First and last time coming to this horrible place. I work at the outlets (Thrillit fun center), so I decided to try this place out. A small family of 4 was in front of me (2 spots in front) they took their sweet as$ time ordering. I got there about 1:34 pm. I finally got to order at 1:42pm, also while they were ordering the cashier had to change to the other machine cause "issues" (made it not send orders completed to the back.. From what he told me later) anyways the lady in front of me finished ordering then me and the big line after me. The thing was after about 6 mins of waiting for a simple chicken burrito with chips. I realized that the people after started getting their orders already. Mine being a to go order and being placed before theirs was an odd occurrence. So I went up and stood there to see if they would notice and say anything. About 3 times the server walked by to finally stop and ask if I needed something which I responded, "my order" and showed him my receipt. He asks the name and i tell him, even though i have my work shirt on with the name tag on it. He goes to tell the people in the back if there is an order for me (Peter) I hear them respond "theres no Peter". I start laughing on the inside because first off my order should have been completed already but now I know they never got it. But what is also funny is that somehow everyone after me got theirs. But at this point also i was already aggitated since I was on my 30 min lunch break and had to waste it standing in this place with nasty people coughing without covering their mouths. (Where are your manners? Did you go to school?) So after that little incident I hear them say " we will get started on it" after he mentions that I have the order receipt. A couple more mins pass and the cashier guy walks over and asks me if i need anything with yet again I tell him my order only this time i tell him i've already been waiting 17 mins for it. He does the same thing as the server. They respond in the back with the same crap just with the added bullcrap of the mentioned above quote. At this point it's already 1:57 or something like that. I already know im going to be late back. But just to see how much longer they took to finish a damn single chicken burrito with chips for 9 almost 10 dollars. They finally finished it at 2:04... And all they said was , "sorry for the wait".... I know you're sorry but I'm sorry I spent that much for such a crappy experience and a horrible burrito and to top it off you couldnt have even offered to make the next time better. The service I received at Rubio's was the best I have ever encountered at a restaurant! I was instantly surrounded by positive vibes and energy. The workers' enthusiasm proved they were genuinely interested in providing help and ensuring we had an exceptional experience. Special shoutout to Alex who took my order and constantly checked on our table to make sure we needed anything. He was nothing but attentive, friendly, and hard working. I noticed he was able to balance a stressful workload by working at the register while there was a huge line, bringing out orders, and still managing to pay attention to our needs. Considering the price tag, it was a bad experience. Meat and tortillas were cold. Tortillas broke and fell all over the plate. The white rice was mushy and tasteless. Came here for dinner while shopping at the outlets, the cashier looked very bored and cold. We eventually ordered a fish taco and a classic grilled burrito and I requested fajita veggies inside the burrito instead of rice. After rolling her eyes that not possible she eventually complied with my request. When the food came out what I got was a tiny shrimp burrito cut in half for some reason and a coup of grilled veggies, is this like an ikea build your own burrito kind of deal? Went back inside and the cashier didn't even want to acknowledge my existence, I had to flag down another girl that was taking the trash out. She took my plate and the cup of veggies and brought it to the cooks which described to her in Spanish that they were not told to do put the veggies in the burrito, they hesitated to do anything about it but after giving the dirty looks looks they were about to redo the burrito at which point I just took it back, I didn't want them to spit in my burrito. Today was the worst Rubio's experience ever! We had about 40 mins before our movie started, so we figured we would stop really fast for some tacos. We were happy to see that they had a taco Tuesday special and figured we would try them. That is when the disappointments started. We were up to order our food when the workers told us that they forgot to take out the fish for the day, so we couldn't order tacos. Really? How do you forget to take out one of your most popular dishes?? Anyways .. they honored the Taco Tuesday pricing and allowed us to choose from mahi mahi or salmon. We waited 25 mins and we still didn't receive our food. We noticed they were overwhelmed with people being upset over the fish issue, so we tried to be patient. Until 40 mins finally went by and I just couldn't take it anymore, we were already late for our movie! So, I went to ask what was taking so long and they said our food would be right out. It still took another 10 mins after asking and the employee was annoyed and had an attitude as if I was inconveniencing her. Like really?? All we ordered were 6 fish tacos and they were gross! Small pieces of fish , cold and bland. Not to mention we found a hair in our food! We were already late for our movie after waiting 50 mins for our food , so we didn't even complain because it would've probably taken another 40 mins to get a plate. I really like Mexican food and Americanized Mexican food lol my friend and I came by here cause I was already at The Outlet since my friend didn't wanna drive around... saw that they had came up with a new menu, the salad bowl. Decided to try it out with my choice of the grilled chicken Cali "salad" bowl for a healthy alternative. It came with a lot of white rice, grilled chicken, guacamole, black beans, thousand island sauce and shredded lettuce. It looked really good until I took a bite. To start off with, it wasn't really a salad, more like the stuff you put into a burrito... So I suggest you order a burrito instead of this so called salad bowl. I thought it was alright, it was drenched in thousand island dressing and hardly had any lettuce. Mediocre food. I preferred the taco bells cantina bell over this. I was kind of dissapointed but not the point it was over bearing. it would taste better with spanish rice instead and not too much dressing. Awhile back I have ordered the battered fish tacos so I gave that the four star. You have two choices of tortillas freshly made ! Corn and flour. Fish tacos are made hot out of the kitchen with topped cabbage and a side with rice or chips and beans. Crispy delicant tacoa , really delicious. Especially the roasted pepper sauce ! Came in 30 mins ago to get fish tacos. I went to the cashier girl and ordered two fish tacos. Not sure what she said because I just heard mumbling and I said excuse me? So she can repeat herself and she did and I still couldn't understand what she said and told her I've only been here once. She said our two tacos plate comes with beans and nachos or something. So I said no, I just want the two fish tacos. I gave her $20 because she talks so low I didn't hear the total and asked for what the change was and it was 11 cents so I took out 11 cents and the total came out to almost $7! I thought Tuesday's had taco Tuesday specials but I had already paid so I asked another man what happened to their specials and he told me it starts at 2:30. I came in at 2, the girl could have easily told me or asked me if I wanted to wait to save some money and maybe it was my fault but she should've let me know. Thanks girl. After my 1st review a year ago, I have gone back to this location after the renovations. The food was decent until yesterday. I ordered Grilled Salmon California Rice bowl with no beans and Taco especial. Food tasted ok. Salmon was cooked too hard again and I didnt finish the bowl. The taco was great. Then 30 minutes later I was sick to my stomach and was running to the bathroom. I dont whats up with location but they need clean up their act! I wont be coming back again! Came in to order a burrito and the two girls at the cashier were pretty dismissive and seemed more interested in talking to one another than taking my order. I ordered a bean, cheese, rice and chicken burrito. Was staying at the double tree about half a mile away and walked over to get my grub. When I got back I took a couple bites and realized there was only rice and chicken in the burrito. I called back and made a complaint that the girls messed up my order. The manager was so nice and actually drove to my hotel to drop off my new and improved burrito. I couldn't believe it! I don't usually call to make complaints but I was just pretty frustrated. He brought me the burrito told me he had checked the ticket and that it was actually the cooks who messed up. Although I wish the girls had been a bit more attentive in general I am glad it was just a small misunderstanding. Can't believe how awesome and kind the manager was though!
