Shane was very friendly and helpful with recommendations. 10/10 recommend this place! The decor is super cute, I loved all the black and gold accents everywhere. And I love the New Orleans music that plays while you dine.

Thoroughly enjoyed my brunch here. Loved the covered and heated outdoor patio so we could bring our…read morepup. Service was very good. Didn't see the inside. Had the breakfast sandwich with veggie sausage and for the side, I had the gumbo. The gumbo was very good. Certainly not the best I've had but I enjoyed it. Hearty and had a kick. The sandwich was also very good. The gluten free bun was decent and the veggie patties were basically like your store bought veggie sausages (think Morningstar). My biggest issue was I ordered over easy and the eggs were basically fried. My wife got a Benedict and the poached eggs were also very over cooked. If all you serve is breakfast and lunch, you need to know how to cook eggs. The beignets we ordered were very good. Not cafe du monde (NOLA) or Huey's (Savannah) good, but a solid attempt. My other complaint is they were out of plant based milk. The server said they usually stock almond milk but ran out. First, if it's so popular that you run out, order more. Second, if you ran out unexpectedly because you always have enough, then go out and buy more since it's obviously popular. It was 10:30 on Sunday. You literally just opened which means you ran out last night. Go to the supermarket on your way in (or ask a server to stop on their way in) and buy more. It's not like it's the middle of the shift and you ran out. Sorry, but a pet peeve of mine is when a restaurant runs out of something that is easily purchased a block away at a supermarket or convenience store. Anyway, I would come back. They need to do better with their egg cooking but the meal was otherwise very good.

** DO NOT KNOW WHY YELP CHANGED NAME TO ABOVE!!! I initially created business page under the name…read more"The French Quarter @ Sonny's Marina" as this place is located in the Johnson City area and not the Kingsport area. Right on the waters of Boone Lake... huge bar with seating for 25+ folks with 30+ tables for dining and enjoying the sun and the view... Chatted with the proprietor when me and my cousin stopped in while we were cruising the lake just before the 4th of July. Enjoyed a couple of beers. He has a nice selection of Louisiana Abita beers (Amber, Purple Haze, Turbo Dog, Andygator etc...) Several beers on tap plus good selection of bottled beer as well. Does not offer spirits or liquor however. As you would expect from the name this place has a LA flair and the proprietor advised he started cooking his version of "Louisiana cuisine" so that he could gain entry into the many festivals that are held in the Tri-City area as he pretty much is the only vendor offering "Louisiana cuisine". While we were chatting and enjoying a beverage or 3 had several couples stop in from the land side (as opposed to the water side) and sit down for a meal. My cousin and I did not partake of any menu offerings but the folks there did seem to enjoy the food that was being prepared. If you're out on Boone Lake and running toward the Johnson City side of the lake I'd highly recommend a stop in to give this place a try. Because a native Louisianian is the one writing this review and offering the recommendation!!!

Not the French Quarter anymore…read more Place there is great but simple pub food, amazing wings. Think it is now called the broken ski grill.
