Upon being seated I presented the server my Yelp offer, at which time she said that wouldn't honor. It was evident the server was unaware of the Yelp marketing. A more senior server later apologized and informed me that they would honor the Yelp offer,The menu offered a variety that truly capture the richness of Thai cuisine. They use whole milk instead of the traditional condensed milk for the Thai tea tea. The result is a more watered down version with a less sweet flavor profile - definitely not worth the $4.99 price point. It might not be for everyone, especially if you're a fan of the classic sweetness. The Thai combination fried rice is decent but falls short of being exceptional. While the mix of flavors is satisfactory, the dish lacks that extra punch that sets it apart. The portion size is generous .It's a decent option if you're in the mood for basic Thai fried rice, but not the standout dish you might hope for. The Thai pad see ew was much more flavorful than the rice. The flat noodles are perfectly cooked, and the balance of sweet and savory in the sauce is spot-on. The addition of fresh broccoli adds a delightful crunch. The portion size was also generous, and overall quality and taste make it a worthwhile choice. We were in Denton for the night, and were looking for something local to try for dinner. We love Thai food, and seeing the reviews of RY, we gave it a try. We were seated immediately by a very friendly server. Our drink order was taken, and we used their Yelp check-in coupon for a free order of crab rangoons. Our server was very helpful and answered our questions about the menu before we ordered. Great service. Also should say that this place is very clean, and well decorated. We then received the rangoons, and they were quite good. Plenty of filling, and cooked to the perfect temperature. The sweet/spicy sauce that came with it complemented the rangoons well. After a bit, our entrees arrived. My wife had the orange chicken, broccoli, and rice (spice level 1), and I had the curry fried rice with chicken (spice level 4). Food tasted very fresh, and the flavors were amazing! The curry fried rice was spicy, but in an amazing way that makes you want to keep coming back for another bite. However, it wasn't so hot that it killed the overall flavor. The chicken, vegetables, and curry blended extremely well together. Price was very good for the quality of food and service that we received. We left very happy. If you like Thai food, give this place a try! read more

Walked in and stood there for a minute yesterday wondering if I needed to seat myself, then a girl behind me who had been sitting down stood up scaring the crap out of me. Guess she was playing on her phone or something. She was nice and sat me at a table asking if I had been there before. I said yes and she walked away. I studied the menu for a few minutes while I waited for someone to come grab my drink order. About 5 minutes after that, I got up and walked out. Nobody came by or acknowledged my existence as they tended to other people. I understand the labor pool is kind of bad right now, but front of house is kind of important, so the manager might want to be the face up front for a while. I doubt this has only happened to me. This was my first time eating at Royal Yum. Sadly, the experience was not pleasant, thus we will not be back. The food was fine. It is neither the best Thai food nor the worst. We had 6 different dishes and appetizers and everything was fine. The service was horrible and honestly made the experience so unpleasant that it probably impacted my feelings about the food. The server was inattentive, our food was delivered to another table and after they passed two of the dishes around the table the server realized that it was not their order and brought it to us. Not great. We never got a refill on water, yes we asked. We asked for plates so we could share our food and after seven minutes we finally went to find plates and the server saw us coming and brought them to us. Along with us others were having issues making the ambiance tense and the overall dining experience poor. I look forward to trying other Thai restaurants in Denton, but sadly Royal Yum is off the list. read more

It would be 4 star if service was better! The food was great. The reservations I booked online they had no clue about for a large party, even though I got the confirmation email. The waitress seemed busy and hardly checked on us. The spice level on a 3 was comfortable so if you like it spicy get 4 or more. Food came out quickly. Our group did not enjoy the food here. My yellow curry was *extremely* salty, only balanced out when i added all my rice - after the rice cut the salt, the curry was not bad. They chop the vegetables huge, we got a piece of ginger that was like 2.5-3 inches, not peeled. The appetizers were okay, the ingredients did not taste fresh, they tasted frozen. Tonight we went to Royal Yum and it didn't disappoint! The restaurant was clean and the murals inside were absolutely beautiful. We had several different appetizers including the chicken satay and spring rolls. They were perfectly crispy and flavorful! Started with bang bang shrimp which were crispy even though they were coated with an amazing sauce. I could eat a pound of these! I had the drunken noodles, spice level 4, and they were some of the best I've ever had. I might get lvl 5 next time but 4 was pretty good for spiciness. This came with daily soup or salad, I went with soup and it was delicious. Param Long Song was the choice of entree for my guest whos said it was fantastic with its creamy peanut sauce. My lovely waitress Cristina recommended the Thai style pho which is originally served with beef but as I stated I wanted chicken. Cristina asked the wonderful owner if they could substitute chicken in the pho and thankfully they were able to accommodate :). It was so delicious and filling. You definitely get what you pay for.
