Some of the best sandwiches I've ever had! Owners are awesome and very polite. Donuts and coffee are great. But what keeps me coming back on a weekly to biweekly basis are how great their sandwiches are. Extremely flavorful, great bread, and still taste great after sitting in a cooler all day. This was my first experience with a stuffed cronut. Actually, it was my first cronut ever. Rose Donuts is like your typical mom and pop donut shop. They were one of the first shops in the area to carry cronuts. I thought I had an idea in my mind of how a cronut should taste, but these exceeded my expectations. We got one Nutella and one glazed. The fillings really sent these over the top. I wanted to get custard in the Nutella, but they were out at the time. Instead of driving to the Hacienda Heights for Krispy Kreme, I decided to find a closer location to the SGV that will satisfy my cravings. After a few minutes of Yelping, I settled on coming to this small Ma Pa shop. I arrived around 8:30 p.m. on a weeknight. Although many of the cronuts were already gone, it didn't stop me from purchasing the ones left. I got a custurd cronut and also a bacon cronut. It ranged from around $3.99 per cronut, a little pricey, but totally worth it. The flakiness of the cronut is buttery and sweet. The custard from within is lightly sweet with the perfect consistency. The portion is filling so it is perfect for sharing. I also purchased the remaining donut holes and nearly 2 dozen donuts to bring to an event. The gentleman behind the counter was very sweet and helpful. When paying, he slipped in two additional donuts free of charge. my total for nearly 2 dozen assorted donuts, 2 cronuts, over 2 dozen donut holes, my total ended up to be about $20. I think I did pretty well. Service: Very kind and helpful Price: $ between $1-$6 from donuts to sandwiches Parking: Located within the same plaza as Little Caesars, fairly small but usually not packed. The cronut texture is like being in a forest of cotton trees, bouncing from fluff to fluff until lost completely in it. Instant knockout quality. Pastrami sandwich: I ordered this item as I was hastily scrambling through reviews before my turn to order, the pastrami popped up in quite a few recommendations. The sandwich is prepared with your preferred ingredients, then toasted in a convective oven and served in a lucky basket. The ingredients are good quality, the pastrami is clean and enjoyed with gusto, and the meat serving size is a fair amount, but nothing dramatic. (I wish it were). Coffee Toffee Shake: I wanted something wildly opposite from my usual call for a neat americano, but did not want to risk crossing the border into Candyland and failing to enjoy my stay. Cro-nuts! I'm pretty late to the party and since I'm pretty much unwilling to drive very far for one of these, we ended up at Rose Donut & sandwiches about 30 minutes before closing to try our luck. There wasn't much left, but we were able to snag 1 glazed cro-nut & 1 cinnamon sugar one. I've lived near this place for 15 years and finally stopped by for the first time to buy something last weekend. I wanted to buy some donuts to bring to work and this was the closest one to my house. I came at 8am on a Saturday morning and this place was packed! Most of the customers seemed to be regulars though because the owner (?) addressed them by their names, which is pretty cool. I only came for the donuts so I can't really say much about the other items that they offer. The donut selection is pretty big and there was plenty of everything in the morning. My half dozen donuts came out to be around $5 with some change. The man who helped me was super friendly and I love that this is a mom and pop shop. I mean when it's the middle of the night you don't want to be eating a hamburger and some fries. So I would say this is your best option. I got a roast beef sandwich, the bread is toasted and you can put whatever you want. I mean you can just get it plain or have some lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles in it. I went here at 2:30 in the morning and it was still open. I'm not sure if it's open like that all the time but you will be able to tell if it is open or not by how many cars are in the parking lot. I have been looking for a good, conveniently located place to get breakfast sandwiches for my coworkers before work. And this spot is it. I walked in and ordered 4 bacon and egg and 2 ham and egg bagel sandwiches and they were ready in less than 15 minutes. I also ordered the coffee toffee shake and it was great! Tasted a bit sweet at first but it was actually perfectly balanced with sweet and mocha coffee taste. The sandwiches were simple but freshly made and my coworkers really enjoyed them. Came based off yelp reviews and my craving for a breakfast bagel. Seemed like the place to be based off the line. Donut prices seemed a bit higher than others I've seen starting at $10 a dozen... With that said I ordered the Bagel with ham and egg $4.59 (average) ... it went down hill when I saw them pull out the bagel from a bag... the kind you buy at a grocery store. It tastes okay and they put two donut holes in the bag which were quite tasty. I've been living in TC for about 7 years and I have to say that one of my favorite breakfast places to go to is Rose Donuts. Not only do they serve good food, but also they are a very supportive business to the Temple City community. For example, they are very willing to donate and sponsor events brought up by the local schools. One good thing that Rose Donut offers is very early service. They open very early so people who wake up early can get a good bite to eat. Another good thing is that their food is always restocked when the shelves get emptied, so there is always available food. One thing i really like is the one dozen donut deal. For $7, you get a nice pink box of 12 donuts. Along with their food, they have pretty good drinks in the morning. Coffee is pretty normal and juices are reasonably priced. For some reason, I really dig those bottle chocolate milk. I would definitely get a donut with some chocolate milk. There aren't that many tables, but usually the place isn't that crowded. Rose Donuts is defiantly a pick up and go type of joint. Found myself in SGV in need of some cronuts, and this place did the trick. The maple bacon cronut is utterly sick and disgusting - and I mean that in the good sense of those words. It's amazing! The other nuts, both the do and cro kind, are also crazy good. Sweet and moist, very flavorful. The bagel sandwiches are also not too shabby. So why not five stars? Well, I'm a coffee guy, and in the coffee desert of the 626, this is not an oasis, but a big, dry mouthful of sand. The coffee is gas station quality. Very weak without much flavor. Next time I reckon I'll grab my 'nuts here, then head over to Philz in Pasadena for decent coffee. But for 'nut grabbing, make no mistake, this is the place. read more
