The menu item with salmon and capers had overcooked salmon and the capers were tasteless and sparse. The flavor issue means they are probably washed before frying or the fry oil is bad. It's a real chill vibe with an outdoor patio option (although I always opt for indoors - the art inside is awesome to look at!) We joined the waitlist on yelp 30 minutes prior to arriving. Arrived with a quoted 15 minutes left in our wait. Waited 45 minutes to be sat, after asking multiple times. While we were a party of 6, we watched a 6 top table sit open from the time we arrived...until we were finally sat at it 45 minutes later. Watched several parties who weren't already on the waitlist come in and sit down after just a few minutes. Service wasn't impressive and the food really wasn't that great. Won't be back. read more

This is the Walmart of brunch spots. The Eggs Benedict came out overcooked. The Migas were served with two tiny, almost laughable slivers of avocado. Maybe the War in Iran is inflation avocado prices too?? food was totally flat, it's like the chef cooks with thoughts and prayers, not seasonings The craziest part is the place was packed, which is honestly baffling. I have visited two of the Ruby slipper locations in New Orleans so I wasn't sure on what to expect at the Pensacola location. I found the food to be just as delicious. I was able to be seated at the bar and service was fast. Also, my waitress was extremely pleasant. Your location is downtown and there's plenty of space for all the people dining. read more

If I could put negative I would. We came on a Saturday. I had an omelet with the pancakes. The omelet was a rubbery, greasy mass of overcooked eggs stuffed with soggy vegetables, undercooked meat, and clumps of half-melted cheese that smells like dirty feet. But the pancakes were excellent like good buttery and smooth but expensive as hell. My girlfriend had the plate with the plantains on it. They told us FRESH PLANTAINS. They were as hard paint chips. She was so sad. There was also a lot of flies around the restaurant. Hostess was rude and it's one of those restaurants that wants you out lmao while the server uses one of those greasy phones to order. We also waited like an hour for a table that was sticky. I really was confused when this happened because of how highly rated this place is. I seriously love all the other restaurants I've been to in pensacola. I could eat McGuire chicken sandwich and burgers all day long. I felt like caught off guard by this experience this hasn't happened since moving to pensacola. read more

I'll start by saying the food gets a 5 star rating from me. Pretty much everything we had at the table was worth getting again. I had the Chicken St. Charles Benedict & added some avocado on top and swapped hollandaise sauce for the Tasso cream. Others at the table had breakfast tacos, sweet heat chicken & French toast bites, the trifecta, and biscuits and gravy. Everyone loved their food. Service on the other hand wasn't great. Not attentive, didn't speak loud enough, and multiple spills at our table. I would go back and give the service a second chance though, since the food was so good. I also had the mimosa flight. Honestly it was a little disappointing, don't think the flavors hit very well and sort of tasted too artificial. Would have preferred just a normal mimosa instead. TLDR: This is a restaurant with delicious offerings and a convenient waitlist option. Service was friendly and attentive. Drinks are pretty good and prices are reasonable, but a little more time could be spent cleaning up between sittings. The long version: I stopped in with the family for a quick bite to eat before hitting the airport. The Yelp waitlist feature was a lifesaver since we had kids with us and a flight to catch. We only waited 15 minutes or so. Without getting on the waitlist early it would have been 45. Service: We told the staff we were in a hurry and they were friendly and accommodating, taking our order almost immediately. Drinks: We ordered the Paloma and Breakfast Margarita. The Paloma was delicious, while the Margarita was just okay. If you love orange juice, the margarita might be more your style. Paloma: 4 stars Breakfast Margarita: 3 stars Food: the kids had the cream cheese frosting topped pancakes and loved them. My lady ordered the fried green tomatoes with bacon jam. No lie, THIS WAS THE BEST BITE OF FOOD I HAVE HAD IN A LONG TIME. The bacon jam was amazing, the tomato perfectly breaded and fried, with a sauce drizzled on top that lifted it to the next level. 5 stars. I had the Spanish omelette with the biscuit and a pancake added on. The biscuit was fine, but not amazing. The omelette was good, with good ingredients, but was cooked a little more than I like. The pancake was delicious. 3.5 stars. The only issue we really had was that our table hadn't been properly wiped when we sat down. Our menus stuck to the table and there was a fly or two making trouble. It was the Sunday rush, and this isn't a white tablecloth restaurant, so I'll call this the cost of doing business. Disclaimer: Not reviewing the food only the service. The service was the worst service I've ever experienced at a small restaurant in my lifetime. The owner really should find more professional and respectful people to represent that place. Upon entering, I kindly greeted the hostess and was immediately met with a nasty attitude. I was asked how many for my family and I to be seated. As she sat us, the table was extremely sticky. She did not provide the two high chairs that I informed her we would be needing. While my mother in law was standing with my infant for about 5 minutes, that same hostess was running around to each server clearly speaking about my family and I laughing, pointing and just watching us as we stood there waiting for a high chair. Finally, a younger blonde server just got them for me. I then realized the hostess didn't give us enough menus. I walked over to her in the front and just let her know I needed a menu and she held on to it as she handed it outward, forcing me to snatch it out her hands. My family and I decided that we could not trust the service or the food that would come out and we decided to leave. As we were walking out the male bartender was laughing at us saying have a great day more than once in a sarcastic tone. I was extremely disappointed, as I was looking forward to trying out the food because of the good reviews I had read prior to coming. I will never set foot in that business again. Went in for the first time a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed that the service was relatively quick and the restaurant layout was well thought out. Especially considering i went with a friend and we had three kids. I appreciated how much space was in between the tables. For appetizers, we got the beignets which were super tasty & soft and the fried green tomatoes, which came with a super tasty sauce! I got the french toast bites for my son's meal and they were fluffy and delicious! For my entree, i got the berry chantilly pancakes which were ok, but honestly i was disappointed in the fruit that was clearly old. Been wanting to try this place since we live close to downtown pcola. We got in line online (def recommend) and only waited about 10 min once we got to the restaurant (on a sunday morning too!) People who didn't get in line waited for over an hour. There aren't a ton of sit down breakfast restaurants in pensacola but this one is SO GOOD. I got the smoked salmon omelette... amazing.
