Really great food!! Had the Basil Catfish and it was tender and delicious!! I didn't even have to add extra seasoning because they made it so good! The vegetables in the Yellow Curry were cooked perfectly and their option of sticky rice was a solid choice!! Their vegetable egg rolls were probably the best egg rolls I've ever had!! They fill them with rice noodles which was a nice surprise along with the egg rolls not being greasy at all!! The interior is cute and they don't skimp on the choice of seasonings. Very poor service. The service is very lacking, the servers are somewhat snobbish to say the least. Patrons are made to feel as if we our doing them a favor by eating at the establishment. The poorest service I have received in the Redding area and I patronize most of the eateries in town. The food is not as bad as the service. The food received was fresh and flavorful. This is by far the worst Thai food I've ever eaten. My boyfriend and I waited a good hour for our food and when we finally received our pad Thai dishes they tasted horrible. The whole dish was watered down and the meat tasted old. We notified our server and she said we still had to pay even though we took one bite. I'm so mad at myself for going to this restaurant again and again just to be treated to poor customer service and crappy food. If your wanting a nice dish of pad Thai please take your money where your more appreciated. read more

We are from out of town and went with family. The place was busy and constantly turning tables. Not many empty tables in the place consistently while we were there. We ordered yellow curry, pho, drunken noodles, pad Thai, and avocado spring rolls. Everything was so good we will probably be going back in next few days before we leave town! read more

Staff was very kind. The Thai Style Papaya Salad was a great starter. The Coconut Shrimp qppetizer had a burnt smell to it when we ate it and was a bit harsh to chew... it was a bummer as we were looking forward to it. I also ordered their Pineapple Shrimp Curry with sticky rice for the main. I enjoyed it but I will add that it's a bit on the sweeter side, especially with the pineapples as part of the dish. The sticky rice was also hard chew and the shrimp was overcooked. Their banana ice cream was a little better. It comes with deep fried bananas(and syrup for dipping) with a bowl of ice cream. Their Thai Iced Coffee was also extremely sweet if you're drinking without stirring the creamer, so I would recommend mixing for the best taste. I always get spring rolls from here, and normally they are very good but I had found what I thought was a hair on top of my roll and just took it off and kept eating but then as I was about to take another bite I found what I thought was a bigger hair until it poked me there's wire in my rolls. I'm not angry, but that could potentially hurt someone and I'm just glad I found it before I ate it. read more

Quite possibly the worst Thai food we have ever had, and customer service beyond horrible. Between the bland food, 2 separate orders being messed up, our rude waitress, 1 item not even being close to as described, and our sticky rice and mango made with sour green and yellow mangos that were far from ripe enough I am so looking forward to some good Thai food once we return from our trip to wash away the memory of this entire experience. read more

We just passing through and wanted some Asian food . We ordered beef and vegetables stir fried and all We tasted was the sauce . I could have made 3 dishes out of that amount of sauce , way too much . We also ordered chow mein , I asked for tofu instead of meat and I got exactly 5 little squares of tofu in the whole meal . The noodles were mushy as well and it was very garlicky and salty , so I had to squirt in a lot of hot sauce . Anyway it would had been nice if the waitress came by and ask us how our food was , she was eating her dinner across from us . Although clearly they don't spend a lot on decorating and atmosphere, that suits me just fine because the food is awesome and the prices totally reasonable! I've loved everything I've ordered there! every time we've gone there we tell ourselves we're not going to forget this place but we don't drive by it very often so sometimes months go by until one of us remembers it exists. My boyfriend and I decided to stop here because we never even knew it was here. Words cannot begin to describe how happy we made that choice! Walking in, everything was so clean and organized. We were greeted warmly and looked over the menu. We both ordered off the lunch special menu - an entree (with choice of rice), soup, and salad. My boyfriend ordered the garlic lover with pork and jasmine rice, while I ordered the basil eggplant with pork and sticky rice. The food was full of flavor and spice (we love spicy!) and everything nice. And you get so much for your food - all for $6.95 each! You can't beat that! I'd recommend the whole menu if I could. And, their Thai iced tea is to die for! They recently opened up and trying to get business back, so go there for sure. OK So the bar was set high for this new thai place since they moved into the former building of one of the best thai places in redding, Kanya Gardens, which was my parents and I's default restaurant when eating out. Jenny the owner of the previous Kanya Gardens always created a pretty good atmosphere in the restaurant but the first thing I noticed when sitting down was the atmosphere felt dead, lifeless, no personality at all. I mentioned this to my Dad and he agreed. We ate here for lunch. I ordered the pad see you chicken 8$ (thats the way the spelled it) and my dad ordered the panang curry chicken lunch special 6$. The menu was very poorly done as the titles of dishes were printed in this abrasive red which was hard to read printed over this picture of a thai women which i thought looked tacky and unnecessary let alone hard to read. They brought out the little salads that came with the meal but the dressing was pretty gross. It was like an attempted honey mustard but had bad flavor and was not a good precursor to a meal. Our food came out on tropical blue colored plastic oval plates. I felt like the portions of the noodles were a little small compared to other noodle dishes locally at that price. The noodles themselves were good but the sauce they used to cook them was a bit off. I don't know what it was but it just wasn't good. Also the noodles were a bit dry. The broccoli that came in the dish wasn't stir fried in but rather steamed and set on top. My dad said his panang was ok but at the end was like meh. I was hoping for another great thai restaurant in redding but I guess what we already have will do the job. I don't see myself coming back to the thai house anytime soon. If your looking for good thai then I recommend: Kanya Garden- Great food great service highly recommend (once they find a new building.) Janya's - Have had very good experiences here and has the best ambiance of any thai restaurant in redding. Racha Noodle- CASH ONLY has poor service and most dishes have small portion sizes but they do have some great dishes. Nipas- The only thing i ever go to Nipas for is the drunken noodles everything else here is mehh. But the drunken noodles they do right. I usually ask for less veggies as they tend to put half the kitchen in it otherwise. read more

Amazing. I got the small seafood pho and he got the large beef combination. It's the best seafood pho I've had. Most I've had tend to be watered down. We asked for the chili oil that we love to add to pho but take heed, it's so spicy here! I don't know what they do to it but it was so deliciously spicy. I called in our order at 8pm and was told it'll be ready in about 35min. It was ready at 8:35 when I got there. When we got home, we found that our orders were completely wrong, we had beef instead of chicken, and one was supposed to be crispy chicken but it was not, and everything looked and tasted like they used left over scraps that they needed to get rid of. They were already closed once we realized so it was too late to take it back. The next day I called and told them about the situation and she spoke with what she called the "boss lady." All they could do is remake the order free of charge and was told if I wanted my money back I should've came in the same day the order was wrong. I explained they were already closed so it was impossible to do so. She said all they could do was remake the order, as if I wanted to have another bad experience there. No thanks! Now we know how they treat frequent customers when mistakes are made. There's plenty of other Thai Restaurants in town with better food and service. read more

I get the Green Curry most of the time when I order Thai food. I always get it medium spicy. This time I asked for in-between medium & hot. This green curry was (is) the bomb. Perfect amount of spicy. SO GOOD! There are good Thai restaurants in Redding (thank you cooks). Rose Garden is my favorite. BTW, they don't just prepare Thai (Lao & Vietnamese too). It's a hit or miss here and it's unfortunate. When their pho is good, it's good but it seems like lately it's good every now and then. It's too inconsistent and it's a shame. The last couple times I've been here their pho has had a smell to it and a very oily taste to it, almost like it was old broth. Today I decided to give this place another try because my friend and her sister wanted to come here. My friend and I ordered the kids pho with spring rolls and beef larb and her sister order small combo pho with papaya salad. The spring rolls and papaya salad came out about 15 min after we ordered and shortly after the pho's came out. At that point I decided I did not want the beef larb anymore because our main entrees had just come out and I was already irritated it didn't come out with the other 2 appetizers. I asked the girl who brought out the pho if they had started the beef larb and she told me no so I told her I would like to cancel the order and she said yes not a problem. About 5 minutes later our waitress brought out the beef larb and I told her that I had actually canceled the order with the other girl. She left and came back a couple minutes later and said that I still have to pay for the beef larb because it's already done, I told her that I was told it wasn't even started and I had canceled prior to it being made but she said her boss told her that it's made now and I have to pay for it. I think it's ridiculous and you shouldn't make a customer pay for something they canceled prior to them even making the dish. This place is too inconsistent and it's always a hit or miss. I won't be coming back here, there's many other Thai places with better food and service than here anyways. read more

This is hands down the best value for truly GREAT Thai food in Redding. I have never been disappointed here and especially like the fact that they remember us when we come in. Went up to Shasta for labor day weekend to check out Mcarthur Burney Falls and Lassen volcanic park.. Got up there Saturday afternoon check in to our motel and I say to myself I am hungry so I told my old lady to go yelp to check if there is any good eatery in Redding.she stumble on the this little nice restaurant call the rose garden and she say the pictures looks legit an good but I told her many times we check yelp for eatery in San Francisco and almost all of them was either a lie or people hasa low low expectation which I believe. well mine as well give it a try since we don't want any burger king or mcdonald bullshit.. Got to the place and there was a few tables with people eating and you know what all I see was white folks and I say to myself is going to be shity food again. but as we sit out table and I started to notice some asin folks came it and more and more people start to come in either to dine in or take out or to pick up.. wow that suprise the hell outof me and it took the two girls about 20minutes to take our order.. I guess this is a MOM and POP restaurant and these must be daughter. well to tell you the truth they work pretty good they don't stress out and give people bad attitude like the waiters in San Francisco would do when they get jam packed. This is a break down of my score for Rose Garden 2 star for service why they get extra 1 star is because they have the 2 girls has patient.they never lost their cools even when the restaurant was jamed packed,customers just kept on coming in and out.. Food wise I will give it a 4 star.....well 1st thing is the appearance of each dish we order came out to be a normal dish. looks good and smells good. I can smell the wok air when the dish arrive to the table.. and the color contrast of the dish is pretty even out. especially they are jam packed with orders to be done.this tells me the cheif takes his time to cook each dish to a perfection. unlike in San Francisco they would hurry up throw evrything in the wok and just bring out for people to eat.. It was so good that we actually went back for diner the next day..and I can tell u this restaurnt is pretty consistence with there cooking. I can say is legit Thai /vietnamese/loas cuisine.. and I can't believe that I have to go out all the way to Redding ca to have a nice lunch and diner.. For the dead beats living in San Francisco if you people want some real foods that is cook by somene call a chief than go upto Redding ca to try this place out.. otherwise u can stay with the I won't feed this shit to my dog restaurant.
