This European-esque eatery is probably one of the best food shops on Staten Island! With mouthwatering freshly baked bread and homemade balsamic vinegar that will leave you wanting more, you are sure to leave here full and satisfied. Their hero sandwiches are big enough to share! My favorite is their house salad- fully loaded with crisp greens, grilled eggplant and cheese and their square pizza slices! Make sure you ask for extra Balsamic Vinegar on the side! Depending on what you order, can be a bit on the pricey side BUT well worth it. Worst hamburger ever! Over cooked! Instead of one medium done burger there were three very over done skinny little pieces of shoe leather. After picking up my order, I called mostly out of disbelief , at the complete poor quality and was told " that is just the way it is" . No resolution offered. Never again, not for over 11.00. Food is amamzing... that being said it is over priced terribly. We ordered to our job one time and the deliver guy was confrontational. We made him wait 2 mins while we got money and he started yelling at us that he has other deliveries and we can't make him wait. He was an angry rude older man. At one time I worked on SI and would lunch here's regularly, the food was always good. Unfortunately we were on the Island for a family event and wanted to have an early lunch and Royal Cucina was my restaurant of choice. Parking was tough but expected in the city. We approached the outdoor dining area where there was a sign "wait to be seated" the three young ladies "waitstaff at door" ignored my question if we can go into the air condition dining room, annoyed by this we went into the dining area and sat for 15 minutes being completely ignored as at least 4 young waitress' again ignored our presence and continued their conversation standing outside the kitchen. A waitress brought the check to an adjacent table, saw that we were trying to get her attention. Again, totally rude, disrespectful and arrogant by not acknowledging our presence. There is "0" front of the house oversight thus the disorganization and non-revenue generating dissatisfaction with this once great establishment. Needless to say, we walked out after waiting for a server and will never return or recommend this establishment. read more

This was my first time at their deli for a sandwich. I wanted to go to Ariemma's but my husband wanted to try Royal Cucina. He ordered the roast beef and enjoyed it. I ordered turkey, Swiss sandwich. Was supposed to have lettuce, tomato, mustard and mayo. Needless to say that they put on some Swiss and turkey and called it a day. It tasted sawdust dry and I added the mayo, mustard it was missing. They must have been out if the lettuce and tomato. Save yourself the trouble and go to Ariemma's. They make the best sandwiches and do not skimp on what is described. read more

I used to love the heros from this place but not anymore. Manager Jackie is very rude and nasty. My roast beef hero was all hard fat that I couldn't even chew as Jackie told me that there was nothing wrong with their roast beef. I think the food here is great. The mozzarella and the grilled eggplant are phenomenal... The gooey balsamic dressing is delicious, I could drink it. The bakery is great too- the bread is fantastic and bakery items are yummy. Love the outdoor seating. I am big on customer service and I feel that this place is lacking. I cater lunches all the time for work and every time I call Royal Cucina, I ask for basic things like wraps and sandwiches and the girls put me on hold at least three times during the convo to ask the manager. Shouldn't they be knowledgeable about catering items? Then someone else picks up and starts taking my order all over again. At times, they are rude to me and the orders are not correct. The worst part of this experience is the grumpy, miserable, nasty delivery man. I've accidentally given him the wrong floor number of a building and he walks in yelling at me and the staff of my clients. I let the manager know & she basically said she's gotten complaints before and that's just the way he is. I will never order food to be delivered again. When I spend $200 on a lunch, I should be treated like a respected customer. read more

Good food, poor service the old lady who works there is super rude the rest of the staff is also inattentive.

I don't even think they deserve one star. I used to order 3-4 times a week, every week until things drastically changed. First of all, the older woman who works there is extremely rude. Then when I would order to be delivered, the food was seriously lacking. I always ordered orecchiette with broccoli rabe with grilled chicken. More times than not in the end the pasta was not fresh. It's easy to tell if pasta was cooked early and left to sit for hours and then used later. I also always ordered a large house salad with grilled chicken. In the end half the ingredients didn't end up in the salad. After about 6 months of not ordering, I happened to stop there yesterday to order a large house salad with grilled chicken. When I got home and took it out of the bag I noticed there appeared to be only half a salad in there. I ended up putting it in refrigerator and didn't get to eat it last night. Today I went to eat it for lunch and what I found was a soggy bowl of saturated mess with so much water in the bottom. It's obvious that it had been frozen at one time and they just threw the chicken and mozzarella cheese, roasted peppers and grilled eggplant on top. The only thing that was edible was what I just listed. In the past I would order he salad and be able to save half for lunch the next day without any of the greens being soggy but in this salad, the green peppers, onions, tomatoes etc were saturated and mushy. $15 for half a salad that was mostly inedible is a disgrace. But I giess the owner will never see these reviews or ever try to correct some of the complaints. if i could give this place no stars for their customer service i would! first thing i want to complain about is the people who answer the phone, they rush you after you order one thing they say thats it? they should be a little nicer about it. they messed up my order i called back to complain about it and the lady im assuming she was the manager was fighting with me telling me i didnt order what i did. she told me how to correctly order it which i did but thats besides the point. so she said she would send me the "correct" order which was wrong again. very poor customer service read more

I've worked in this area for two years now and I'm always looking for lunch, so today I reluctantly placed an order for hot pastrami and the sandwiches were utterly ice cold on delivery - they mentioned it would be an hour to move the sanwiches the half mile or so to my firm from their ovens, but theres no excuse for fourty dollars worth of cold soggy sanwiches. Sadly, when I worked much nearer to Royal Crown, I'd go over in person, and the service, frankly, is even worse on premises than the delivery; the people working there must think they are selling clothes in Armani on Fifth because it appears as though even so much as taking your order is beneath them. After giving this establishment about 20 chances to do a good job on delivery even ONCE, or to even get me ONE lunch across the counter in an efficient and friendly way, I have to put them on the NEVER AGAIN LIST, and don't even dream of getting a delivery out of these people in a reasonable timeframe. No matter how good the food may or may not be, the horrible (HORRIBLE) attitude of the employees, along with mcdonalds quality service, have me ready to go throw this sandwich right in the owners face.
