Today was the worst meal I've had here. If this was my first experience I would not be back. Dont know how the kitchen managed it, but none of the food had any flavor. Soooo bland. The street taco beef almost seemed boiled and had absolutely no seasoning. Not even salt. It tasted terrible. Even the salsas at the station today were flat and bland. I frequent this Location as it is close to my work and they are always very speedy and accurate! I place over the phone orders and also order in person and I have never had any issues. I tend to order very specifically and they always get my custom orders correctly. The manager is very friendly and polite. Her establishment is always clean and orderly. Sometimes this location has an odd smell, I have asked the staff about it but they are also unsure what it's from. read more

This is the "California Bowl". Literally 8 dry tiny slices of chicken in a bed of rice, 20 beans, some pico and guacamole. I have tried to give this Rubio's a shot since I enjoyed their food at different locations(which were good).. the verdict is this location continues to disappoint. Stopped by for a bite to eat for lunch with my family. If you are looking for fresh and delicious rather than fast and fatty, this is the place to eat! My kiddos each had a kid's meal for $4.99. They ordered a chicken taco and two sides and a drink. I like how they had healthy options such as applesauce and 2% milk. I had a California Bowl with chicken for $7.89. It was served in a real bowl with real silver wear to eat with. The serving size was perfect for me. I'm full but don't feel overly stuffed and groggy. The food tasted delicious and I am pleased with my entree. My hubby ordered the Wild Ono burrito for $8.69. It came with a side of tortilla chips. I snagged a bite and also thought it was delicious. We used the restroom and it was clean and properly stocked with supplies. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a yummy bite to eat. read more

I love this Rubios. This one is my favorite!!! The dinning room is so clean and adorable. It looks like it was recently remodeled. There is a large long bar kind of table in the middle of the restaurant. It must seat like 20 people; it is super cute!! This location is good for functions or fundraisers because of the layout of the dining room. The fresh salad bar and soda machine are in a good place too. There is a large out door patio as well. Plenty of clean places to sit! The natural lighting in the restaurant is good too. Vince was working when I went there for lunch. He took my order. Such a nice guy! He was so genuine and I appreciated that. He made it a point to learn my name and addressed me as so during my visit. Very refreshing when people treat you like a human instead of just a regular old customer. I felt like I was welcome and was at home. The service at any Rubios I go to is usually outstanding. Everyone is so friendly to be at work. It was nice that vince served me at my table with glass dishes and actual silverware instead of plastic. The white dishes are also very cute and pleasant to eat off of! Why does food taste better on nice dishware?!?! The food is always amazing at any Rubios that I go to. Their fish tacos are MY FAVORITE. I was in a battle between Rubios and Wahoos... but I decided that I love the original fish tacos here. It pairs perfectly with the salsa. SO YUMMY I'M OBSESSED. I'm watching my calories so I also got the black beans which is also pretty good. Again, I have to pair it with the salsa. Sometimes I get the bean and cheese burritos which are also amazing!!!! Just really good fresh food! Loving the chipotle orange salad. The chipotle salsa is to die for. Just a nice tangy, spicy salsa. Nice break from fried fast food. Customer service is also pretty good. I hadn't been to Rubios in more than a year when I randomly stopped by for dinner last night. This location was very clean and had the usual beach decor which I love. The music playing was sorta rasta laid back sterotypical beach bum music which I adore lol. I had the chicken nachos pretty pricey at $7.99 buy then again the portion was huge. Super fresh guac and a large dose of sour cream with grilled chicken, real cheese and slow cooked delicious pinto beans...drool. I have never had the nachos with pinto here. I used to order black beans instead but seeing how I hadn't eaten all day & hadn't been in so long, I forgot lol. I digress. The salsa bar looked very clean and fresh. I only used the salsa verde & the spicy salsa and lemon. My only gripe is that the spicy had a toddler size kick and tasted like fire grilled burnt chile peppers. Like, burnt as in foul tasting charcoal. As I sat and ate alone, I really felt like I was eating beachside in Newport....I know.I know. But its true! Next time I come I'll share the nachos. Love the food here. Had my usual. Chicken nachos yum. This is one my my girls favorite place to eat. I think it's a little pricy for the food and that's why we don't eat here often. Only when we're craving it. So we are finally taking my preemie granddaughter out and about so she sat in the high chairs that they provide (thank u very much) but being the babu she is eventually she needed a diaper change. My gf and I were craving Rubio's tonight so we decided to stop in after our workout at The gym... unbeknownst to us the place closes at 9. We walked through the OPEN doors at about 905 and were welcomed by a unanimous outburst of "WERE CLOSED!!" By all the workers who were sitting at the tables eating. Getting two stars for decent food. Not getting the remaining stars for lack of customer service. Michael up front was great! My receipt was correct with the small modification that I wanted rice on one of my taco plates instead of beans. When the manager delivered it in her see through shirt, we pointed out that one if the plates was supposed to have rice. She asked if I wanted to replace the plate, or get the rice on the side. Now me, not wanting to cause extra waste, agreed to the side order. I'm glad I didn't send back the plate, I would have been waiting until my wife was done eating to get it back! There was only one other couple in the lobby eating, so I lack an understanding as to why the MANAGER would forget the ONE SOLITARY request from the dining room... She disappeared into the kitchen, returned 10 min later with some paperwork, passed an entire order to a GrubHub driver, and took two more orders all while failing to even acknowledge that I still didn't have my side. When Michael came to clear plates (again, he's awesome like that) my wife mentions that we never got the side. He was back in 30 seconds with it. Now I'm assuming that the manager forgot about it in the six steps it took her to get from my table back to the kitchen door. Unbelievable. I've been to Rubios in the past and loved it. This is my first time to this one so I don't know if it's just this Rubios that isn't good or if they changed their recipes. I ordered shrimp tacos and there were literally 3 pieces of shrimp in each taco. The beans on the side were disgusting, I couldn't even eat them. I got the chicken pieces for my daughters kids meal and they were disgusting. They were dry on the inside and the outside seemed like it was just rolled in cornmeal. Salsa had no flavor. I just received my order via DoorDash. We ordered a California bowl, a wild caught shrimp bowl and a kids chicken bites meal. I was so excited for the California bowl, I had been craving it. We get our order, the $7.00 kids meal came with 2 chicken strips and 7 French fries (which according my one of my daughters was disgustingly salty.) it was supposed to have a water with it, and it wasn't in our bag. I called and asked to talk to the manager as that price is outrageous. The pieces were about the size of a Chick-fil-a nugget. She answered very rudely, and when I asked to talk to a manager her voice changed instantly, super nice and friendly, yet with a hint of irritated. They refunded me for the kids meal. My husband and I open ours, we made our kids plates first. I opened mine, my guacamole was brown and old and my lettuce was completely wilted, I removed it and ate about 1/3 of my bowl, first couple bites were good as I put salsa all over the top, and I couldn't stomach it anymore. It was disgusting. The food literally tasted old. My husbands avocado was brown and hard like it was old, he couldn't eat his either, said the same thing, the food tasted old and he said the shrimp tasted disgusting. Loved Taxo Tuesday! My day had been busy and yet I made sure I took the time to get myself a cpl fish tacos!

My family ordered 2 California bowls and a kids meal. The cashier was nice. We got what we ordered in 5 minute however we were surprised with the quality of the food and the portion of chicken for what we paid for. Our bowls only had a few pieces of chicken which were burnt pieces and dry my son had burnt chicken in his bowl. My girlfriend went to complain about the portion so they gave us note chicken which was also burnt and dry. Never coming back to this place. They need to better train their cooks or not serve their customer old chicken. read more

Fantastic fish tacos! The batter is perfect, and I swear there's 6 oz of fish on each taco. I wish they would put less cabbage/toppings on it or wrap the tacos in two tortillas because it was impossible to eat. I would definitely come back again!!
