Came here for lunch. Exceptional service! I had the moo good gai pan. Extremely bland, yet tasty enough to satisfy; which is why I ordered it with an upset stomach. I felt much better after. Let me start by saying that the food was delicious, fresh and quick to be delivered to our table. That was the only positive part of our experience. We went there specifically because my husband wanted a Vietnamese dish. We usually go to the one in RR but this location is closer. My husband could not remember the name of the dish he wanted, so asked the young lady at the counter. He wanted a specific noodle dish that was served with fish sauce and an egg roll. He pointed to the menu and asked if *this* item was the correct item (after describing to the lady). She confirmed that it was and asked him which egg roll he wanted (meat or veggie). I then placed the rest of our order and drinks. Our food started coming out within 10 min or so, our crab Rangoon and egg rolls, and then a few min later my orange chicken. All were delicious, probably the best orange chicken and crab Rangoon we've had. But we continued to wait about 30 min and my husbands order never came. So we asked about it. They looked confused, what noodle dish? Luckily I had a receipt printed and then noticed, they did not ring in that dish. Even though my husband and the employee had an in depth conversation about which dish, what it included, both confirming the order and the lady reading back the order before we paid. The did offer the make the order, but by this time my husband was pretty upset and just wanted to leave. Other annoyances included that we had to order and pay at the counter, therefore having to tip before we have had any service and feeling a bit rushed to order, we wanted to read the menu since none of us had been to this location before. Also, they bring you all the food and drinks in take-out boxes and give you plastic utensils. Trying to share apps and entrees (with 3 people) and no plates is a bit awkward. Lastly, other than bringing the food to the table, there was no table service. We had to get up and locate sweetener, napkins and to get refills on our iced teas. Even though I went over our order twice it still came out wrong. They nickel and dime you over everything including rice and an egg roll. FORTUNE GARDEN is my favorite Chinese/Vietnamese Restaurant! On the last page you can find their Vietnamese choices. I LOVE "PHO"...a Vietnamese Soup to die for! I order #47 PHO Clear broth that has been cooked for days...with delicious noodles, choice of meats added to it, fresh thin slices of onion on top. On the side, you can add bean sprouts, fresh lime wedges, fresh jalapenos, fresh Thai Basil and Cilantro! We were patrons of the RR location, and are happy to have one closer to home. We've only used them for take out, so service hasn't been an issue. This place had a couple low ratings, but I have no idea why. We have been here many times (I've lost count) and the food is consistently good. The waitstaff is very kind and professional. Got the generals tso chicken and fried rice. Wow I didnt know it was possible to screw up this basic dish. Chicken was soggy and over breaded so it just fell apart. The fried rice had zero flavor, 5 peas and 1 carrot in the whole box. Like did I just get served someone leftovers? It was bad. Didnt take pictures because i just threw it all away and took the loss. It's about 30 minutes before closing and chairs are piled on the tabletops and a worker is sweeping. Certainly not my idea of a meal out. Just completed our third visit to Fortune Garden. And I really have nothing but positive things to say. The service is very friendly and efficient. Also efficient in that your food is brought to the table remarkably fast. I have yet to try their Vietnamese specialties but this evening we started with steamed potstickers followed by one of the better Lo Mein dishes I've had in a long while. We added two entrees- beef with broccoli and General Tso's chicken. All superb. Ample portions and all full of flavor. We will be back as it is without question the best Asian cuisine in our area. read more

Most importantly this place is so dirty! I don't think they've cleaned since they opened. The food is mediocre at best. Not horrible but certainly not great! The kids menu is ridiculous! Tried Fortune Garden with mom and son today. Everything was very good. The tea was freshly brewed. Had General Tso's, Orange Chicken and Crab rangoons. All was delicious. My son, who is very picky, liked it so much he got General Tso's to go for dinner. Table next to us had Pho which looked amazing. Glad to have them here. FINALLY some decent Chinese food in Georgetown! Wife and I love the wonton soup and general tso chicken. We have tried a bunch of items from the menu and havent found a dud yet. The portions are huge and you will have leftovers which microwave great! This is a can soda place and I know what you are thinking....I too hate can soda places. BUT! This place does it right. You get two cans of soda which is more than enough for dinner. The service is great and fun to talk to. I definitely suggest asking them questions and for suggestions. Food was okay. We ordered it take out as we live down 29. Food was cold, Broccoli Beef had big pieces of broccoli and meat so I had to cut it up. The brown sauce or the beef was slightly sweet and no flavor which is not how it is supposed to be. The crab Rangoon was good but cold. My roommate ordered Mongolian beef and she said it was just ok. We probably won't be back, it is not for us, but some may like their food sweet. Another thing is their egg rolls are not the usual ones. They are tiny and have nothing in them but cabbage. We ordered beef lo mein and the lunch kung pao beef (with egg drop soup and fried rice). The egg drop soup was bland and needed salt. The entrees had good flavor, but the beef was tough. Service was not great. We were greeted right away, and the waiter took our drink order. Another guy took our food order and brought our food. I ran out of water quickly and could not get anyone to refill it. Then a waiter came and refilled my husband's tea. He left and never came back with water. Another waiter said he would get the water but never brought any. We finally got the attention of a waitress bussing another table. She brought water. No one offered us more tea or water (2 glasses each), and we waited 10 minutes for our check. The original waiter did apologize for the wait for our check. read more

While I wouldn't say the food is bad.... I would say there has to be something better... we got the orange chicken lunch and the shrimp in lobster sauce. Well, that should have been called water chestnut soup with pees and a little shrimp. 5 pieces of shrimp in the entire dish. It didn't look appetizing either. Orange chicken was not that bad but tasted very mediocre. Panda is better and in the same parking lot. The quest for something more authentic continues. The coconut walnut shrimp was drenched in the mayo sauce (way too much), two separate beef plates were either over cooked or beef was non existent with an over powering sweet sauce. The lemongrass vegetarian tofu dish cooked with vegetables? The only vegetables was onions, however it was probably the best dish of the 5 that were ordered. The spring rolls were ok just really skimpy with vegetables. The cooks should really take some chinese/viietnamese culinary lessons from their elders. I gave them 2 stars only because they made an attempt to please our pallets by remaking a couple of dishes but they still didnt hit the mark. Soooo disappointing. read more

Great food, courteous service and reasonable prices are what's been served at Fortune Garden. On all three of our visits there has been a bit of inconsistency in taste -- probably due to the recent opening and staff getting the routine down -- but I have been happy with every dish I've ordered. The hot and sour soup and the egg drop are both very good, and the entree portions are not too large, so you aren't taking home a to-go container every time. The first time we had spring rolls, the cabbage was chopped a little too coarsely and was difficult to eat without making a mess, but the rolls were done perfectly on our last visit. Wait staff are friendly and all our orders have been complete and correct when served. The only negative is the lack of a soda fountain (sodas are served in cans), but that's a very minor issue. Not sure where the one reviewer had the cleanliness issue, but the place was immaculate whenever we were there. We will be visiting Fortune Garden again and again. read more

Sweet and sour chicken was extremely dry. But the even more unfortunate reason for the bad review is because it was dirty. The floor was so sticky/tacky and it was more than obvious from looks and sound of shoes having the sticky residue when walking to restroom. Overall you can see the restaurant is not given a thorough wipe down because some of the smudges and dirty residue you can see on the tables, floors, and that one stainless steel door are not from one day. read more

3/12/2018 My first time here had Kung Pao Chicken which was excellent. Vegetables were fresh and not overcooked. Chicken was tender with well prepared sauce. Will try again. 3/13/2018 Second visit tried Cashew Chicken. While the chicken and sauce were well prepared and tasty, the vegetables that were added were frozen peas and carrots which were not good with this dish. Ok. I'm really torn on this place. I heard great things about it and I'm sure it's like most places in GT where you kinda have to know what they're good at and more importantly what they're not. I heard the hot and sour soup was amazing. I thought it was ok. It didn't have much in it like tofu or mushrooms but there were a couple pieces. It came out nice and hot so that was good but flavor was a little off. From what I'm used to. So maybe it was me but I prefer hot and sour at a different local Chinese place. (Shanghai Express). My wife got the egg drop. It was fantastic. She also ordered beef with broccoli. The beef was tough and looked old. It was way too chewy and had a nasty gray color. Flavor was not good and the sauce was almost non existent. She couldn't eat her meal. I ordered the black bean sauce with chicken. It was a 5 Star hit! I've been looking good black bean sauce w chicken for years here in GT and I finally found it. I highly recommend that meal! The spring rolls were ok. We ordered water but I noticed people that ordered sodas were getting cans and a glass of ice. What is it with Chinese restaurants doing this?? I'm a fan of fountain soda over canned. It just tastes better to me. Oh I also noticed they had Thai tea on the menu. The decor was really nice and fun. Tables weren't jammed in so that was really nice. They also have 4 TVs high up on the walls. Service was less than good. Our waiter was kinda there and brought our food out but he kind of just ran by the table once and dropped off food and ran to the next table. We were never asked if we needed anything or felt like we were actually 'waited' on but that's sort of common for this town for some reason. Also I saw the cook come out and he was dirty/filthy. So no I'm not a prima Donna but I do like to feel welcomed and want the people making the food to have some sort of personal hygiene and awareness of the what to look like when in the food business.
