Absolutely unacceptable service. I had a 9:00 AM appointment for what should have been a simple tire repair. I arrived at 8:55 AM, five minutes early, and by 10:17 AM I was still sitting there waiting. After waiting for over an hour, I finally had to go ask what was taking so long. Only then did I find out that they supposedly needed to order a part and that I would have to wait another 40 minutes for it to arrive. The worst part isn't even the delay it's the complete lack of communication. Nobody came to tell me there was a problem. Nobody gave me an update. Nobody asked if I was okay waiting that much longer. They apparently just expected me to sit there indefinitely as if I had nothing else to do with my day. What is the point of making a 9:00 AM appointment if you don't respect the customer's time? If you discover that a repair is going to take significantly longer than expected, the absolute minimum you can do is COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR CUSTOMER. I should not have to chase employees down after sitting there for over an hour just to find out what is happening with my own car. Extremely frustrating, disrespectful of my time, and very poor customer service. I will definitely think twice before bringing my car back to RPM Automotive. read more

I'm pretty disappointed in this shop. I gave it two stars because I don't believe they ripped me off by any means, however I don't think they even diagnosed my vehicle. I took my civic in because it turned off in the middle of the road. I took it in, and it took a few days to hear back. Finally they told me nothing is wrong with the car. Well a few months later same thing happens. I did a pretty simple diagnostic on the car and several errors came up regarding the ECU. I have no idea how they didn't catch this or even mention it- and it easily could've caused me to be in a wreck. Probably won't go back and a little disappointed because I heard great things. read more

Service has been fine up until today, gone a couple times. Writing this to help anyone else out with this location in particular: Assumed a tire rotation was the same price as last appointments, and the other locations as well (9.99 across the board) but turns out it's "conditional" here and not the case. Charged $39.99 instead without knowledge of that. They said here it's only an "add on price" of 9.99. it's interesting because every other RPM locations in the area unanimously agreed that 9.99 is the tire rotation price regardless of the appointment, but if you bought tires there it's an even better deal. Apparently not the case here. They continued to mention that "they are the busiest store" and maybe the other stores just need to drum up business - despite the other stores having more + better reviews. I'm open to deleting this if they make it right but otherwise I'll probably avoid in the future. read more

Could not help me at 3:30 PM to look at my car. The mechanic went home early. I managed to repair it myself once I got to Orlando.

I'm giving them a four out of four stars. Why? I'll admit, I didn't have an appointment for my car, but showed up right when they opened. To my surprise there were several other customers there. A mechanic mentioned when I checked in that the manager hadn't showed up yet, and they couldn't put me in the system until someone came in to check me in. First rule of being a customer, realize that things happen and pointing fingers doesn't help. If you can't stay, leave or go somewhere else. If you can stay, be patient, so that's what I did. A gentleman from another store showed up, was pleasant with each waiting customer and he had to wait until someone else came in, so he could get signed into the computer. After about 30 minutes of waiting, he was able to log into the computer and get me in the system. He said it would take about an hour/hour and a half to get my oil change done. So I left my keys, and walked to a coffee shop nearby. About an hour later I got a call and he said my car would be done in about 20 minutes. He also mentioned I needed new tires and there was actual cable showing through my tires (yikes). I asked him to provide me with a quote for new tires. When I left the coffee shop about 20 minutes later, my car was ready to go. The guy gave me a quote and I let him know I'd look into getting new tires. I never felt like they were trying to sell me on something I didn't need, I felt like their prices were fair, and the staff was friendly. read more

I recently moved to the area. 3 challenges when moving are finding a 1) hair salon, 2)qualified veterinarian and 3) a professional and reasonably priced mechanic. I'm happy to say after my experience today, I've found all 3. Diagnosis to work completion was under 2 hours. Price was less than I was anticipating Totally satisfied. read more

Boy is this place a JOKE!! New to the area. Did a quick search for a Pep Boys as I'm familiar with their work. Phone number and address pop up so I call. Say hey, need my brake fluid changed can you squeeze me in. They say we can have it done before end of day. So I drive to the location listed and end up at someone's house by beach walk. I call the number again and the guy says that's not our address and gives me a new one. No apology but whatever. I head to the second provided address. Says RPM on the sign? Weird but ok. I head to the front desk say hey I called, are you guys not a pep boys? He says no. I said your number is listed as pep boys, he shrugged his shoulders, could care less. Frustrating but I look up RPM see reviews are decent and decide to give them a try. Tell him I need air in the tires, and the brake fluid changed. He says ok. Takes the keys. Says we'll call you. It's Friday at 1:00, whole day goes by no call. Saturday at 12:00 get a call say car is ready for pick up. We are mid activities for the day figure we will go by at 4:00. At 4 we head their direction and decide to call first. Business is listed as closed, no one answers the phone when we call to double check. We decide to not go by as it is very out of our way. Sunday they are closed again, Monday we go by at 4:00. Older guy who checked me in Friday hands me my keys said here you go. I say, I haven't paid? He says, we didn't do any work on this vehicle. WHAT?! Three days they had my car and didn't do anything??? Why call me Saturday and say it's ready for pick up?? He said we never got approval to change the brake fluid when we sent it to you. They sent me an invoice via pep boys (again what??) stating what needed to be done but never did it. I specifically requested the brake fluid and air in the tires and expected those things to be done after three days, anything I didn't ask for should require authorization but not what I did ask for. The man who works the desk is disorganized and rude. Very condescending to women, lied multiple times when asked questions (this review can't cover everything). They did NOTHING and didn't bother to call and get my car back to me or get "approval". I will NEVER return and will tell others to avoid this place. read more

These guys are good. I moved here 3 months ago. Thought I had a tranny issue. I was so worried I would get gouged. The actual shop is clean and organized, the team behind the counter was courteous told me they would call after a test drive and computer diagnostic combined. Turned out to be a cylinder coil. And they reminded me plugs were original with 150k miles on them. Had throttle body cleanded....total $900. Vs the fear of $3000+ None of the local reviews covered big jobs. More oil changes and brakes. read more

I've gone here twice and both times I was really impressed. You won't find a more professional location to have your vehicles serviced than here. The first time I had work done was on my last pick up truck. They did brakes/ rotor, new shocks and an oil change all in an afternoon. They sent pictures to my cell phone of the rotors to show me they needed to be replaced. The pictures left no doubt that the work needed to be completed. The second visit my wife had a light kit installed on her BMW. The estimate they gave her was for 3 hours of labor as per the book. After they completed the job in 2 1/2 hours they charged her for 2 1/2 hours of labor. This rarely happens in any shop. If the job takes longer, most mechanics will charge more then the estimate. Very rarely, if ever, will they make the final bill less then the book labor cost. I worked in a couple of mechanic/ auto repair locations during college and lowering the book estimate was unheard of. They seem like a very honest location you can trust. Hope this holds true for everyone who goes there based on this recommendation. read more

I took my vehicle here with a known issue which was a bad water pump. I called this place and told them I had a bad water pump and asked for a quote for them to replace it for me. They said they would need to look at it, so I said OK and drove it up there and dropped it off as they were busy and couldn't look at it immediately. They called me back and hour before closing time to confirm that it was the water pump and quoted me $1600 dollars for the replacement, so I kindly said no thank you. Went to pick up the vehicle the next morning and they said I owed them $60 dollar for a diagnosis charge which was absolutely never mentioned at any point. Super hilarious to get charged $60 for confirmation of a problem that I told them about on top of the outrageous quote. read more

I had decided to try RPM for the first time due to the many positive reviews from outside sources and because I had the feeling that my regular mechanic had just become an expensive parts changer. I made an appointment for an oil change a few days later in the week. I had no problem finding the place, although I was hesitant of the traffic with I-95 nearby. I had no worries as I drove up. Place was clean and intake was easy and pleasant. There was no unpleasant up selling. Although I was 10 minutes early, they took my car in immediately. I fiddled with my phone as approximately 30 minutes went by. I paid and left. No drama, no hassles . I just found my new mechanic for my 3 cars! read more

As a single woman, I am so used to guys at places like this trying to upsell me and turn what should have been a minor task into something way more expensive. These guys are nothing like that. They took care of what I needed - very quickly, might I add - and when I came in the next day for a quick additional adjustment, they took care of it in no time, at no cost. These guys are trustworthy and respectful, and I will definitely be using them for everything going forward. read more

So after deciding to give this place a chance after the negative reviews, I would give it ZERO stars if I could. My wife took our car to RPM to inquire about an oil change. After being put on hold abruptly, she decided to drive by since she was in the area. She was met with two Men behind the desk that decided to "have a laugh at her expense". They asked if she had an appointment to which she said "No, I tried to but, you Put me on hold for 4 minutes, so I drove over here". Then the younger guys continued to jest. The older man thought this guy was funny until my wife left and told them she was taking her business elsewhere. The older man then jumped up, gave her a business Card and told her they could possibly help after their employees came back from vacation. My wife is super mechanical (firefighter) and did not appreciate the "good ol boys club" approach to women. We won't be returning to a company that patronizes women and does not offer solutions to problems. read more

DONT COME HERE!!! Took my girlfriends car here for a coolant leak. "Claimed" to have fixed the leak. 2 weeks later check engine light came on. Brought it in again after i ran the code and was told itd be a 1300 job. Brought the car to a different place for a second opinion and what do you know... the coolant was still leaking. Not only did they not fix the problem but also lied about it 2 weeks later. When confronted on why we didnt let them do the 1300 job we told them they never even fixed the leak... they ignored it and were more concerned about the parts they ordered for nothing LOL. Not only that but they charged $118 for a diagnostic when famous automotive only charged $50. Save your money and go elsewhere this place is a scam. (Charged the person next to me over $120 for oil change and tire rotation) HAHA. read more

If you have time to wait days in line and with no promise of fixing your problem, give them a call. They don't call. You call them for any updates on your car. They really should give you a discount if they diagnose and can't find the issue or put credit towards the cost of repair, considering how much they charge you. Not sure if I'll be back again. I found another shop, a little further, who fixed our issue and billed us for the fraction of the cost and no additional diagnosis fee. read more

I've been coming to RPM for 3 yrs for all of my car needs. I came to get my oil changed which should take 15-45 min depending on how behind they are. My oil change ended up taking two hours and 30 min. They broke off a cap, which "happens all the time" yet they didn't have the part on hand to replace it. If this happens all the time, I feel like they should have plenty of inventory to replace the parts. The front desk guy had to drive all the way to the avenues in 5 o clock traffic to get the part, and drive back. I've worked in customer service for 10+ years, and I understand things happen but there was 0 communication on if the guy was close to coming back. I had to ask the manager if he had an estimate on when they think they'd be done. If you have time to waste, come to RPM. If not, go to jiffy lube. read more

I am an automotive vendor and have been to almost every shop in Jacksonville selling batteries, transmissions, engines etc.... RPM automotive is where I take All my cars too For the past 20 years. Trust is the biggest key in dealing with an automotive shop and I trust rpm implicitly. Skip and Justin at the 210 store are knowledgeable and communicative and will get your car fixed right or at least tell you what you need to do to get your car fixed right. I'm not sure what more you would want from an automotive shop. Clean courteous fixed right. read more

I was in search for information regarding my Cobalt transmission issues. With reaching out to Yelp, I located RPM Transmissions on CR 210. First, I was impressed with all of the reviews. The customer service experience was quite welcoming. I returned to pick up my vehicle about 30 minutes before closing, again I was welcome with a staff of very friendly service techs that worked a full day. With the Service Tech unable to recapture the bill for the military discount, I was then rewarded with a coupon for a free oil change valued @ $35. Last, I left enjoying the experience, the complete service of my vehicle with a price reduction less than the diagnostic testing service fee and a customer for life. My girlfriend and I were caught with a flat tire on our way home with 150 more miles of our drive left and were able to make it to RPM automotive. Immediately we were approached and Michael was at our service. The rims on my car have long lug nuts needing a special extension socket to remove them. They helped completely change my tire and also added some extra air in my other tires. The entire staff was very friendly, articulate, and personable including the customer service at the front desk! Such nice and helpful people at RPM Automotive! Was towed here from a AAA service call after our serpentine belt broke and they had it up on a lift with a diagnosis within the first 15 minutes there. Unfortunately, there were larger problems, making the cost of repairs more than the value of the car, but the staff was extremely honest in telling us it might not be worth fixing and took the time to explain exactly what was wrong to my dad over the phone. Overall, super friendly and honest staff who let us keep the car there over the weekend and gave us numerous water bottles while we dealt with the car debacle. (greatly appreciated). My husband and I took a long roadtrip down to Florida with the coolant cap off! (It's okay, you can laugh.) Almost all of the coolant boiled away by the time we got to our destination and we put some universal coolant in to get it to the shop without overheating. I called ahead and the guy I spoke to was very understanding of our situation - it was a busy Monday for RPM but we were stranded far from home, so he told us to bring it in for a coolant flush and oil change. They ended up keeping it overnight to get it all out, and called me early Tuesday to let me know it was ready. The car is running great and we're excited to get on the road again. The staff was friendly and professional, the price was fair, the service was fast and thorough - I hate that we don't have an RPM in our hometown! Thanks for your help, guys!! read more

I went there this morning with my wife's Volvo. The AC had been leaving a huge puddle of condensation lately, much bigger than we were used to. I spoke to the lady at the counter and described my concern. She came outside with me and looked at the car-after popping the hood and looking at the engine compartment she asked me a few questions and told me that the amount of condensation was pretty normal for Florida (we had moved here within the last few months) and there wasn't anything wrong. She had a mechanic put it on a lift anyhow and he gave it a visual inspection and pronounced it sound. No charge for the inspection. When I do have a problem I'll be back. read more

These guys are great mechanics and know their stuff, aside from the dealership they're about the only shop I would trust in my area to do any major repairs. They're also honest and don't try to tell me I have things wrong with my car that aren't. With that said, for anything that is not major I will not waste my money here, while the labor costs are not unreasonable for the quality of work, they jack the price of parts up like crazy and refuse to let you bring your own parts ... For perspective, a $35 to $40 part was increased to about $50, but shocks and quick-struts cost over double what it would cost for me to get the same exact new parts myself, with the parts covered by the manufacturer's lifetime warranty, adding around $500 to the cost of repair, the same happened with spark-plugs TLDR: Some of the best mechanics around, Honest people (no fake problems), occasionally Not worth it due to price gouging on parts If it's really important or complex, you can be confident that they'll do it right. If it's not complicated, like maintenance or simple/common repairs, save the money and go elsewhere. read more

Dishonest. Fabricate lies telling you need new parts and of course the labor to install them when in fact you don't. BEWARE - these guys are crooks. I took my truck in to get the alignment checked. 2 hours later they called and said that they can't do the alignment because the ball joints were bad and needed to be replaced before they could do the alignment and charged $50 to tell me that. Their cost estimate to replace the ball joints was $750. I coughed up the $50 and left. The next day I took my truck to a specialist alignment shop (all they do is alignments). They called an hour later and said the truck is aligned and ready to pick up. Cost $65. When I picked up my truck I asked if the ball joints were good and he said all the parts on the front end were good. I will never do business with RPM Automotive again. read more

I am from out of the country (I live in Mexico) and needed some serious tire, frontend alignment, and a few electrical issues taken care of... The front desk people were friendly, informative and very professional... Within about 5-10 minutes they had taken all my information and had taken my truck into their shop area... Then, after going thru all my issues, they invited me back into their shop to speak with the mechanic and he pointed out all the things that were wrong with my vehicle... The shop was clean, well organized, and efficient...! I also needed new tires and the front desk assisted me in selecting the best tires for my truck at the most reasonable price... It took just over 4 1/2-hours to complete all necessary repairs... When I paid my bill and drove out of their shop, I felt like I was driving a brand new truck...! They were really, really great...! I recommend them to any one who needs serious or even minor repairs on any vehicle you may have... I also needed their advice on some other issues with my truck and they were extremely helpful in recommending other vendors who could help me with other things that my truck needed...
