Let's start with the food, absolutely phenomenal. Fresh, tasty, and very satisfying. We enjoyed salmon tacos, the avocado corn taco salad, and some chips and guacamole. Secondly, the staff and atmosphere was fantastic. Sky was very helpful with food recommendations and made us feel super welcome. Never had a bad meal at any Rubio's. Heading up to Montclair for a wedding tomorrow. My wife ordered a veggie bowl with a large side of citrus lime rice. I ordered the Original fish taco-all to-go. I also checked in and got a free large drank. This pomegranate lime lemonade is delish. Reminds me of Native Foods' lavender pink lemonade. UPDATE: We were out in the parking lot leaving when the young lady who took our order came running towards us. Seems my wife left her iPhone on the counter inside. She saved our lives! We decided to get Rubio's since I was craving a California Shrimp Bowl. We ordered online so we could just scoop to pick it up. When I went inside there was 4 workers. Two by the grill and two by the cash register. I wasn't greeted when I arrived. I stood there for 7min before anyone acknowledged me. As I stood there I watched one person on the grill just tossing all the ingredients in the bowl. He seemed to hate his job. The area that you placed the food to put together was filled with food and dirty. One cook finally started cleaning it, I would assume it's because I was standing there watching. My bowl which comes with Romaine lettuce had two pieces... My husband said his tacos didn't seem as good as they had been. They also forgot our drink. I also saw a dead cockroach in the seating area. 5 stars for this place and Brandin the clerk that took my order! Come in for old times to get the crisp fish tacos but was extra hungry. The energy Brandin had was great and I wish more places had the same energy and people. He recommended the new gourmet bacon and shrimp taco on the side. SOLD lol so good. I really don't like leaving bad reviews. But the only 2 times I've ordered from here, they messed up. Careless mistakes that show they don't double check the orders and they do not pay attention to detail. First time, I ordered the mango mahi tacos, my hubby drove to pick it up (I'm pregnant and was craving them) only to come home with a different mahi taco with corn. I was NOT happy. My hubby drove all the way back just so I could have what I truly wanted. It's not that hard to double check the order... Second time, today, I used Uber Eats, and got myself and my toddler food. They didn't even include the side for my toddlers kids meal. Just super frustrated because food isn't cheap these days, and maybe I would want to come back if I knew they cared and were mindful of making and packing their food, but they're clearly not. It sucks. Again I hate leaving bad reviews. But this is my honest feedback so maybe (hopefully) management will see this and train their staff better or hire some more motivated workers. read more

Rubio's is always a good option for seafood. The recent order I made they forget the tortillas in the build your own taco. They promised to remake my order and it's a rare occasion they make a mistake. To go cashiers should be checking for these things before the customer leaves as it's hard to build a taco without the tortilla lol. However the food is always fresh and hot. This is for the people who think Rubios is a little overpriced. I usually get a fish taco from Del Taco thinking "well its cheeper". Boy did i screw the pooch the fish tacos are not only better but also you get your moneys worth. I haven't been to a Rubio's in ages, and the one in my neighborhood shut down several years ago. After visiting this location, I wish they would come back. Fast, healthy fish tacos AND at a reasonable price AND a salsa bar AND a clean dining room! What more could I ask? Well, actually I could use a margarita. And they almost hit the mark, as they do have beer and wine. Perhaps they could be persuaded to add those canned/bottled Lime-a-Rita's. I could live with that! I just had one of the most frustrating and inappropriate experiences at your restaurant. When my family came in we ordered with Emma. She was polite and helpful. I ordered the lunch special fish tacos without sauces, also a shrimp especial taco with no sauces as well. We ordered a chicken bites kiss meal for my son and a lobster and steak burrito for my husband . We used a coupon that was emailed to us. We ordered at 1:58. At 2:10, some food came... first, my husbands burrito and my 3 tacos. All the tacos had sauces. I told Lisa that they were supposed to not have any sauces. She said, "no, you didn't say no sauce at all, you need to be more clear next time but I'll take them back... are you sure you want to do that?" I said yes. No kids meal or milk for my son. So i told my husband to eat his food. 2:15... I go to the counter to check on the food. Lisa says "It using ready, we will come bring it to you when it is done. " I asked Emma where my sons chicken bites were. She said I don't know. I said will you please check? She said, "listen, I'm sorry you don't have your food but you need to go sit down..." I ask to speak to a manager, Lisa shouts, "she's busy trying to remake the food you weren't happy with..." I then just asked for a refund. I am told by Lisa, "yeah, sure... we'll get right to that." I go back to my seat, very embarrassed and frustrated by this whole situation and send my husband to get the refund. They then refund him only a portion of the check because here are his burrito. An email has been sent to the mail company. I hope both Lisa and Emma learn from this situation and realize that customer service is more than just providing a product. People deserve respect and today they both failed at providing that and that has nothing to do with training but instead with how you believe people should be treated. read more

This is the third time I've been to this location and every time I've come my order takes 30 minutes to receive. The workers all seem like they don't know how to work efficiently, and people get their orders at random. Also, every time I've come there seems to be something wrong or missing with my order, so I have to triple check to make sure I have everything before I leave. Compared to what I know rubios to be, this location seems sloppy and inconsistent. The portion size was extremely small, not sure if it was because they were closing, but happens every time. read more

Came here yesterday for dinner, very unsatisfied with me experience. Luckily you got my girls food right or this review would be a lower rating. I come here alot as i live right across the street. The food is usually done perfect and the wait times arent too bad. Sometimes they take a lil while but it can also get busy. Yesterday i waited 20+ minutes for my food. Which isnt horrible. But i watched my food for 10 minutes just sitting there. Literally had to go up to the counter and ask them about my order. I sat right next to the counter and never heard them call my order. They looked at the order plenty of time but just went past it. Normally im not picky and will eat anything. But they messed up my bowl terribly and i ended up only eating half of it because it was just gross. read more

On arrival there were a lot of folks waiting on pickup orders but the staff was hustling to get everyone their food. Extra effort was given to ensure that everyone was happy. My review is specific to this particular store, as compared to other Rubio's locations that I've experienced over the years. For a quick bite or take-home food, when I'm not in the mood to cook, Rubio's is usually a good option for me. Many usually associate Rubio's with their Original Fish® Taco Especial, but their menu isn't just limited to seafood. I do enjoy their fish tacos, however, they do offer chicken and beef options. They also have tasty Limited-Time Only Specials. The last LTO Special I had at Rubio's was something with Lobster (or was it Lobster shrimp?) and avocado, which I devoured. Prior to that, Rubio's featured some delicious Salmon LTOs. During my visit, they had Smoky Oaxacan (pronounced 'Wa-Ha-Can') Shrimp - shrimp marinated in a blend of Ancho, Guajillo, Anaheim (believe it or not, named after the SoCal city from which they are grown!) and Chipotle chiles. I like that Rubio's offers a great menu for the many kids in my extended family. Your child can select from one of the following entrees and choose two items - Mott's applesauce, beans, rice, churro, or chips. The kid's meal is served with Honest Kids' (ironically a product of Coca-Cola) organic apple juice, rBST-free milk or a kid's drink. Bean & Cheese Burrito Quesadilla Chicken Taquitos Chicken bites Chicken Taco Original Fish Taco Good food, yes. Would I come to Rubio's again? Yes, but not to THIS location. Although the gentleman who handed me my food was nice and apologized for the long wait, it was the slowest service I have ever experienced at a Rubio's. I only ordered a Grilled Shrimp & Bacon Burrito. Yes, it was new on the menu, but I feel it shouldn't have taken thirty minutes to figure out how to make it and it didn't even taste that great. In fact, I wrote the majority of the draft for this review, while I was waiting for my burrito. Food was okay. Portions were lacking... I had the lobster burrito and my bf had the surf and turf taco plate. My burrito was very small for almost $10 and was mainly made up of lettuce, black beans and rice... The meat that was in there was good but it was minimal. My boyfriends was better but he was still hungry and ended up going back up to order more food. We ended up spending almost $40 for a fast food (sit down) lunch... Rubio's is actually our favorite spot for fish tacos. My wife ordered the quinoa bowl with Mahi Mahi blackened, and it was smothered in some sort of a cilantro lime sauce that was very salty and the blackened sauce was extremely salty. She could not eat it she threw the whole thing away. It did not look anything like the picture on the wall. I ordered the two fish taco plate which is juicy and never a miss. But today the fish taco was either double and triple battered so there's very very little fish!!! It was a miss at this location. What's going on Rubio's? Is it just this location, I sure hope so!!! We will not be back!!We will go back to the Eastvale location where they've never done it wrong and they don't double and triple batter their fish where there's very little fish inside and all just breading. read more

I love Rubios!!! It is my favorite fast food place to date and i can't seem to get enough of it! Everything is so fresh and flavorful, it just makes me want more and more! Typically i walk thinking I'm gonna try a new menu item and seemingly i always end up getting the Two Fish Taco Plate.. usually I'll substitute chips for the beans, even though i like the beans. I just like to have an extra excuse to eat more salsa, but I'll get to that in a second. The rice tastes pretty good, always fresh and moist, never dry or stale. I get my tacos with corn tortilla, I've never tried the flour, but what's a good fish taco without corn? The fish is always crispy outside and tender inside, always a good portion in each taco and never "fishy" tasting. i hold off on the white sauce on my tacos because I've never been a fan, but i do love the house salsa they put on the cabbage.. The last thing i have to mention is the Roasted Chipotle Salsa. I could drink this stuff it's so good!! i drench everything in it and sometimes I'll even swipe a couple of cups to take home.. lol not too proud of that, but it's so dang good!! It has a smoky flavor and the Chipotles inside definitely Makes the meal that much better.. I understand that they make all salsa in house from scratch, and it certainly taste like it..! Yes, I know this is a chain, fast-food place - but I wanted to take the time to review it because this specific location has a secret success factor - his name is Brandon. Brandon is great because he actually CARES about his customers. You would think he owned this location because yes, he CARES THAT much!!!
