Salad bar is pretty good. The other choices are pretty BAD. Ive given this place a lot of chances because there are not many choices near here and because they have a good salad bar but ive had steak here, burgers both below average. The "bar food" and appetizers are terrible. Crab cakes were mushy, cheese fries soggy and soaked with some type of goopy sauce. Had to locate the host so we could be seated. The service was slow, the dining area was dirty....several dirty unoccupied tables. Maybe we just missed the rush but at that time maybe 6 other tables were being used and the host was sitting and laughing with friends. Had to ask for refills and had to ask for table to be cleared. Brought it to managers attention and they were apologetic. The salad bar was clean and looked very fresh though and our soups were really good. My daughters and I visited this restaurant yesterday (March 28, 2021) around noon for lunch. The food was good and our server (I believe Sheri or Shay) was excellent while at our table. However there was a few things going on in the dining room that made us uncomfortable. I noticed a couple of servers not wearing their masks properly, seeming intentionally worn below the nose, including our server while in other parts of the dining room (she was properly covered while at our table). One server specifically wore her mask well below the nose, if not primarily on her chin, all the while talking to guests at their tables. I also noticed a few guests not wearing their masks properly (a couple not wearing one at all) while walking through the dining room. There is a sign very visible on the front door indicating that face coverings should be worn over the mouth AND nose. I have no issue with the removal of masks once at the table, necessary to consume food and beverages. But, I didn't like the seemingly non-enforcement of the proper mask policy by both guests and employees. Not everyone has been able (or chooses) to be vaccinated yet and some only partially at this point. If you are going to have a blatant policy, please enforce it. read more

Had not been to this restrurant in a few years. Went on a Friday evening. Busy, but no wait for a table for three. While our server was new (unclear on the menu selections), she was very friendly and attentive. Trouble started when we ordered. It took over 35 minutes for our food to come out of the kitchen. Our server kept apoligizing and bringing out cheese biskets. When we finally got out food, my order was a huge disapointment. I ordered the broiled salmon with brocoli and fried zuccini. This was served on a large plate and the food covered maybe one third of the plate. The salmon portion was small. There was a small amount of the brocoli and only a few pieces of slightly burnt fried zuccini. This entrée cost $ 17 !!! I called the manager over and asked her how such a pitiful dish could be allowed out of the kitchen. I sent it back and had them take it off my bill. Overall a very disapointing experience. If you are in Mebane, try The Table, or Ciao's instead. read more

2015 update: I've eaten in-house three times more. Twice I've had TERRIFIC meals. Once I've had an absolutely ghastly one; they should have been ashamed of what they served. How can a restaurant suffer such a variance in food quality? You're taking your chances when you go. Fingers crossed for you. 2011: I've been here many times for take-out, which has provided quite nice meals for the most part. Tonight was my first (and last) eat-in. The salad bar was adequate but minimal. I had to ask the hostess to get my waitress, who was busy in the back of the room yakking with the other servers (a condition that seems always to be happening, to judge from my previous visits) to check on me. She hadn't served rolls with my entree. Reluctantly she went to get them: two heaping tablespoon-sized dry bits of salty, cheesy bread. She told me that she'd get into trouble if she brought more (but why would I want more of those things?), but could sneak some out if I wanted. The grilled salmon was lovely. It came with a side vegetable, which I can only describe as a garnish: five paper-thin slices of grilled zucchini. They were too thin to get any taste out of. Dessert was a dry, cool chocolate cake with about a tablespoon of frighteningly hot sauce. When I compare it to the decadent pineapple upside-down chocolate cake I had at Bahama Breeze in Raleigh the week before, I want to cry. The meal was incredibly overpriced for what you got. I only tipped 15% and felt the waitress (and other staff) needed to be taught how one actually serves. My waitress only appeared when I dragged a book out and had been reading it for some time, obviously ready for a new course or the bill. (Another waiter began to sing loudly in the room for about twenty seconds in order to impress the hostess, oblivious to there being customers in the place.) read more

A great RT! I have eaten dinner here probably 5 or more times within the past year. It has been consistently delicious. The dining room is always full for dinner, but I've never had to wait for a table. Service is good for the most part. The servers gather in one area and hang around and talk loudly..but that's the only criticism I can think of! Salad bar= awesome! read more

At 68 years of age I have eaten at a lot of restaurants. Without question, me and my family's experience last night will qualify as the absolute worst dining experience of all time. The ribs, for which they are famous for, were terrible, the mixed drinks, and finally the cleanliness were unacceptable. Went there relatively late on a Saturday night. Wanted to get some of there biscuits but the were out. Then ordered some ribs, which they advertise on at least 1/4 of there menu in a large display. I was then told they were out of those also. The server was friendly and personable, so this is a review is a reflection of the restaurant and management. I then had to order a steak and ordered the ribeye. For a $18 steak I expect it to be thicker than 1/2 inch. Very disappointed in the meal, but again I will say the server was very good. read more

It started of okay, our waiter was obviously new. The waiters were a bit all over the place but they're were a lot of people there so I didn't think anything of it. We got the 3 course meal for $12.99 and the garden bar and entree were pretty good. But then the waitress never came back to the table after we got our meal. After about 20-30 minutes of waiting we finally called her over and asked for refills on our drinks, our deserts(the last course), and the check. 20 minutes later we got refills and our deserts but I'm literally still here writing this review and waiting for the check. Best salad bar in town. Some of their stuff is pricy but the salad bar with minis is a great bargain. Sometimes a little slow but it is cozy and comfortable with pleasant wait staff. Their management has changed recently and they seem to be under-staffed much of the time and do have a problem getting you seated for some reason....we waited 30 minutes outside in the heat last time, despite the fact that there were several empty tables. Ruby Tuesday has been our go-to restaurant for several years now. We have always depended on friendly service, a decent salad bar, and good solid food. I have been very disappointed, though, in the menu changes and the lack of response from RT to repeated questions about dietary concerns. I have diabetes and work hard to control blood sugar by following a low-sugar eating plan. I thought it would be safe to order a steak, grilled Brussels sprouts, and a salad bar when we went there last Friday night. Instead, the steak was covered with some kind of very sweet rub or marinade, and the Brussels sprouts were drowned in a sticky sweet syrup. Neither sweet preparation was indicated in any way on the menu. I wrote the "contact" list 3 times over a period of more than a week and described my disappointment in not being able to eat most of a somewhat expensive dinner. I made a suggestion that the menu describe the dishes a little more clearly (e.g., "top sirloin steak, rubbed with our own special mix of herbs and spices" and "Richly caramelized Brussels sprouts and roasted onions with a sweet champagne vinaigrette"). This kind of description will always alert someone who is trying to avoid sugar. I had to write RT three times before getting a canned answer, basically telling me to look at their online nutrition chart if I wanted to eat there. While I am glad for the nutrition chart, I am disappointed in the perceived need to prepare dishes with large amounts of sugar--and I am also deeply disappointed in the "blow off" attitude toward my concerns, which are common to many. read more

After being disappointed at the Durham and Raleigh locations, decided to take the extra drive to Mebane. Garden bar was clean and well stocked, server was friendly, steaks were cooked perfectly and the taste was amazing. Will definitely be taking this route from now on. Ruby Tuesday is a chain with a consistent menu and consistent quality. We had a group of 8. No problems. We ordered many things from sirloin steak to pork chops to shrimp and grits to Thai chicken. Ball was good. Service was adequate. Not an outstanding restaurant but a good dependable one. read more

Waitress made no attempt to approach us during the whole time to apologize or refill our drinks. Food itself was ok but otherwise not a pleasant experience. My husband and I have often stopped at this Ruby Tuesday and eaten at ones in Greensboro and Raleigh but....truly don't like the changes they've made to the salad bar (took out the best fruit salad ever - one of the reasons I liked to eat at a Ruby Tuesday - and the traditional broccoli salad (replaced it with one that I can't stand).........and now, when we were there a few weeks ago we found out no garlic biscuits which were their signature treat. The owners need to realize that they will be missing some of their regular customers because of these changes. I still like their basic offerings but miss the old salad bar and biscuits that made the whole dinning experience worth it. Also, the interior of all the Ruby Tuesdays need to be renovated. They are beginning to look and feel nasty. Here's one ex-regular customer that would like to see you return to the old menu and make your dinning spaces fresh and clean again; then I might return. read more

Every time I've ate here the service has always been slow VERY SLOW!!! I haven't been back in over 9 months and tonight I decide to give them a try by placing an order on line so that way I wouldn't have to wait. After placing a $65.00 order I return home and find that my order was wrong. I called to ask why I was given a grilled chicken plate when I ordered shrimp and grits. Finally after being put on hold 2 times for a total of 8 minutes I'm told that they were sorry for the mix up. Trying to not get upset I said that's ok I do live 8 miles away but will bring what I ordered back so iI could get the correct order. The response I was given was I'm sorry but we don't have shrimp and grits but they would gladly fix me something else. REALLY well I guess that's what you already did by fixing me whatever hoping I'd eat that. Needless to say I'll never order or step foot in this place again. Honestly what has happened to people who want to make sure they do their best to put the customer 1st. I can't figure out how they have stayed in business this long!! A $65 order SMH!!! This is a review about the service, more specifically the hostess. On a cold evening she sits us right in line with the door opening and closing. When we asked our waitress if we could move to a table we saw being cleaned off, she went to check with the hostess. (the station was right behind our table, so we could hear what was being said). The hostess told her it wouldn't matter, it would be the same there. We didn't get moved...we asked our waitress again that we wanted to move. She went to talk to a manager. In the mean time, the hostess sat another group in the table we had asked to move to. The waitress came back and said the manager said we could sit anywhere we wanted and she would help us move. As we walked by the hostess stand, she told our waitress nothing was open over there and nothing was clean...but there were plenty of tables available. We weren't sure why the hostess was so worried about where we sat. You could tell the waitress was very worried, the hostesses obnoxious attitude was going to effect her tip. The waitress was great though. And we appreciated her helping us. We were also disappointed the manager never stopped by our table. We saw her several times taking food to other tables, but she never bothered to stop and make sure we were more comfortable. Very disappointing. Will not be going back any time soon. read more

I wish there was an option not to choose a single star. On Monday, July 11, 2011, my husband and I, along with my Mother went to eat at the Ruby Tuesday in Mebane. We arrived a little before 6pm, my husband and I ordered the same dish, the penne pasta and shrimp. My mother ordered the fried shrimp, spaghetti squash and mashed potatoes. I will have to say the waiter was extremely nice and very jovial, so maybe this is where the one star applies. We sat there for quite awhile, when around 6:45 my mother got her dish, which was also met with a lot of apologies from our waiter, who confirmed again that we wanted shrimp with our pasta dish and not the chicken. When we acknowledged he was correct, he said sorry; I wrote it down correctly, but the chef cooked the wrong thing, so we will fix that for you in a jiffy. I think our waiter came to our table maybe 4-5 times saying a few more minutes, just a few more minutes. After the clock rolled 7pm, I had decided I had enough. Mom has already finished her meal and we then began beating ourselves up for not taking the chicken dishes, which were made by mistake. I asked the girl who seated us to bring the Manager to our table. Our meals arrived at the same time the Manager walked over. She apologized and was elated that our meals had finally arrived. In a little perturbed tone, I said thank you, but I hope you do the right thing by not making us not pay for at least one of these meals. She said, well before you said anything I had planned on doing something for you. She walked away and my husband and I preceded to eat our meal. I took a bite and my husband was about to take a bite, when he said; honey I don't think mine is done. I said let me see. Sure enough the shrimp was gray and not the pink I was looking for. I walked over to the Manager, who was at the bar talking to all of the associates in a little huddle, and I said.....I want you to know that my husbands meal has raw shrimp and at this point we just want to leave and I wanted to inform you that we will not be paying for anything for this poor experience. The Manager apologized and said it must have not gotten done because we were rushing to get your food to you. While I didn't say it outloud....I was thinking......RUSHING!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! Just an insult to my intelligence. I have cooked shrimp many times in my life and it doesn't take long at all to sear shrimp with spices in the fry pan or via a good boil. I don't know how this meal got to so messed up, but I will NEVER eat at this Ruby Tuesday in Mebane ever again. read more

I'm a local. The Mebane location was good when it opened but the service has steadily declined. We would only visit when we got a coupon in the mail and even then we'd get a take out meal. We haven't visited for a long time but we recently received a coupon in the mail. We were unhappy that we couldn't redeem it for a takeout meal though. We decided to take the chance and visit. Big mistake. I ordered the Asian Salmon with Zuchinni and salad bar. The salad bar is not as good as it used to be. They didnt' even have any crackers. We didn't receive any cheese biscuits which would have been nice since my friend had nothing to munch while we waited some time for the meal to arrive. My salmon was small about 2 x 4 ", charred and overcooked. It hadn't swam in an ocean since before I was born. I can't believe the price they charged for it $14.99. The zuchinni was raw. My friend's New Orleans Seafood was ok but they forgot the rice. We had to ask several times for cheese biscuits. I thought the commercials said endless cheese biscuits be I must be wrong. Ever since they introduced them we have to practically beg. They biscuits were about the size of a 50 cents piece and they were white not golden brown and crusty like we've had in the past. It is clear this location is a great place to work because they allow you to spend time standing around talking instead of doing any work. The whole time we were there the wait staff and hostesses were hanging around the bar/ drink area having a good time. Mebane doesn't have much to offer and this place shouldn't even be considered. Keep going to Burlington or even better Greensboro. Its a shame because there isn't anywhere in Mebane to get a steak or ribs. read more
