I always witness her providing the utmost exceptional customer service. Whenever I've had any issues with wait time or with the order not coming out correctly she's always resolved it promptly and efficiently without hesitation. She always makes sure to greet you when you walk in or say goodbye as you leave. I feel like this is such a simple thing that gets taken for granted nowadays but I appreciate it every time. After not being told the amount owed for the order over the phone my other co workers gave me what we thought was accurate for the order that we place every Tuesday. After getting there I found out we did not have the proper amount so I politely asked if they could just remove the amount of tacos so I could get only what I had enough for. JUNIOR Gave me extreme attitude. And after removing some tacos he threw everything back in the bag and said "TAKE YOUR CRAP" this was extremely rude and unprofessional. came here because i had a free taco coupon online. if you sign up online, they give you a free taco via their eclub. the steak taco was damn good... but for 3 bucks, i don't think its worth it. don't get me wrong, the ingredients were fresh, but it was kinda tiny. the salsa bar was decent. no flies flying around like some other shady mexican restaurants. @_@ the server/cashier was friendly and nice. I'm very satisfied with Rubio's ability to keep consistent from location to location from dish to dish too. Another prime location really keeps people coming here. Compared to other lunch rush rubio's they are pretty quick. Very clean and friendly staff, but to me all those tall tables really get in the way of the flow of all Rubio's. Plenty of outdoor seating, but the parking situation and turnover in the spots can almost hinder the foot traffic to Rubios. read more

Just a couple of blocks from my office, I've become slightly burned out eating here so much. Why so much? it's GOOD! I have never had a bad meal here. I always order the Burrito Especial Combo with Steak for its succulent sauce, steak, guacamole, lechuga (lettuce), rice and other goodies packed in a decent sized burrito. Lines out the door all the time during lunch but the line goes VERY quickly due to their excellent and speedy staff. Your meals will be prepared very quickly are carefully. The Steak burritos take a little more time than the chicken does but its worth the wait. They have never messed up my order. They keep the place spotless and they help without you asking. Expect to pay more than your ordinary taco stand or Taco Hell but guaranteed to be healthier and fresh. Havent had a chance to try Taco Tuesday yet. I like the number of outdoor seating although it gets packed at lunch time. Under a cozy and shady cool tree. At night, they turn on some Christmas tree lights to add some atmosphere. Parking lot is part of a strip mall with Ralphs, CVS, Panera Bread (I think), To Gos, and various other stores so parking can be rough sometimes. read more

Good place to go for fish tacos on taco tuesday. If you're in the mood for beef or chicken tacos though any other day of the week, you'll probably get more bang for your buck if you visit an actual taco shop like Alejandro's or Albatros. The street tacos are cheap, but they're so small that you really have to order at least 4 or 5 of them to be full if you have a big appetite like me. I do like how they include chips with your order, though (unlike Chipotle). Their employees are always friendly and the food usually comes out pretty quickly here. I usually order the steak or chicken burrito especial when i'm here, though last time the chicken just didn't taste fresh and I left feeling a bit like i'd wasted my money. I've been to many of the San Diego locations including the original one in Pacific Beach, and I've found that the food seems to taste more fresh at the San Diego locations for some reason. Hmmm this place is pretty good. Its in the same plaza as ralphs, kind of off to the side a bit. Went here last nite at around 9 because a lot of food places are closed around this time in Irvine. Me and my girl ordered the nachos with chicken and jalapenos and the big burrito especial and asked for it wet styled. The nachos were pretty decent, i mean you cant really mess up nachos unless they are from taco bell. Chicken was kind of dry, but what can you expect, i mean it is a fast food mexican restaurant. The burrito on the other hand was realllllllllly good, but again the steak was dry. I keep hearing the fish tacos are good there and cheap on tuesdays, im going to have to try it if I ever make it out there again. In the end the meal ended up costing 17 dollars which is kind of crazy. The salsa bar was ok, the thing I hated was that there was only 2 salsas out and like 3 other empty bowls. I mean if your still open the salsa bar should still have salsa in it. The front room employees were kind of laxidaisical(spelling) looking bored ready to go home. Overall the food here was decent, yet overpriced. I still would recommend chipotle for fast food mexican. Decently priced Mexican food without the grease from a typical hole in the wall place. I've had the nachos, burritos, and tacos here and they have yet to disappoint. Their food is not greasy at all and they don't load up your food with cheese or sour cream, just the right amount. I can't eat avocados so i ordered a burrito without any guacamole. When I got my burrito it had some inside and I immediately went up to the counter and had another one made for me in a jiffy. I went for the $1.50 fish tacos this Tuesday and the fried fish portions were HUGE! Must have been something in the water... haha :) You can choose between corn or flour tortillas at no extra cost. The staff is very helpful, friendly, and cheerful. We dined in and got our tacos on a plastic platter. They used to serve them in individual cardboard containers wrapped with deli paper and limes, so I'm glad they are making more sustainable choices. This time they didn't include the limes, but that's what a trip to the salsa bar is for anyway! I think it's better that way in case someone is allergic. My favorite things to add are the green sauce and cilantro/onions. The tacos were larger than anticipated this time so I had to ask for a to-go box. My only complaint is that the tables often look a little dirty at this location and there was a lot of food debris around the trash can. It's Rubio's, right? My feeling about Rubio's is the same as any chain food joint - you go in expecting a mediocre experience and end up leaving sort of satisfied because your sub-par expectations were met. Not at Rubio's! At least the last time I went. The service was great: I had a to-go order ready in less than 10 minutes during a busy lunch hour, the staff was friendly, and the manager gave me a free drink for my birthday. I'm going to point out that my entire order was free since I had a free birthday entree voucher. Offering a free drink with an already free meal warrants a five stars rating for service. The food was surprisingly tasty. I had the fish taco plate: 2 fish tacos with corn tortillas, refried beans, and rice. The food was enjoyable, though the portions of the sides a little lacking. The best part was the generous portion of fish. Each taco had a piece easily big enough for two. The restaurant was clean and the salsa station was filled. I noticed an employee completing spot checks twice while I was there. Overall, good food and good service. Though, if I had paid for my meal, I would have given them 3 stars. While $6.99 for a fish plate may be a reasonable rate, it's pricey for otherwise unspectacular food. read more

I work near here and I have ordered items lots of times. I really want to like this place, though the staff is incompetent. I ordered a two taco combo 10 minutes before I arrived at 11:51AM. I got there, stated I had ordered over the phone, paid and identified the order two taco combo with a side of guacamole. I got my salsa and proceeded to wait with the firemen and others at 12:00PM. 2 minutes after this, I noticed them put a small guacamole on a togo order and set it to the side. I thought it was my order, but she set it to the side without calling a name. I guessed I was wrong and kept waiting.... and waiting. 12:16 I ask the person dishing out the food that I had been waiting close to 20 minutes on an order I placed over the phone. He took my receipt up to the cold food that had been waiting there ever since I sat down. Unbelievable! So 30 minutes after I order, I have to stand in a crowded Rubios and demand I get my money back because; now I'm hungry and the place has been filling up with customers. LOVE this place! It's just down the street from me so it's very convenient. The people that work here are awesome. I actually get the kids meal because it's the perfect portion size... and you get a churro (just sayin). It's usually pretty busy but the food is still out pretty fast! My two favorite things there are the big burrito special and the cheese quesadilla. I also usually get a side of the chipotle white sauce to dip my chips in! I've never been disappointed in anything I've ordered here. The restaurant itself seems to be very clean and the staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome.
