Disappointed with their barbacoa. The tortilla was good but I was done after the first bite. The meat was light colored, no flavor, long stringy, extremely fatty. I absolutely love this place! I always utilize the drive thru and the guy that works it is always so happy and polite. I live in the Helotes area but when I am near this restaurant I always try to make a stop because not only is the service top notch but the food is always fresh and delicious! I love the tortillas here. The best in town. But, the quality is dipping severely. The service is just terrible. I've been sitting here with my family for the last 20 minutes in a half-empty restaurant, and not one of the waitresses has come over to offer drinks or menus. There's rags on a table where someone just stopped cleaning and another table is full of used dishes. The waitress just looked me in the eye and didn't say a word or acknowledged us. She just walked away. A month ago we came and ordered meals with cheese on them. The cheese smelled rancid. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but today is just demonstrating a pattern. After seeing this place for a long time from the freeway, I decided to figure out how to get there. Wow! Was it worth the effort! It's that place you see when turning on to 90W from 10E/35S - on your right - next to the new HEB. It's easy to get to (coming from that direction) as you take the Nogalitos exit just before 90 (turn right at the first light). If you come from like 281 & 90 it's a little tricky, as you must take the 10W/35N exit and take exit 154A (which I think is the first exit). The same applies if you're coming from south of 90 on 35N. Coming 90E, just take Nogalitos and turn left. See map in pictures. My co-worker and I had the huevos ranchero - awesome! The ranchero sauce was the best I've had in a long time. Everything was very good - even the bacon. The staff and other patrons were very nice & friendly and the place is very clean & inviting. This has become my weekly go-to breakfast place. One of the patrons (who eats there a minimum of twice a week) said the enchiladas were the best in town - I will definitely check that out! read more

They have great variety of items to choose from. Our waitress, Aracely, was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the fideo with picadillo and beans. It was delicious. My only complaint was that it lacked salt, but that was an easy fix. The beans in the fideo were better than most. My boyfriend ordered huevos rancheros with ham and papas a la Mexicano. I tried his refried beans and the potatoes. The beans were bland, however, the potatoes were so good and spicy. I would definitely order the fideo, and the papas again, but I cannot wait to try their other menu items. read more

Rosa's is amazing. A little hole in the wall place with awesome food. Tacos are pretty big. The homemade tortillas are so tasty. We got barbacoa tacos with crispy bacon and avocado slices. It's like buttah! The lengua guisada tacos are some of the best I've had. The meat is so tender and it's seasoned perfectly. I can't do spicy foods and they are very good at educating you about spice levels. Very reasonable prices too. So glad that my cousin introduced me to this place. Today was maybe the 3rd time I picked up tacos from this restaurant. I cannot complain about the times before however today was bad and got worse. Our order was ready when we got there so we just picked it up and drove home. We opened the tacos to find our bacon AND egg taco had NO EGG. We called the restaurant and they apologized and offered to give us a new taco but we did not want to drive back, we just wanted to make them aware of their mistake so they would be more careful. Then I took a bite out of the bean and cheese...ugh! The cheese was spoiled! It tasted like bad milk and I nearly vomited. I didn't bother to call the restaurant back. My husband and I decided last minute to try Rosa's instead of continuing down the street to Sonic for breakfast burritos because it's local and the parking lot was packed (it has to be pretty good, right?). But the drive-through took about half an hour, which seems pretty unreasonable for a taco shop. My migas plate didn't come with the tortillas mentioned on the menu. Worse, everything on it - papas, refried beans, migas - was absolutely flavorless and too oily. I'll take oil if the flavor is there, but this didn't even taste salted. We wanted to believe that maybe I just picked the wrong item, but my husband's tacos were just as oily (dripping out of the foil and onto the floor) and almost as flavorless. We're bummed (and frustrated after spending a half-hour waiting) and can only assume the draw of the crowd are the cheap prices. read more

They do have plenty of options on the menu and offer a drive thru for faster service however I was a little disappointed with my experience. Way over priced food. It should not cost $40 for 2 adults and 1 child to have breakfast at a very tiny "hole in the wall" type of restaurant. Their country sausage was green, I did not eat it and the waitress did not take it off our bill. The eggs had a green tint to them as well. Overall horrible place. I do not recommend Rosa's tacos to anyone. I ordered a bacon and egg taco not mixed, I was told it would cost more, I replied OK. I got home and got a taco of green egg that was picked from another egg mixturee because this egg had a slice of Wiener in it, plus a slice of bacon. I called and spoke to the guy who took my order and he said "you wanted us to cook an egg on the grill, is that what you expected" I replied how else would u cook an egg.
