Their food is pretty good quality. Too bad the hours are limited and you can't eat inside the restaurant. Would recommend for a lunch spot.

It had been a year since my last visit when the food and service was impressive. I knew that we were in store for a great dinner date. We were greeted by our waiter and seated immediately. They were running a special for 2 salads, 2 entrees, 2 desserts and a bottle of wine for $140. We both selected the salad, fruitti de mari, strawberries with Chantilly cream, and a piece of bread pudding. The Sauvignon Blanc arrived nicely chilled. Our waiter poured the wine into the glasses for us. Unfortunately, the glasses smelled like it was wiped with a cloth that had mildew on it. The manager was alerted and she poured us fresh wine into cleaner glasses. The salad was basic with their house dressing. Our entrees were underwhelming. The red sauce wasn't seasoned & the crabmeat was questionable. I was shocked to see a spiny lobster in my entree instead of a regular lobster. My lobster was mushy and had to be replaced. The 1/2 piece of bread pudding and cup of strawberries was alright. I appreciate the manager for what she did to fix the problems, but the quality of the food unfortunately has gone down. The quality of food we received didn't match the price point.

WHAT A ONE-STOP SHOP!!!!!…read more 219 is a VA gem, that I personally don't want too many people knowing about. The bottom floor - the Bayou Bar. The middle floor - dining within 219. And the top floor? - the performance space and the side cigar lounge! When I say there is something for everyone at this location, you could not miss going here. My friend and I made reservations via Open Table and had no issue making our allotted time, neither did 219 with having our table ready upon our arrival. Our server was super attentive, giving all of his best recommendations, including the jambalaya, and wings! (Both pictured). We were also seated by the window which was surprisingly not cold (the fireplace was also not lit this night), and was able to have a nice view of the street! She and I love people watching, and this was nice! Loved this place, and took our drinks right upstairs to the jazz performance where we spent another hour or so. Greaaaat performers come, along with great sounds! It's set up as a first come, first serve basis so please come early! 219 is a great place to come for a cozy. comfortable night!

The lowest level has a DJ, the main level is for the casual restaurant goers, and the upper level has the cigar lounge and live music (at least on a Saturday night). I came here for a birthday dinner. I ordered the Salmon which came with risotto and brussel sprouts. The risotto and brussel sprouts were quite good. But I felt the salmon was lacking a bit in flavor. It was cooked well, just needed a touch more seasoning. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits. I tasted it, it was fine but I'm glad I didn't order it. Perhaps my Louisiana taste buds are spoiled. The service was exceptional and the drinks were delicious. The live band was awesome, I just wish I had more time! There's a parking garage steps away from this particular restaurant so I particularly love that. Definitely enjoyed my experience here and would for certain come back.

The restaurant has a nice vibe and décor, but has too may steps for me, not good if you plan on getting lit. Our server was amazing, she was very knowledgeable and professional. Food wise: The cornbread was good, it came out pipping hot, with butter melting. The pork belly was my favorite.... Omg the Pork Belly was the star of the show---it was so sticky and sweet, the eggs and potatoes were pretty good, nothing extortionary. I was a bit skeptical about the eggs being from a carton, since I didn't see any white in the eggs. The chicken was so greasy and slightly soggy on the bottom. I don't think I'd order that again, the waffles were pretty good. I feel like the chicken and waffles are just great for show, in my opinion that dish didn't really deliver what I thought it would. I would return again, the chicken did not discourage me. It could've just been a bad day. I would recommend giving this place a try.

I never been to the Bayou Room but it was a great experience. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a waiter who welcomed us. The ambiance and vibes were great. I hope that I am able to see them again. They were very engaging and interactive with the audience. It added to the ambiance. It was pretty crowded so I did not get to walk around too much but they have seating upstairs, bar seating as well as a general area for tables on the main floor. And you can hear the music and enjoy the entertainment no matter where you sit. They also allow you to smoke inside so many people had cigars which adds to the ambiance. If you don't like the smoke smell then it might not be the place for you. Unfortunately, we did not order any food. However, I ordered an old fashioned which was very tasty. Today, after church, my family and friends took my Mom out for her 77th birthday to one of her favorite brunch spots, which is this restaurant. Very nice location overlooking the water and there was a live band playing when we got there. We arrived around 1:35 PM but our reservation was for 2 PM. Not a problem we'll wait. Around 1:50pm I asked the Hostess would the table be ready at 2pm and would they ready to seat us? She said "It'll be just a few minute, We're waiting to find you all the table" - HUH...Oh by the way, it was a party of 14. Around 2:15pm we were STILL waiting to be seated for our 2 o'clock reservation -__- all except three people hadn't yet arrived...Cool, not really cool, but there was nothing we could really do about it because my Mom and church family raved about how nice the restaurant was how good the food was and she absolutely loves going here after church. S/N: Brunch hours are at 10 AM to 3 PM on Sundays....mind you we did not get seated until 230pm and by this time the very nonchalant managers on duty said they would ask the chefs to extend the brunch 15 additional minutes so that would could enjoy our food. We were able to eat...actually scarf down our food. The selection was great. The food was pretty good, I guess. Would I ever go back? Probably not because even as patient and understanding we were, the service mainly the managers on duty and hostess stuff were so unimpressed with making sure our party was sat and they did not have any kind of urgency in making sure that we were seated at our reservation time and the managers kind of just lollygagged around until someone finally went to the big party that was sitting by the entrance and told them they had to get up because there was only a two hour limit on tables well if the party was told that at arrival they could've possibly planned otherwise and one of the managers even said well we have older guests. We don't wanna rush, but what about our older guests who are 77 and 80 years old who are ready to eat at the schedule reservation time? I guess that's just not a priority but anyway I guess I can say I have visited this place at least once in my lifetime if this review reaches just one person and possibly saves you from wasting your time and money then so be it.

This trip brought us to The Fish Market, as we have tried several other places over the decades. The place is much larger than it looks and has indoor, outdoor, upstairs, and bar area seating. She had no other tables but might not be her personality, which is fine. Knowing we wanted ice cream, we declined drinks, but the bar and its menu were pretty extensive. When we ordered, we landed on the fresh fish tacos and one of the best seafood linguines I've ever had. The sauce was light and didn't puddle at the bottom and was served with scallops, white fish, mussels, and shrimp. The fresh broccoli and grated Parmesan topped off an incredible choice of pasta! At the end of the day, we will continue to try other places in Old Town, but as long as they have that pasta dish, The Fish Market will always be in the running for a return trip!

The waiter asked if I wanted to add an additional shrimp to the order, which I agreed to. The oysters were very nice, fresh and only a bit briny, would order those again. For dinner, we ordered the salmon and the sea bass. The fish were both cooked perfectly. Both the sauteed spinach served with the salmon and the black rice served with the sea bass were beyond salty -- actually inedible. Service throughout the meal was fine but we found ourselves abandonded at the end. The server for our table, and those around us was gone for a long period and even the tables around us noticed his absence. We skipped desert. The check, including 1 glass of wine, and 1 coke, came to $140. I'm sorry, this wasn't even close to worth that much money. Perhaps the Wharf was just having an off night, but my impression is that this is a tired restaurant, trading mostly on its excellent location, that has given up on the concept of repeat business.
