First of all, it's a beautiful store. The offerings are clearly visible and so attractive. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I tried the whisky chocolate, the fromage cookie, and the 68% dark, and everything was delicious. The cream in the chocolate really makes a difference. There are lots of different flavors available, and I walked out with a bonanza of things to try. I hope to be back soon! edited to add: if matcha sweets are your thing, this is the place to get them! Most places in the US dial down their matcha flavor. Here, the flavor is complex, with grassy and pleasantly bitter notes of green tea. Definitely love these products!! The first time I heard about this company was through Yelp. There's a Japanese chocolate store open in my local mall (Southcenter)?? Interesting. I put it on my list and that was that. Well, when I was in Bellevue Square I happily bumped into this location and decided to pay a visit. Much to my surprise, they were offering samples of the milk chocolate nama. Soooo good! Very silky and I must have more! Ended up with the scotch barley nama chocolate, which was *amazing*! You can definitely taste it's namesake and I'm very happy with that choice. I also bought a bar of the black chocolate. My bubble buddy really likes the dark stuff so I thought it'd be a great choice. He liked it a lot and I also found it enjoyable. I typically don't like dark chocolates, but there's something about the texture that made it great. I liked these chocolates so much that after a few weeks had passed I went back to buy a tasting box for myself. The "worst" part about the boxes is that there are products that only come in that particular box and you can't just buy them. I've tried at least 1 of every item thus far and I like them all (especially the coffee chocolate!) The box was kinda pricey, but it's technically made to be a nice gift - wrapped and everything! Totally worth the money. There's a great amount of variety while each item has 5ish pieces. It's going to last me quite awhile and I'm super happy with my choice. Their most popular items the various Nama chocolates that are in the refrigerator case. They are potent nuggets of flavorful chocolates. Flavors range from milk, dark, matcha, liqueur-infused, to limited time offerings like strawberry champagne and tiramisu. They are typically $18 a box. A couple of pieces is enough for a tasty treat, so a box goes a long way. I haven't found a flavor I don't like yet. Other than Nama chocolates, I also tried their Potechi Crunch Chocolate - a surprising mix of crumbled potato chip, cornflake, and cookie dipped/coated with matcha chocolate. This crazy mix is very tasty, not too sweet, not savory either. Staff was attentive, not too hovering. Ugh Royce Chocolate... how dare you be so smooth, dainty, and sweet in every chocolate piece you make. We have been a fan for years and they continue to be consistent with their original flavors and new flavors they make each season. We always buy their Nama Chocolate boxes. Each box contains 20 bite sized square pieces and a slicing pick. My all time favorite is the Nama Chocolate "White". I am a huge fan of white chocolate and it tastes so delicately sweet. My fiance's all time favorite is the Nama Chocolate "Champagne Pierre Mignon". You dont taste much of the alcohol but you can taste an extra leathery finish just like in champagne. Overall, we will continue to buy chocolate from Royce. An addiction that we sadly cannot resist when we are in the area. read more

Staff was very friendly, store was clean, tasting was organized , packaging was cute and there were so many things I wanted to try but I enjoyed the au lait, matcha and Ghana bitter dark chocoalte tastings. Texture was smooth and creamy, flavors were melded together well and chocolate was not too sweet and not too bitter. I liked it so much I ended up buying a tea chocolate that is not always in stock that is supposed to taste like boba tea and I'm excited to try it at home. We are so lucky to have a ROYCE' Chocolate here in Bellevue. My understanding is that, in Japan, from where ROYCE originated, there are only such stores at airports and in Hokkaido. The personnel at this location gave us a very warm welcome and made us feel like VIP clients. We had the delight of having Megan as our chocolate guide. She was absolutely endearing and provided us with excellent recommendations. We even bonded over our mutual love for matcha. The packaging of our purchase was also impressive. We left the store feeling proud holding a stately Royce bag. Highly recommended! I would definitely return. If you're not sure what to get, I would recommend any of the nama series. Nama chocolate is a type of ganache, which is made from a mix of melted cacao and fresh cream and, as such, must be kept below 10 degrees Celsius. read more

The staff here is extremely friendly and accommodating, and provided quite a bit of information about the different types of chocolates they had available. This time around I tried the Ghana Bitter Nama Chocolate, which is a dark nama chocolate (it contains dairy) that is incredibly smooth. Despite the name, the chocolate is not actually very bitter, but has a very rich dark chocolate taste. The texture, though, is what will impress you the most. It's softer and smoother than a fudge, but closer to that in texture than hard chocolate bars. The nama chocolates today are $20 a box, which is pretty reasonable when you compare it to other high end chocolates. I'm not a chocolate lover, I don't usually even lean for chocolate at all and I hate dark chocolate- guess I haven't built up the acquires taste for bitterness! But after trying the dark chocolate here which is only 62% dark cocoa, MY OUTLOOK HAS CHANGED!!! I will be asking for these chocolates every year for my birthday, they're a splurge item- it's $19.99 per box. SURPRISINGLY LOW IN CALORIES ! Their nama chocolate is THE BEST (refrigerated). It's super creamy from Hokkaido and it almost feels like you're eating ice cream. This is not your regular smegular hersheys, it's not overboard with the sweetness so you could probably eat half the box in one sitting. I loved the seasonal strawberry and milk chocolate a lot. Their matcha Nama is also delish because you can taste the matcha flavor but was a tad too sweet for me after going from the dark chocolate to white chocolate and matcha. I'm excited to come back and try their cookies and wafers! I also heard there would be a hazelnut Nama coming in the fall so I will definitely be picking that one up. read more

Ghana bitter, (forget the name but more like milk chocolate) and matcha. I'm not really a dark chocolate fan but out of the two chocolates (matchas white) I liked the Ghana bitter the best. My favorite of the day was the matcha. It had an excellent flavor. I purchased a package of the matcha and even my husband who doesn't like match loved it. Now for a moment let's talk about the customer service. Megan helped me today. From the moment I walked into the boutique she was friendly and helpful. I love the chocolate here but I am subtracting a star due to the price and how their rewards program is run. You have to spend $40 in 1 visit to earn 1 star and there's no reward until 10 stars later so minimum spend is $400+ because products are priced just below $10 and just below $20 mark... After my Yelp chocolate sampling, we bought 2 flavors that were not part of the sampling. I enjoyed the Ghana bitter but wanted the Bitter which has the 1 percent brandy in it as I enjoyed the complexity the hint of alcohol added. We also got the Hojicha. The matcha is boring to me and the flavor is not intense enough for me as a matcha lover but the Hojicha was perfect. I get the milk chocolate flavor with the roasted green tea so it was not too sweet. I think this place will go into my regular rotation when I want a treat, especially the seasonal flavors. read more

I absolutely love their chocolate strawberry wafers, they're delicious, and I've never had anything similar. I also love the chocolate coconut baton cookies (I don't even like coconut, but these have a perfect buttery, crisp, crumbly texture) I also recently had a sampler from them that contained pistachio cream filled chocolate bears, delicious and adorable.
