    Oh Let's E.

The service is amazing! 10/10 every single person was extremely welcoming and attentive. The restaurant was clean. We absolutely loved the decor. The food unfortunately was horrible. I ordered a 16 oz ribeye medium rare and it was so OVER COOKED AND DRY the same for my friend that ordered the same thing. The BEST thing on the menu was the sweet potato. We also ordered calamari it was chewy. The " garlic " mash potatoes had ZERO garlic. Save your $ and cook at home.

We came here to celebrate my husband's belated birthday with a good steak (he loves the Porterhouse). We've been here a few times and usually have a great experience, but today was just okay. We arrived around 4:00 and there was hardly anyone there. We were seated almost immediately and then quickly met our server, Mario. He was really great and made us laugh a lot. We ordered a ton of coconut shrimp...like seriously a ton. We had it for an appetizer, it was my entree, and my husband got it as a side. We love coconut shrimp, but we definitely took it a little too far :) I don't think I can touch another coconut shrimp for a while now. My husband's porterhouse was supposed to be medium rare, but it seemed to be cooked differently throughout. The first corner he cut was well done, the second, medium well. There might have been a piece that was medium, but none of it was medium rare. He also pulled out some shards of bone out of his steak. Those could have been very dangerous if he hadn't seen them. My husband had a candied jacketed yam as one of his sides. Most of it was good, but the inside of the skin was black and burnt. Definitely not edible. I ran out of water and asked for a refill. Mario left for quite a while (I think he forgot about me) and when he came back, he asked the table next to us if they needed anything. Someone wanted a refill, so he immediately got her a refill. After doing so, he turned around and said "water" and then grabbed me a refill. I think it was an honest mistake...we're all human. I was feeling a little forgotten though :( I loved my coconut shrimp and I loved the broccoli. If we come here again, I'm going to ask for two servings of broccoli instead of another side. Their broccoli is cooked perfectly every single time! We left feeling kind of meh about out dining experience today. It will probably be a while before we return.

The ambiance is incredible. Every single inch is decorated and designed to look stunning. It isn't super dark so I was able to read the menu without using my phone as a flash flight. Dinner was quick and service was attentive even though they were busy. The food was just ok. The tomato my server recommended was underwhelming and so was the steak. The steak was a little too salty. Maybe we caught them on a bad night.

My wife and I had dinner, and I accidentally drank from a chipped glass with a missing piece. The server was too rushed to check, and when we tried to talk to a manager, she deflected back to the waitress without offering an apology. My wife spoke to someone else who said, "Well, it happens." What was supposed to be a great night is now making me sick thinking about it. Thanks, Ruby River!

Smothered chicken and jacketed yam - candied style

This is one of our favorite places!! First of all the log cabin decor is awesome! To me this is what a restaurant would look like up in the mountains! My wife and I usually get the smothered chicken, jacketed yams - candied style, and a side salad. These are all so good!! Especially the jacketed yams. I've never had them anywhere this good. Also the prices are so reasonable! This is where I take friends, family, and work dinners!

Their steak egg rolls were so good. Everything else mediocre. Atmosphere reminded me of Montana. Steak was dry and not well seasoned.

Recently we had a not so great experience at a chain steak house and this more than made up for it . Worth the drive from Slc for sure . Bobbi was our server and she is the best we've had . Kept up with fresh bread and a carafe of ice tea. She was super personable and fun . The bread to start off was very fresh , soft and with the butter- chefs kiss. 3 of us got Salads and I chose the French onion soup . The broth was delicious and even though it was packed with flavor -surprisingly light. Salads were hearty and veggie forward . 3 of us got steak plates but have to mention how huge the county fried steak was -with an option of country gravy or brown gravy . That definitely will keep you full . The steaks were juicy-cooked, to perfection. My snow crab kept me occupied for most of my meal but I rarely get the option to add crab to a meal so why not. It was absolutely fantastic with the butter . We all left with doggy bags . I also had made a reservation a week before we knew we were going to visit as from photos I was not able to tell how big it was. It actually is quite huge . There are covered wagons that seat up to 10 , a private banquet area and table tops available. The decor is fun and you can actually walk around to see more of it . Since we had a reservation we didn't have to wait but there is a bar in the front incase you wish to grab a quick drink while waiting for your table . If you're a steak lover and have an appetite, definitely add Prairie Schooner to your list . I can definitely see it being a popular spot for Mothers /Fathers day and celebrations . Perhaps even take on their 20 oz Porterhouse and pair it with one of their cast iron desserts to celebrate. Until next time , Thank you for the great dining experience.!

Steaks were cooked like we enjoy the side and appetizer soup and salad were yummy Last time my wife and I were there for my birthday. When we arrived, we were told there would be a 45-minute wait, which was understandable. Since there was a wait, we asked if we could sit at the bar instead. We could clearly see a few open seats together, but the hostess told us, "There's no room." I pointed out the empty seats, and she replied, "You can sit there, but you might not get service." I then asked if food service was available at the bar, and she said it was -- but that it would still take at least 45 minutes to get food. We sat down briefly, but the bar area was dirty, and honestly, the interaction left us feeling unwelcome. The tone and attitude from the hostess came across as if she really didn't want us eating there at all. So we decided to leave. That was the disappointing part -- because we actually enjoyed the food during our previous visit. Unfortunately, customer service can completely change the experience, and this time it did.

The Chef's Tasting consists of several preset amuse-bouches, with your choice of main and dessert. The thing that Hearth seems to be known for is their unique combinations of ingredients, tastes and textures, all leveraging their signature olive oils (which are available for purchase). It was fun trying all of the combos, most of which were delicious! I did get the short rib for my entree and unfortunately it was dry. The roasted vegetables were aplenty and tasty so I was glad to have had a substantial meal despite not eating much of the short rib. I mentioned it to the server and she shared that they had switched vendors recently and that it was different than their typical short rib. Hoping they switch back! The meal ended with dessert, and the honey/almond/white chocolate/blueberry sorbet I selected was decadent and yummy. All in all, I enjoyed my experience. The service was fantastic and we were treated to complimentary baked goodies to take home. My friend shared that their tasting menu changes seasonally and that all of the various dishes have been unique and delicious. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Ogden!
