 2 people. I guess this place is ok. The decorations are classic, the food is good, but be careful when you get pasta bolognese because when I ordered it, there was a kernel of corn. Eeww! They put a little to much sauce on the chef salad. My dad got a slice of pizza, but he had to get up to get the parmesan. They should set that at the table. When we were served our bread, they didn't give us plates. They don't give you water in cups, they don't have waiters that come to you to take your order, and it's very lonely here. read more

Their food is fine. No better or worse than any of the countless pizza places in town, but their service is a joke. They screw up delivery orders and could care less about making an effort to fix it. If you go there in person you will enjoy waiting to order until the kids behind the counter are done laughing and joking....there are plenty of pizza places to chose from. Rosario's has one of the better slices in Hoboken. They are on the overpriced side compared with Benny Tudino's, but a much more manageable size to eat, and quite fresh tasting. They seem to be a mostly takeout driven place; when we ate our pizza there, we were the only ones sitting. There was some kind of soccer (I mean football) game on the tv, which is a weird way of saying, there wasn't much decor but there was random a sporting event being shown on tv. If you live uptown and back from Wash, Rosario's is a good bet for a slice. They also have cheap pasta apparently, but I have never ordered it (I can boil my own water, thanks). read more

I ordered a slice of pizza, wings and cheese fries. The pizza was the best of the 3. It was a little cold and lacked cheese but the crust was great. The fries were pretty soggy and the cheese was pretty basic. Definitely NOT a fan of the wings. I like really crispy wings and these were very rubbery, skin was barely fried. The creamy hot sauce was really good though. Probably won't order from here again. read more

We lived near Rosarios for three years and never tried it until six months ago. After we ordered, we were pleasantly surprised. Their entrees are solid. My wife loves their Shrimp Parm and I am a huge fan of the Chicken Marsala. They make it with the brown sauce over the pasta and it is excellent. The pizza is also good. I know that places like Napoli and Margheritas get a lot of the rave reviews, but you should try Rosarios one night. I think you'll enjoy it as much as we do. read more

I have ordered their buffalo wings multiple times and they are crispy and have great sauce. This place knows that the wings shouldn't be breaded. I ordered the chicken parm with Ziti with my daughter and the chicken covered the whole plate. Worth the money for sure and the pizza is good too. read more

I love pizza and will try pizza anywhere, being lactose intolerant like I am makes this an issue though. Living in this area gives you A LOT of options and helps you forget you shouldn't be having pizza. I've been around the slices in this town and I would call myself a pretty good judge. This pizza is absolutely amazing. Where many places fail is in the sauce. Rosario's sauce is perfection! The crust also perfectly complements the whole slice, not too much, not deep, and won't crack when you do the pizza fold. Also, and importantly, When you get it delivered it's still hot and tastes like it just came out of the over. Like many Americans I find french fries to be a staple in my diet. You can really fail when it comes to french fries.... but Rosario's isn't so. These fries have the perfect amount of salt and are exactly as crispy as you would hope they would be. Worst Pizza Ever! We ordered Pizza on a Friday evening. After waiting for 50 minuter for our pizza, it arrived cold. When my wife called to inform them, we were told that they will send us another one. The owner (or the manager) called me back with an attitude and said "how can you expect hot pizza on a Friday night?" He was rude and nasty and they were the ones who suggested the replacement pizza in the first place. REALLY??? I didnt know there were "hot" pizza days.... The pizza tasted like card board..... The best traditional (non gourmet/brick oven) pizza in Hoboken! Really great pizza that is ready quickly, when you stop in or order ahead. I live a few blocks away so I don't bother with delivery. The guys behind the counter are very nice. However, their pasta and other non-pizza dishes leave much to be desired. I once ordered their ravioli and the sauce was watery and the ravioli way overcooked. Plus there were way too few ravioli for the price. I recommend Rosarios but stick to the pizza. I do wish they were open later and had a better selection in their later hours. I stopped in an hour or so before their closing time and they said no more sicilian. This is definitely a great joint. The people at the counter are friendly enough and they are fast. Their pies are not never burnt and never too cheesy with just the right amount of toppings and tomato sauce. Today I ordered Rosario's with my co-workers, we made a mistake while ordering, that was realized shortly after the delivery arrived. I called back to explain the mix-up, asking if there would be a way that we could re-order another sandwich (we would have paid for it of course,but a single sandwich does not meet delivery requirements, we would have been $2 short of the $10 minimum) . The woman who answered the phone was completely out of line, and rude. I admitted to making a mistake, and was only asking to order another sandwich and have it delivered. Her response was "It was your mistake, not mine", not even allowing me to finish my statement. She continued to repeat the same phrase, not acknowledging what I was trying to say. My co-workers and I order lunch/dinner everyday, and I can guarantee that we will never order from this restaurant again.. not only because of the service from the phone staff was sub-par, but because the caesar salad I ordered, didn't even have parmesean - and if it did, it was tasteless and grated cheap cheese.. maybe like a kraft? never again. customer service matters, and this is coming from someone who works with the general public. read more

I have always loved Rosario's but had a terrible experience tonight when I called and the woman over the phone could not fully understand me so I was transferred to the owner of the store who took my order. We then decided we didn't want what we ordered, so I called back within 2 minutes of placing the order and the owner told me NO we could not cancel the order. I didn't understand and became angry and the owner hung up on me as I didn't want my credit card being charged. My husband then called and he was much more courteous to him, and said he would cancel the order. Bad pizza. Undercooked and bland. Very little sauce so not much flavor. The surly counter guy didn't add to the charm of the place either. As I was leaving, since there was no garbage can on the floor, I asked him to throw out my paper plate for me. He then tried to charge me for the slice again. I have eaten here plenty of times, as it is my local pizza place. The plain pizza is nothing amazing, but the sandwiches are fantastic! I get a grilled chicken sub with mozarrella, roasted red peppers, and balsamic vinagrette and it is amazing! The chicken is fresh and has a garlic marinade. Additionally, the pastas are excellent too.....I highly recommend this in comparison to many other pizza places in Hoboken! read more

Been going for YEARS, Maybe 8 or 9 years! Best Pizza and Meatball place in my families' opinion. My children are so mad if I ever order from somewhere else for good reason. The Meatballs, garlic bread, grilled chicken and of course pizza are the best. I think the pizza has gotten better over the last couple of years. the sauce remains awesome and the pizza is a little crispier than it used to be. For years Rosario's was my go-to pizza place. However, yesterday that all changed. Friends and I walked through the Sandy-torn, devastated streets of Hoboken and were beyond thrilled to find our favorite pizza joint, Rosario's, up and running. We stopped in for a much needed slice and were shocked when the cashier charged us $3 each for a slice that is usually only $2. At a time like this when the rest of the community is handing out free food and providing "charging stations" to the residents, it is a shame to see a business price-gouging their regulars. Unfortunately, Rosario's is off my list and the list of friends and family. After putting the pieces of Hoboken and my life together, I will be finding other prices of pizza to enjoy. Best pizza in Hoboken, you'd think that would make it 5 stars but Hoboken is a God forsaken wasteland if you're looking for a good slice. It pains me to give Rosario's one star because I do love the food. But this is the third time out of four that my delivery order has simply not shown up. When I call back to inquire, the jerk on the other end knee-jerk reacts and says "10 minutes." When I call back he then "realizes" the order didn't go through. Last night was my first time ordering from Rosarios and definitely not my last! The customer service is great and the pizza is even better! It is so nice to have finally found a pizza place in Hoboken that make great pizza and still taste good even by the time it is delivered to your apartment! We ordered a regular pizza with toppings and then a slice of the Sicilian to give it a try and YAY finally a place in Hoboken that makes a true Sicilian slice! By the way they ran out of Sicilian pies and then made a brand new one just so I could try a slice from my favorite corner of the pie! And then when I tried to tip more (I ordered it online and pre-tipped), the gentleman outright refused to take the tip! All in all excellent pizza and great hearts! read more

The proprietars of this business have excellent pizza. Thier salad is always so fresh and the ranch dressing so delicious. If you eat onions, the onions in their salad are the best! The house salad includes green and black olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, a little bit of carrot, and iceberg lettuce. If you want them to hold any ingredient, they will accomodate you. I like the margherita pizza. They are always pleasant and freindly. read more
