I was a little hesitant to come here after reading some of the negative reviews but decided to give it a shot anyways. Don't be discouraged by the reviews because I thought it was actually pretty great. I can't review their customer service which people said sucked- because I walked in and there was no line at all. The chicken roti was great as well as the other toppings I got. I got the tomato and cucumber side and you can tell it was sitting out for a while because it didn't taste that fresh. Besides that everything else was great. The pita bread is AMAZING, I'd come back just for that The decor is modern and does have a Mediterranean feel to it. Seemed clean overall. read more

I was actually surprised to like this place. It's another one of those Chipotle-like restaurants where you choose a dish and build it to suit your preferences. This place is probably more comparable to a Naf-Naf restaurant but definitely better food. I had the spicy lamb meatballs as protein over a mixed field greens. You can choose various toppings from cous cous, grilled veggies, hummus, etc and different sauces and dressings. This restaurant (the one on Willow Rd.) used to be our favorite. Everyone we took there loved it too. It closed during the pandemic and reopened at a new location on Skokie Rd. Not the same restaurant at all! We used to be able to get a plate or a salad with chicken kabobs or roasted chicken or beef, then walk along a line and get more salads and sauces to make it even more tasty. That is all gone. No Kabobs anymore. No "extras" or couscous. Almost everything very spicy and mostly vegetarian. My husband can't eat spicy. I don't mind it too much, but neither of us could find anything to our liking. The pita was prepackaged and didn't seem very fresh. The prices were higher than they used to be and the amount of food was smaller. We were so disappointed. It was our second visit there and it will be our last. We find no reason to recommend it. What happened to this place? I used to love Roti. It felt like a healthy, fresh, diverse Mediterranean-ish meal. On my last visit, it was like a completely different place. The roasted broccoli and carrot mix: gone. The pearled couscous base: gone. The roasted eggplant + red peppers: gone. Pickled onions: gone. White meat chicken: gone. Now, they've got things like cauliflower rice (which was like eating pure salt), lemon kale, rainbow "slaw", etc. So much of what was good was replaced with cheaper, less-desirable ingredients. What remains isn't even the same: the previously lightly-spiced lamb meatballs are now balls of fire (and dry). If this place was hurting and the options were to either use cheaper ingredients or raise the prices, they should have raised the prices. This is no longer Roti. And, oh, they forgot the pita on all of our orders. Does anyone who works in food service know how to do their jobs nowadays? It's not looking like it... read more

It's been a while since I had been to a Roti but was hungry for late lunch and recalled this location had recently opened. I have to say most of the staff seems a bit lost as though it took 2 people to accomplish 1 task. The manager was doing it all though making food cleaning tables (which was needed as most of the tables where dirty and needed to be cleared or whipped down) while the rest of the staff fumbled thru their jobs. The ingredients looked fresh although tasted a bit old and soggy. Overall it's a good chain but this location has some growing pains which I guess is to be expected when you are a newer location. Hopefully they will get it together. read more

Casual fast diner that offers Mediterranean inspired dishes. Growing up in the Chicago northern suburbs I have tried my fair share of middle eastern influenced diners. With that being said, Roti flavors in their dishes fall short of my expectations. Biggest disappointment is their chicken kabob rice plate. Both their rice and chicken kabob lacked seasoning and flavor in taste . Place offers guest their selection of Mediterranean popular sides such as hummus, cous cous, sumac onions and a few other choices. I am giving this place three stars because I realize it's meant to be a fast food eatery and not a fine Mediterranean restaurant and taking into account the rest of the options in the area, it is not a bad choice. read more

So glad to see this location re-open! We've ordered takeout twice in the past week and it was excellent both times. The menu is revamped a little and the inside has undergone a refresh. They have outdoor heating lamps so you can enjoy your food while restaurants have closed indoor dining. So glad to see them back and happy to have another healthy and quick option in the area. Impressive Fast Food joint, I probably should not call it Fast Food but the food is fast. The food is also of good quality and plentiful. The service was good, the interior is very neat, quite pleasant for this sort of eatery. The plastic cutlery is of exceptional quality. Value is good, not great but reasonable especially when quantity is considered. The Chicken Roti Mediterranean Plate was very colorful, filling and tasty, my son had the Pita sandwich which looked very good. Our drinks were quite interesting, my Fresca/Mint concoction was just a little too much mint for my taste, but I still enjoyed it. Not sure what my son's drink was called but it was very good. They have 4 types of salad and a wide array of yummy veggies to add to your salad, sandwich, or rice plate. This place hired some poor mangers when it opened last year but I'm glad to say, the service and food is all top notch now. You can disregard the low stars since they are all from this time period. 1/30/18 - This Roti still gets 3 stars. Tonight I got the Roti Chicken Kabob rice bowl. The chicken was dried out and the rice was almost inedible because it was dry and crunchy. Otherwise, the food was flavorful. This was our third time going to this Roti. The food is wonderful! The service leaves a lot to be desired. Today, when we arrived around 12:15p, there were only TWO people to handle the ENTIRE restaurant, that means only two people to cook, serve, check out, clean tables, empty garbage, etc. It seems that there should be at least three or four people in the restaurant to handle all of the functions necessary to run an efficient operation. Although our presence was acknowledged quickly, it took almost five minutes before either employee actually came over to take our orders and prep our plates. Because we were under a time crunch we almost walked out. We finally were served, however, they didn't have any pitas ready so they were not served with our meals. We went up later as we were almost finished heading and were given our pitas. I normally am very understanding when my places occasionally have staffing issues, however, this Roti location appears to have those issues every time we go there. So much so that we probably won't be going back for a while. We chose Roti because the food is good and much healthier than many of the other options available near that location. read more

Horrible service. I came in a my husband and our two kids in tow (one is 3.5 yrs old and one is two months old). As I am juggling the kids I politely ask the person working the sauces if they have something like a bbq or ketchup for my daughters kids meal, reminder she's 3 yes old. His response was "no, but there's a McDonald's down the road". You have kids meals. Your a "fast food" restaurant. What gave you the uppity attitude to respond that way to a mom just trying to feed a hungry kid? To add to the already crappy experience, they had no pull down changing area for our other daughter in the bathroom. It's 2021. I had to change her on a booth seat. Will not be returning. read more

This place has very good Mediterranean food. Some of the best that I have had. But unfortunately because of the way they handle their delivery drivers for catering orders I will not be supporting this restaurant corporation. While drivers that deliver regular orders get their tips, on the large catering orders that delivery drivers handle they do not get to keep any of the tips. The corporation keeps them paid staff in the health that assemble the order. It's almost as ridiculous as if I went into a restaurant placed an order with the waitress and then left a tip for the staff in the kitchen instead of the waitress. So for stonewalling delivery drivers on catering orders that is the only reason I personally will not support the store anymore. I can always get equally good food at Naf Naf Grill or Pita Inn. And they make sure their drivers get their tips. read more

I have been here a couple of times for lunch and have had a good meal at a very fair price. Keeping in mind that this is just glorified fast food, albeit healthy, I found it to be of decent quality and taste. They do have some inventory issues. The first time they were totally out of the salmon and the second out of pita. No worries on the pita though, they baked some quickly and I got an amazingly warm and luscious sandwich. I have had both the chicken and salmon. I highly recommend the salmon. It was cooked just right and not overdone and dried out. I think that hard to do at a fast food bar like this. The young lady that took my order today (can't remember her name but wish I did for this review) was extremely upbeat and seemed like she enjoyed her job. Food was fresh, and it tasted great! This was desperately needed in this area. The space is clean and unique. The food is always fresh and tasty. I love the wraps and get it loaded with all the fixins. It's not the cheapest fast casual, but they don't cheap out on portions. My wrap is always overflowing with all of their options. Great food but skimpy portions. It is obvious the staff has been instructed to skimp skimp and skimp some more on the serving sizes. I eat 3 of the 7 or 8 sides offered so when I ask for extra, don't give me a look. I'm hungry. My wimpy salad costs 9 dollars. A few doors down is Chipotle with generous portions sans the attitude. I came here for a work lunch while traveling. Roti is a similar concept to Chipotle, except it is Mediterranean food. I had the steak roti, similar to shawarma/gyro meat. I loved that it was cooked medium. They offer salad/bowl/sandwich options. I went with the salad. The have a power greens option with kale which is not an added cost. Love that. The toppings are delicious and comprehensive as well- hummus, couscous, something like fattoush, tahini, feta, olives, etc. Roti has a nice selection of teas and lemonades that are not overly sweet. Mrs. B must be on a roll, and I do not mean the baked bread type. Once again, she got an invitation to participate in the "shakedown" of a new Roti on the east side of Northbrook - for free, of course. So she accepted an invitation to visit this new site, and we went to see and be seen and eat and get filled up. Since Roti is a national chain, the bill of fare was the same as that found at the Willow Road "Willowfest" outlet that Yours Truly reviewed a few months ago; however, there were a few differences. 1. Since the site was new, the manager and all of their staff were very friendly and accommodating, allowing us to sample a much larger assortment of vegetables and garnishes than they normally offer their regular, non-freeloader patrons. They asked us for our opinions on the taste, presentation, and comparisons to other fast casual restaurants in the area. They also provided us with tastes of soups, cookies, and other goodies after we were seated. It's a good thing that Mrs. B. was given a sheet of paper to write her contents: the way she was eating resembled how railroad firemen used to shovel coal into steam locomotives! 2. Being adjacent to uber-rich Glencoe, this restaurant reeked of upper-class atmosphere and affluent luxury. Out the window we saw picturesque glimpses of the Splash Car Wash, Zengler's Cleaners, and the eternally glamorous Bojan's Auto Body Shop. If you really craned your neck, one could view the chi-chi Marathon service station, too. I enjoyed our freebie, but I must provide an average rating to this site. Roti is a great stop for fresh Mediterranean food. Unfortunately not all locations are made equal. Comparing this one to one in downtown Chicago (Washington st) there is a lot to wish for. Chicken was OK but the rice was undercooked sauces felt like they miss that extra something overall the staff appear to be confused serving customer. I know this place open not to long ago but I was there shortly after opening and it was run better probably by people from down town just for opening . I saw others customers complain that day I guess no more this location for my family. Also kids meal was a size of infant meal very small portions compared to chipotle plus they serve it one same plate as regular plate it looks like leftover. read more

I was hesitant to check it out because of some of the reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. As a vegetarian/plant-based lady, I was happy to see all the vegan options. All their sauces are vegetarian and 3 of the 6 are vegan, almost all the toppings were vegan as well. It was all very flavorful and fresh tasting. The roti bread was plain, nothing special. I was too full to eat it all. I couldn't even finish my plate. I felt very satisfied and not heavy afterwards which was great. There's definitely oil used in most, if not all the toppings but it was still better than most options out there. I would definitely go back and I've already been recommending it to others. As someone else mentioned, it's set up like Chipotle, choose your "meat", dish style and then all your toppings. It ends up being close to $10/person. The store was clean and neat. My only complaint would be how cold it was in there. We had cold air blowing on us and it was cold outside. read more

I had the worst pickup service at this roti Location on 10/27. I have tried contacting customer service multiple times but I received no response. I ordered online from my office, my food was supposed to be ready at 12:34pm, I received an email at 12:26 that my food was ready, I was in the store around 12:29. My order was not at the designated pickup area. I was instructed to wait. There was no one in line making orders. Then around 12:35 it got busy. I stood next to the cashier, and asked for my order again, he looked at some to-go bags behind him, I showed him my email confirmation and told me it was still being made, and I needed to wait, it is now after 12:40 pm. The line died down and he looked behind him again, asked me for my name and then handed me my food at 12:50pm. My food was ready the whole time, I waited 20 minutes in the store, I could have not ordered online and gone through the line at the store faster. Definitely not going back read more

Chicken kabob was dry. The tahini didn't even help. 2x the price of another long-time, established competitor. However, you have more options here with vegetables/sauces etc. personally, give me quality over variety any day. No lamb. Huh??? Staff was fine. Stopped here for a quick dinner pick up on the way home from work, the guy who put my meal together was very nice and friendly. The food however, was not up to par. I usually visit the Northbrook location which always does a great job with their food. At this location however the chicken roti was burnt to the point it tasted like I was eating charcoal, the chicken kabob was very dry, the hummus was too bland and the yogurt dill sauce was unusually salty. read more

Glad to see this restaurant here. Food is good and cauliflower rice option is great. Major concern is that the music is too loud which is not conducive to trying to talk with masks on.
