If you can take advantage of the groupon deal I would definitely recommend trying Rose Persian. We did the $40 for $80 deal which was quite reasonable for a large amount of food. We had hummus and a fried eggplant dip for appetizers. The eggplant really stood out as a special dish that was seasoned really well (I also couldn't resist the walnut topping). I ordered chicken in pomegranate paste that reminded me slightly of chicken mole. Everyone at the table was satisfied with their stew dishes on a cold winter's night. The groupon deal also allowed us to get two desserts and a round of tea for the table. Went on a Groupon, which is the only way I know about this place, and will go back. Reasonable prices and delicious food. Two of us shared everything. Shirazi salad is great. Mix it up with Kashk e bademjan (fried eggplant spread topped with fried onions) and that's a great starter. (They serve that nice warm lavash bread with a dipping sauce of I think it's plain yogurt. Very nice. We had just the one and that was fine. Both of us trying to rein it in so that was the only bread we had.) We also shared the most delicous mushroom soup. Out of this world. Entrees, we ordered koofteh (a fist-size mixture of beef, rice, fresh herbs and pomegranate sauce $12). I didn't like it because I only like sweetness with desserts or snacks, but my friend liked it a lot and I know it's a popular dish. The other entry was a veggie choice and it was FABULOUS. It's beans and some little noodles, only $6 or so. Maybe called Ash? Their menu isn't online. I loved it. Next time I'll get sharizi salad, the mushroom soup, and the Ash (?) dish. Service is not the best. You have to keep asking them to refill your water. In addition, a lot of the grilled meat comes out pretty charred to the point where it does not taste good anymore and simply tastes completely burned. When I pointed this out to the waitress, she didn't seem at all apologetic and just took the plate and replaced the two most burned pieces with ones that were still burned but slightly less so (so that they'll still cause cancer but at least taste like lamb, so you're enjoying your food while you're still alive). Once again, with the help of groupon I found a really great restaurant. The place is really good. First time eating Persian food and I was impress. Very tastey and decent portion. I thought without groupon, the food is a bit pricey. I got 2 kabob that came with rice and a grilled tomato, about $14. Before the meal, they served us some type of bread (don't remember the name of it) with plain yogurt. It was good, but not memorable. I thought the decor of the place was really nice. I went there last year with my wife and son. We were basically ignored other than to give the food, no checking if anything needed periodically and worse no one else was there so they weren't busy. I have searched long and hard to find an authentic Persian restaurant. I know all the Persian restaurants in the tristate area, and I can assert that the taste of the food here is closest to home. Rose bears the name of Persia's national flower. The restaurant is as authentic as it gets. If you want to try home-style Persian food, this is the place to go. They were playing Queen when we got there for dinner, which is fitting, considering his Persian heritage. A super friendly and courteous waitress served us. Here is what we had, and we absolutely loved it all: - Baghale polo with lamb shank (the rice is made with herbs and fava beans) - Barg kebab served with saffron rice (tender filet mignon) - Mirzaghasemi (signature grilled eggplant-tomato dish) - Aash (it's not a stew, and it's not a soup; it has the best of both worlds) - faloodeh and saffron ice cream for dessert. I have not had a kabab koobide as good as this place in a good while. Just had one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life! I wouldn't leave a review if it wasn't for the fact the owner was horribly rude to me. I placed an order directly on their website(the restaurant uses Qmenu) not a third party such as uber eats or yelp. The restaurant website hours clearly state open on Saturdays 12-10PM. I submit my order and get a confirmation email. 5min later I received a phone call from who i assume is the owner. She was rude from the start, she said the restaurant is closed. I said alright, will you please cancel my order. I did not even mention the fact that if you are closed maybe your website shouldn't accept orders. She then rudely says "I don't know" about 5 times and that it is my problem. I explain to her as the business owner she should either make it clear on the website they are closed or work with Qmenu to not accept orders, as other establishments do. So i go on the qmenu app and its clear that the business can cancel the order. I called her back explained that to her in farsi and english incase of a language barrier. She then raises her voice that she can't do anything about the order and that it is my problem and hung up. I get that we are in a pandemic and people are on edge but as a business owner 1.you shouldn't speak to costumers this way. 2.educate yourself on the app you choose to accept orders from. 3. Have some manners and decency. You can not treat people this way. I suggest if people want to eat Persian food, go elsewhere. Do not give your business to a restaurant that does not appreciate it. read more

I'm not an expert in Persian cuisine but I've been to at least 10 restaurants all over the country and in Canada in the past 20 years. I know the dishes I like and certainly enjoy exploring others. I've been fortunate enough to experience some very good, authentic Persian/Iranian food when I lived in the Middle East and have always been craving for this cuisine closer to home. So I got very excited to find out that a Persian restaurant has opened up in Teaneck (thank you Groupon). We went there with our kids and the food definitely met my high expectations! We tried the fried eggplant spread (Kashke Badmjan) which was so delicious and different (from your typical babaganoush). For the main course, we had Koobideh Kabab/Chelo Kebab...., which was the main reason for my visit. The kebab was just perfect! Moist and juicy skewers of meat over a bed of fragrant rice with grilled tomatoes. Even my finicky kids enjoyed the Kebabs. We will definitely be coming back again. read more

Was there yesterday with a friend who hasn't eaten Persian before. Both of us loved it. I Ordered ghormeh sabzi and it was excellent. They included tadik (rice fried from the bottom of the pot that is hard and crusty...despite other reviews this is a delicacy AND only part of the rice you get) and I ordered the fresh hummus....we did take out...everything was excellent. The restaurant was clean and beautiful. I will definitely be returning. Don't recall if I ever wrote a review of this place or not but just in case here it is. This place is pretty solid, picked up take out this past Saturday and realized I missed eating here. I used to dine in regularly however for some reason or other I just stopped going here, maybe it's the location. Could also be I am watching my carb intake so its hard to cut out the rice since most of the menu items are comprised of a rice dish. I pretty much always order the kebab combination platter for two and fill up on most of the kebabs which are delicious.
