This review is for my last visit only, usually i love this place but today sucked. I ordered the lunch special of one topping personal pizza, one trip to the salad bar and a drink, basically same price as the buffet but i get the pizza i want.($9.99) I always add a topping for .99 and the total is $11.83 including tax. Today it was $16.13 so i questioned the young lady behind the till and she said that's what it is, i mentioned that last Friday and the last 6 Fridays it was a lot cheaper she mentioned that they have had price a price increase so i asked "in the last week?" blank stare and no budge. After asking again i gave up and ate my $16.13 personal pizza, salad and ice tea, it was all delicious and fresh but the extra $5 stuck in my craw. What makes it so disappointing is that this is my one day i don't brown bag it for lunch during the week and look forward to my Friday lunch away from the grind. read more

Just updating my prior review. We have always had a great experience at this particular location. We've been to a few of them throughout the years and only this location has had great customer service as well as great food. Unfortunately, the last few times has not been up to par compared to our prior visits throughout the years. After my last review, the owner/manager Shawn contacted me and was very open to receiving feedback regarding my visits. It was great to see a business be open to communication with their customers. After a Shakey's pizza recently opened in Chula Vista, it reminded me of Round Table pizza and how both pizza parlors were places my cousins, my family and I would occasionally visit on Sunday's. I searched the yellow pages but couldn't find a Round Table anywhere near me, so I had to look online and I found the closest one to be in Tierrasanta. I visited the website in search of any deals or coupons and the best coupon was $5 off a large specialty pizza which after using the coupon still cost us over $17.00. We ordered the Italian garlic supreme with a medium thin crust, and we were impressed with the amounts of toppings they decked our pizza with such as the chopped green onion, mushroom, and tomato. However, the meat, cheese, sauce and crust weren't flavorful enough and made it a little boring. Also, we had ordered a large pizza and the slices were cut so thin I ate 8 slices, but that is a faint memory I have from my youth about Round Table. I was amazed with the selection of microbrew on tap and the prices of a pitcher were fair compared to some other pizza parlors. The staff was very unprofessional by goofing around with each other and complaining to many times how they just wanted to go home, but the person who took are order and the waitress who served our pizza were very polite and courteous. It was just the rest of the staff that made it a hostile atmosphere, and worried when two employees making pizza were arguing who was more sick and should go home first. If I had over heard that conversation before I was eating our pizza, I would of cancelled my order. Another downfall was that the place closes at 9pm and i think even earlier on Sunday. What pizza place that takes it self serious does that? I wouldn't go out my way to re-visit this or any other locations spread out across San Diego, but if the one across the street from Bonita High school was still around I would consider it. This is definitely a restaurant that I would recommend to my friends or family. Everything about this place is great. They have a very friendly staff that greets you with a smile and shows the utmost professionalism. The thing that stood out the most to me was the cleanliness of the restaurant and the quality of the pizza. They are defiantly ranked high up in my book when it comes to pizza. The only bad thing I have to say about my visit was the time it took for the pizza to be served. I'm writing this review, not on my dine-in experience, but on my delivery experience. I'm reviewing the quality of the food and that's it. While I realize atmosphere is important, food quality is likely what will get me to return. I know a lot of people that like Round Table. But personally, I find it lacking. If you've read any of my previous reviews, you know I'm a pizza snob. 99% of the time I will get a cheese pizza. To me, a cheese pie is the epitome of pizza. Round tables slices are cut awkwardly small. There's too much seasoning on teh crust, and the flavor of the cheese is not light enough for pizza. It sometimes almost tastes like a "gourmet" smoked type cheese. Don't get me wrong, I like my fancy cheeses, but not on my pizza. I've tried their cheese pizza twice and both times I was highly disappointed. If ordering from Roun Table, I actually prefer the garden vegetable pizza. It's hearty, full of flavor, and is filling. I very rarely say this about veggie pizzas, but theirs is scrumptious. I personally will save my Round Table pizza consumption for when we have it at work. I probably won't go out of my way to order it on my own, because I can think of 5 other places I'd rather have pizza from. read more

This place is good for one thing only as far as I'm concerned: lunch buffet. For about eight bucks you can have as much salad, pizza and soda as you'd like! Normally I wouldn't get pizza here because it's so expensive but the buffet is a good deal if you come hungry. The reasons I didn't give it 4 stars are twofold. One, the salad bar always has bruised salad. Maybe you have to come early for the good salad? I dunno, but everything else as far as the salad bar is concerned is awesome. I like the choices for the salad fixings. Two, the pizza tastes good sometimes. Now, here's what I mean. I went on a holiday so this place had less people than usual, which explained why there were whole pies just waiting to be devoured for the buffet. This also means that it was sitting there for a long time, and you could tell by the taste. Had I known this, I wouldn't have gone on a holiday. When this place is busy, you won't find whole pizzas under the heat lamp. The pizza gets eaten faster, so they have to make pizzas more often, which means fresh pizza! OMG! Now that's some good pizza when it's fresh! That's the only gripe I have about the pizza, but what can you do? Overall, the staff are friendly and I've never had a problem with them and the food is decent when it comes to the buffet. I am usually a big fan of Roundtable Pizza. I came here with a friend as we had not been here for awhile. We ordered a large pizza with pepperoni and onions. We also asked for extra, extra well done as they have a tendency to under cook the pizza's. Well, we got a pizza with pepperoni and onions but it was with red, not white onions, and it could barely be called well done also. They must have changed the crust recipe also as what we were expecting original crust came out as some sort of wafer thin crust. All in all a very unpleasant experience and definitely not worth the money we spent on dinner. We probably will not return for a very long time after this experience. read more

I'm updating my review from one star to 3 stars because the owner contacted me about my negative experience. He sent me a coupon for a free pizza, but I not sure I will use it. When I read through other reviews there is a pattern of poor service which is usually compensated for by the owner who follows up. My suggestion at this point would be to emphasize improved training and operations to eliminate the repeated service failures and avoid the need to apologize. read more

Ok, so we all know that Round table Pizza is great so this is more on this particular location.(Tierrasanta) By far this is the best round table, i live closer to the La Mesa Round Table, but that one is kinda dirty, and i leave it at that ! Tierrasanta is good size, has ample parking the staff is super friendly and helpful, service is fast, salad bar is clean, stocked, and fresh. Great beers on tap, fantastic pricing on everything. I have 4 kids and this place is good for them as there is a small game room for them to poke around in (to young to play anything yet) my only complaint is not on them but me, i just dont go there enough !! read more

If I didn't know that Round Table was a chain, I would guess that this was a family-owned restaurant. We've gone multiple times and the service is always great. The people working there have given us coupons when we are paying for our pizza, lowering the price. They have a GREAT selection of beers and a pitcher of the good stuff (Stone, Ballast Point) is under $12. The pizza is really good too. read more

We had been out car shopping for our daughter and it was 6pm so we had tried to order our pizza on line from my iPhone while in north county to save time. I mistakenly did not finish the last step so the order did not go through. When we reached the restaurant, a party of two was ahead of us and taking a long time to order when a young lady (Desi) on break interrupted her meal to dash to another register to promptly assist us and take our order with a smile! This place is a few minutes away from me. This place offers good pizza but, nothing else. The last and only time I went there was on a Monday around 630pm. Went into the tierrasanta location for the first time in 13 years. Service was terrible!! Waited first in line for 4 min while the girl at the counter continued her personal phone call. After I walked away from re counter I heard her tell her friend on the phone "oh, don't worry. He just walked away." when found the manager and explained to him what was going on, he responded with, " ya, it's an old manager from another store." Like I care. I need to give credit where credit is due. I've been pretty hard on this location after a few recent disappointments. I won't recap them here since anyone can see them listed previously. What's important is that ownership/management takes customer complaints seriously and do what they can to make things right. The owner/operator reached out to me both times I had a less-than-stellar review and made things right. I respect and appreciate that very much. What really matters is that I will continue to return to this location and enjoy their pizza (my personal favorite in all of the world) into the future. We order delivery (online) from this location often. There was a follow up survey that I decided to answer regarding something that was overlooked that I specified (when asked) clicking through what we wanted. The owner of the restaurant sent me an email a few days after I did the survey and apologized and offered to make it right the next time. This type of service (was not expecting) will keep us loyal RTP customers. As far as delivery - the promise is usually 1 hour when we order and RARELY has it been more than that. I guess YMMV, as a few have complained about it. I guess we're lucky. Been a RTP customer since living in UC and now this location is our go-to. read more

The customer service was ridiculously excellent. The two young ladies who we were primarily dealing with had exceptional attentiveness to our needs, both the order taker and the one who waited on the table did more than we could have asked for. Smiling faces and an unsolicited customer service were very pleasant experiences. We couldn't have asked for a better pair to serve us. They made the experience well worth the trip. Let's just say I have liked Round Table for years but today not so much. I know Round Table can be expensive which is fine if you are getting what you pay for but today was a day I did not get what I payed for. I ordered a medium King Arthur special along with a large half pepperoni and half cheese pizza with 12 boneless wings and two drinks. Total was around $60. The king Arthur pizza was disappointing because it seemed as if it hadn't been cooked long enough. The dough was a little raw and the veggies on top were luke warm. The large pepperoni and cheese was fine. The twelve wings came with 2 little cups of ranch. I went to the counter to get some more ranch and I was told I would have to pay 60 cents for another 2 oz cup. I said no thank you and went back to my table. I was thinking to myself something is definitely wrong with this. I just spent $60 in your restaurant and in order to get some more ranch I need to pay 60 cents for 2 ounces. I went back to the counter and asked the person behind the counter why I was having to pay for more since I had gotten 12 wings. She says to me "that's the policy but she will let it slide this time" and I was just like wow. This was not a pleasant visit to this restaurant at all. Just made me feel not valued as a customer at all. I know it's just a cup of ranch but as a major company you can't eat that cost of a damn cup. Round Table Pizza rocks and always has, ever since I was a kid and my mom took me there and I played the original tabletop Pac Man and started liking pizza. High quality ingredients, incredible spicy sauce, and the thin crust is awesome. I want one right now! You pay a little more for your pie, but it's great.
