We always end up going to this place for some good SF morning breakfast time when we stay at the Westin SF. It is a short walk uphill and sometimes might have a 30 min wait time depending on the number of people in your party, but overall this place is a good traditional breakfast spot in the busy area such as this one. I have tried their eggs, potatoes, waffle, pancakes and I loved it all. The potatoes are my favorite, nicely done and not as dry as some of the other breakfast potatoes. Once you are at a table the service is very prompt and servers are really great, and look for every opportunity to make your day better eating the first meal. Space is really tight though so keep that in mind. You will be in and out in 30-40 mins. read more

This was close to our hotel so we ducked in for breakfast for me and lunch for my husband. The pro: this place serves breakfast until 3 pm. The cons: the food was not good and was pricey. They seem to use processed ingredients when it comes to meat and cheese, and the egg scramble I got had more onion than egg or other ingredient. San Francisco has so much good food: do yourself a favor and walk a little bit west or east for much better food that's worth the price. read more

A steep climb up Powell Street but well worth it. Friendly, attentive servers. Large portions for breakfast that are well prepared and presented. A range of booths and tables for comfortable seating, spaced so conversation is possible. read more

No pretense. Roxane does exactly what she claims to do: good food, good service, in a cozy ambience. Close to our hotel so it couldn't be more convenient. The food is perfectly fine. Sandwiches, salads, pasta, Italian style entres. All satisfying. That's as fancy as Roxanne gets. read more

Breakfast: healthy portions and all loved their meal. I had the corned beef breakfast that came with 2 poached eggs and Hollandaise sauce on the corned beef with hashed browns & toast (sourdough). Wife had basic breakfast of 2 eggs, hashed browns, bacon and toast. Companions had similar meals and all enjoyed. We went to breakfast about 9:30. We had about a 10 minute wait which was constant and standard the entire time. Service was excellent although they were very busy. The 2 of us paid around $50 which seemed standard for the area. This was a small breakfast spot that I found when we stayed in San Fran. After the steep incline walk we found ourselves seated at a small corner table which was just enough room for us to have breakfast. I ordered the Roxanne grande, the pancakes were heavenly and the hash browns were crunchy. My husband ordered the yogurt and granola, which looked amazing. Overall it was a nice spot to grab a quick bite to eat. read more

this is a great little cafe just a few blocks from Union Square and one of the few places in SF that actually seats customers indoors. The staff was super friendly and got me seated pretty quickly. My breakfast was delish and my waitress checked on me regularly. But then again, I had a pretty generic 2 egg breakfast but you'll be surprised how some places can mess that up. The only negative was the portions were pretty small for what you pay. SF prices for sure. Would love to come here again and try something else. read more

We ordered a turkey avocado sandwich and a triple club sandwich - both with fries. The ice tea and coke were both refreshing. Ambiance was older and a bit outdated. There was also a small gnat that kept hounding our plates, this is why we dropped the rating by one star. This restaurant would be more appealing, with some modern updates to chairs/tables and fly traps. We do want to note that staff was friendly and helpful! read more

I've been here twice for breakfast, and the food is absolutely delicious! We especially love the Joey's scramble and the pancakes. The service is attentive, and the employees are always friendly and seem genuinely happy, which reflects great management. Highly recommend this spot. They also serve dinner starting at 4 pm! The staff is friendly here! But they didn't follow Covid guidelines (6 feet apart). I had several other issues with my order. My chai latte came cold. I ordered the basic breakfast with chicken apple sausage and they gave me pork. I did let them know and they made a new plate for me in less than 5 mins. Their Roxanne special is def worth $15 for two bacons, pancakes, Sausage and eggs. Overall this is a quick place to have basic breakfast, but it's not at the top of my list. read more

Great spot great vibe and decor. I really Enjoyed the staff. They were polite and helpful. They made the experience great! They were adhering to social distancing protocols and the people were all compliant as well. We parked a block away and made it up the hill to the restaurant. The walk was actually enjoyable. To drink we had water, coffee, and the lady had a very good Mimosa. To eat we had Florentine Eggs Benedict, which was good. I had the Corned Beef Hash, which appeared made fresh. It was good and tasty. The eggs fluffy and well made. The home fries were good as well. A few more potatoes would have been better. Great atmosphere and average SF pricing. Between $47-$50. I love this place. I came in yesterday with relatives visiting from out of town. The owner is incredibly kind and worked with us to sort out vegan and gluten free options for my family. The hostess was really attentive and sweet, she and the owner both knew how to connect to customers and make people feel welcome. It was a uniquely friendly, enjoyable experience. The chicken piccata was SO good, and the salmon was perfectly cooked. The bolognese was more American than Italian, but it was really satisfying regardless. We had the homemade bread pudding and all ended up fighting over the last bite. The prices were also definitely reasonable for the area, if not lower than average. The vibe of the place is great, very charming and intimate with cute lighting. We were really happy with the overall experience. I'd definitely come back again. read more

Stumbled upon this lil cafe. Had a lot of charm.. Cozy restaurant. Nice art paintings. Hostess was gracious with the mimosas. We ordered the corned beef hash breakfast and Florentine eggs Benedict. It was dine-in, but enough space between the tables. They have a couple of patio tables for those that choose to eat outside. The coffee was very good, medium roast and no weird aftertaste. Unassuming , friendly and attentive staff. Dinner was very good. I had salmon and hubby had steak. We both really enjoyed our meal. Chicken piccata was great! I just grabbed it to go, it comes with bread, butter and salad. They open at 5 for dinner. Price is a little steep ($26 without tip). Nice place to go if you want take out of a spot to sit down near union square but still far away from all the tourism :) read more

The highlight of this establishment is the staff, my bartender and other wait staff were so enjoyable and friendly. Bravo to the service staff at this place. The cherry on top was that the food was so delicious and plentiful. I had the Angus beef burger and to top it off a lava cake as seen in my photos. We have been going to Roxanne's for years. On our last visit to SF, we were dismayed to discover that they were only open for breakfast and lunch. Good news! They are now again open until 11 PM! On our last visit, I ordered Joe's Special scramble - it was not to my taste, like a flat omelet with the spinach and cheese on top. However, that is a style difference, not a quality one. On this trip, I ordered the triple club sandwich. It was outstanding, one of the best I have had. Even the french fries were excellent. The manager has instructed the staff to require a "certification" before allowing service dogs into the restaurant. That is annoying, in addition to being against federal ADA law, but I explained this to the server and offered to speak to the manager to explain the service dog rules. Hopefully, the manager will take advantage of this educational opportunity. read more

Cute cafe at the top of the hill, white table cloth, and prompt service. The pictures of the food, sadly, wasn't a true representation of what it actually was. My cornbeef hash sunrise was missing the hollandaise sauce and the eggs were over cooked. My toast was even incorrect. All dishes looked very basic so I felt a little misled by the other photos. The upside is the coffee is free refills and they got blackberry jam! Not sure if this place would be the first I'd recommend. But it's not a horrible place to grab a quick bite with some friends. read more

Headed to SF early today, meetings and a Giants game. Decided to grab breakfast at a highly rated cafe. Had a double shot Cafe Americano, which hit the spot! Ordered the Roxanne Grande breakfast, 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 bacon and 2 pancakes. Meal came hot and everything looked great, the only issue I had was with the pancakes, I was expecting light fluffy pancakes, but these were thick, doughy and chewy... could only eat three bites....waitress noticed and asked, and I told her a bit too thick for me... nice place, great service, but I was disappointed, did not hit close to the ratings on my visit, at least for the breakfast... read more

Roxanne's Cafe was an "A-OK" establishment. The staff was friendly enough but not very attentive. I had to ask for refills every single time my water glass was empty-- it wasn't that busy for them to not notice. The restaurant was a little small. They maximized the space to its fullest potential which made a tight fit. It wasn't busy when we got in around 9-10 on a Friday morning, but I can see it getting busier later in the day. Our food was mediocre, nothing too special about our dishes. We went for: 1 order of French Toast [$10], which they cut into little slices making 8 pieces in total--it was "okay." Corned Beef Sunrise [$16] is an egg benedict with corned beef instead of the ham. It was okay as well, the hollandaise sauce was the best part of the meal. California Omelet [$14] consisted of: mushroom & jack cheese inside with avocado, salsa (sliced tomatoes, onions & cilantro) & sour cream on top. It wasn't the worst I've had, but it wasn't the best either. Both dishes came with a side of potatoes and your choice of toast. There are plenty of other options for breakfast around the city. Unfortunately, Roxanne's isn't a top destination. It's decent. YELPERS: You get cash back here! read more

Food here is nothing special. The prices have gone up by 30-40% since last year. Service is pretty good but comes at a HUGE cost -- they charged us $14 service fee on $84 subtotal with a party of three and then expected us to give gratuity on top. What kind of restaurant charges a service fee... Charging a 17% service fee on top of 12% tax.. I'd rather go splurge at the high tea ceremony at the Stanford Court hotel a block up. read more

My wife and I were driving around looking for a place to eat breakfast, fortunately we found this small gem in the corner of Powell and bush. The Texas style French toast were delicious and my wife also enjoyed her breakfast sandwich. I have eaten here in my visits to SF for the last 30 years and it never let me down. Let's start with homemade corned beef hash with poached eggs- it's the best ever! I never eat corned beef hash anywhere but here. The omelets are made to order and the house potatoes are awesome. The wait staff is super friendly and they make you feel like a neighbor. Consuelo the waitress is the worst waitress in SF! ( I m absolutely kidding!) She is so engaging and real, you will not forget her and her smile.) There are about 14 tables and the ambience is cozy and comfortable. You can watch the cable cars with its dangling tourist while enjoying a delightful meal. Get here early if you want Hollandaise sauce on your eggs Benedict or poached eggs because they are out if you get there after the lunch time. Great food, service and the location/ at the corner of Powell and Bush. You can hop on and off the cable cars at the front door. This was the first restaurant I went to on my first trip to San Francisco, only because we were given a discount coupon at our hotel across the street and we were starving. The service was slow, but the biggest shocker came when I got my sandwich. As I bit into it, I felt a piece of sharp wood in my mouth which turned out to be a broken off toothpick. I showed it to the server, who inspected the pick that usually goes in the sandwich to keep it in tact, but that one was whole and unbroken. She didn't say much and just took the broken random piece away. How it gone in there, we have no idea, but I definitely lost my appetite after that. We were immediately greeted & seated by the pair of friendly ladies providing attentive service in the small attractive dining room area; our orders were taken once we decided on our choices; and our fresh & satisfying meals were delivered to our table in reasonable time. We had their special nutella French toast with bananas and strawberries. Very very good, right amount of sweetness, everything fresh and clearly prepared with attention to detail. I think the lady fingers could be soaked and it could be wetter. I would omit the chocolate syrup and whipped cream. It's amazing on its own in my opinion. The platting isn't incredibly interesting, but I wouldn't want it to be. Large portions. You can tell this food is loved and appreciated and they want to bring you in to their family. It's was an honor to come little slice of heaven on a corner in San Fran. We left stuffed and happy and we cannot wait to go back!!!

Service nonexistent. Had to wave random servers down for the check, for a drink refill and even the…read moresecond half of my meal. There were only 2 other tables with guests. I didn't make a big deal out of it but will never come back . Servers so unaware I easily could've walked out without paying that's how low a bar was set for customer service and general attentiveness Food was okay. I ordered the veal piccata, a salad , and wine. The veal was overly chewy and the portion size of the pasta was quite small.
