My husband I decided to go to this restaurant today since it was a nice day and it gives us about a 30 minute ride to feel like we are getting "away". Our waitress came to the table and asked for our order and when I asked for the salad/soup combo she stated that combo of only for the morning and I needed to choose something else. Keep in mind it does not say anything on the menu that it is only offered in the mornings. So I ordered crispy chicken with marinara sauce, melted cheese served on top of Mac and cheese. As we are waiting for our food to come, the table behinds us, having our same server, asked for the salad/ soup combo. She proceeds to tell them it is only offered in the mornings but that they could order the salad bar and order the soup as a side. Okay then why was I told I had to choose something else. Our food finally came and my husband had a combo of ribs, steak, and shrimp and said it was good but sadly, mine was lousy and I only ate a couple of bites and was done. I then figured I would eat a couple of the potato skins from the appetizer we also ordered. They were lousy too. On top of all of this, they were not that busy so it was not like they were running around trying to keep up. The waitress we had needs to learn that if she wants her tip, she needs to provide the same good service to everyone as we felt that she was picking and choosing the customers she wanted to give her service too which were the tables that had more than two people sitting at them. Also to note, the other table behind us only had two people and it sounded like they had a problem with her too. I will say the inside was very clean and the inside temperature was okay and the view from the window was nice but other than that we will not be back. I've been to this Location several times in the past but wanted to compliment the restaurant for our service and experience last night. Showed up here late with a party of 15 after a local BBall game ... the kind of situation where staff could have been more interested in going home rather than our experience. In the contrary ... Management was very accommodating and set us up quickly. Missy provided OUTSTANDING service. She guided us on our choices, steering at least one of our party away from certain menu item that has been negatively mentioned on Yelp reviews, highly recommended the glazed salmon when I asked and was glad she did. Done perfectly and paired well with a decent Pinot. The wait for the food was a bit long but most were taking advantage of the salad bar. When it did come out there were no mistakes and no complaints. Thanks for a nice experience. read more

We were told it was a 10 minute wait but it was over 20, I had order a cup of coffee and the waitress practically wringed the dregs out of the bottom of the pot. My wife has been a server for 35 years and asked her if she served me the old coffee since she had just washed her do that, the waitress replied no I held your cup underneath the coffee machine as it brew new coffee. This was a blatant lie since you could stick your finger right in the coffee and it was warm at best. We informed the manager and left the restaurant. I don't like being lied to half the restaurant was empty. If you don't have enough servers, let me know that it's gonna be a longer wait don't have empty booth all over the place and make me wait for what I was told was 10 minutes. If you had told me, it would be a 20 minute wait to server shortages whatever the problem is, I could understand that, but both face lie to me lie to me about the coffee. I'll never set foot in this particular restaurant again. read more

We ate there Friday, March 19, after a long drive from NY. It was conveniently located next to our hotel. We were so disappointed. They were short staffed but during COVID it was less than half capacity anyway. Waiter was very nice but was a little slow and forgetful. We were advised they were short a cook. Took a long time to get cream & sugar for coffee, by then it was cold. Returned for another-barely warm. Silverware was not clean, and the topper was all of our meals were cold except my salmon-sides were cold. What looked like a delicious Mac & cheese with crispy chicken for my son was ice cold. Some of our chicken wings were not cooked through, sides were again cold. We didn't eat most of it. Not sure if they had it sitting for a while, or didn't reheat at all. We were too tired to complain and we don't send food back anyway, but they should know their food is not hot at all. read more

I always loved Ruby Tuesday salad bar and was disappointed that they closed so many locations in Maryland and Delaware. I saw that there was one in New Freedom, Pennsylvania which isn't really that far so we decided to take a drive up for dinner last night. We got there about 445 and there was maybe six cars in the parking lot. We were seated promptly in the bar area which is not my preferred section but it was close to the salad bar. The salad bar certainly had less items that I was used to, but was quite good. It seem like they put out very small amounts of everything but refilled quickly as customers visited the salad bar. I ordered chicken fresco which was not good. The chicken itself was cooked well but the "roasted tomatoes" on top were stringy and overdone with balsamic. The rice pilaf was basically white rice with two tiny little pieces of red pepper. $15 for 2 small boneless pieces of chicken plus $5 for salad bar is overpriced. I used to like the tiny biscuits that Ruby Tuesday had but the girl that brought our food (not our waitress) said they no longer serve bread with meals due to Covid.... Not really understanding that comment but whatever. My dining companion had the spicy shrimp with pasta and although it looked like there was adequate shrimp they were very tiny. He said the flavor was OK but it was more of a dry spice sprinkled on vs actually cooking the shrimp in a spiced sauce. I would say the salad bar + entrees were ok-good, probably 3 star worthy, but the reason for the two stars is really the service. Our waitress spent most of the time behind the bar chatting with a biker dude who was there the entire time we were there but only seem to have two drinks and no food. Of the four tables in the bar that had the same waitress, every time anyone needed something, she just seemed annoyed every time she had to leave the bar. What's odd is there were other waitresses in the dining area that were super attentive to their customers. We won't be back, there's many restaurants in & around the area that have much better service and food. It sure explains why they shut down the locations if this is the way customers are treated plus subpar food. read more

As I appreciate the restaurant being open and offfering a BOGO, It was not worth the drive to pick up. We both travel a lot and choose to eat at Ruby Tuesday's across the country so we are very familiar with their products. Last night was the worst meals we have ever gotten from them. I gave it one star as the server was so nice and helpful. I suggest she get another job where she can back good products. My husband go a rib eye and tasted nasty, had to throw it out. We both got green beans that tasted bad, like sour. And we both ordered grill shrimp. They were not grilled, must have been thrown in the microwave, too hard and was sprinkled with some kind of seasoning. They were just bad. I alway liked Ruby Tuesday but most in the area have closed. Drove a bit to get to this one because I missed going to one in York. The service was ok, hoping the server was new because he didn't seem to familiar with menu items. Tried the new Fiesta menu and the shrimp fajitas and chicken tacos were not bad but the portion amounts were very small. My wife and I are not big eaters and neither item came with any side dishes but we finished most of both items which never happens. No specials or coupons sent out by Ruby's anymore so dishes seem really small when paying full price. I travel a lot and seemed like most customers in there were business travelers from the hotel next door so probably there on company expense so don't worry about the cost vs the small portions. read more

I'm typically not a fan of these chains. Service tends to be terrible, food is worse than a school cafeteria, and the very thought of stepping into a place like this sends chills down my spine. In a bind - and in need of vegan eats - after a long day at the Spoutwood Festival, however, it became the group's saving grace. Thankfully, none of my fears were ever realized. First off, service was great. The hostess made sure we got a table in a reasonable amount of time for a group of eleven. The server was even better, tackling all our orders and getting every last one correct, even knowing exactly who to deliver the food to as it came out. He was up front about the cost of the top shelf drinks (the well mixers are only $5 but I like my high quality stuff) and was very patient with the group as we fished our way around the menu. Even the vegans got the right orders - veggie burgers without cheese or mayo. Fantastic job, sir! Well-earned tip, especially after splitting our checks CORRECTLY and not doing auto-tip. Seriously, spot on! The salad bar was very fresh and was constantly being replaced. Nothing ever went stale or flat. I had the avocado quesadilla which was the only miss - I didn't realize it would have red peppers in it and I'm not a fan of those. I wish they were listed on the menu... Bar was cozy, though the stools are bolted down, so you can't push them back. Hope you don't mind a tight fit! Servers were friendly, though. Bartender Allie was very nice, made a great Manhattan. Didn't dine there on this occasion, but the gent next to us seemed to dig his wings and salad bar (which looked very fresh, even late at night). Steak was rubbery and salty. Looked at the salad bar and there was no way I was eating anything from there. Service was ok. She did take care of our needs so that was the best part of the visit. I had BBQ Sliders with the salad bar and was very pleased with the service being seated, taking our order, getting our food cooked and delivered. Even during "normal" time we enjoyed going here but they have been our curbside oasis and their Ribeye and Salmon entrees are the best - we've eaten there at least once a week sometimes more during the entire 9 months and will keep doing so. Our dinner was disappointing. Small portions. Overcooked sirloin steaks. We asked for medium well. They came out well done. Grandson got lemonade and it tastes like no sweetener was added and was warm. Tried fantail shrimp also overcooked or bad dryer oil. It was only 4p.m. not very busy. Salad bar was fresh. My husband and I have been to the New Freedom PA location many times. We always have a great experience. Last night, I tried the cajun ribeye and it was cooked to a perfect medium and was so tender. I wish I could review this place at a zero. That is what it truly deserves. I will make my review quick and to the point. The last couple of times my wife and I went here were dreadful. The service was bad, the food was bad and even the drinks were horrible. When you spend like 8 bucks on a cocktail it better not be ice with a splash of fruit juice and alcohol. And if that wasn't enough, the last 2 times I deffinately noticed that I ended up feeling ill afterward. I stopped at this Ruby Tuesday's for a drink after dinner. Main reason was it was right next door to my hotel, so I didn't have to drive. First impression, it reminded me of Eat N' Park but served alcohol. I sat at the bar that instead of barstools, had more lounge chair looking things on a swivel pole. I bellied up and looked at their very slim options. I decided on a Heineken and asked the bartender if they sold six packs to go. She says they do not but pointed me to another place just a stone throw away that did. I decided I was only going to have the one since I wanted to get to the other establishment before it got too late, and honestly the scene was quite boring here. I finished and was asked if I wanted another. I declined and paid the bill. With tip $6.00. Pretty pricy for a beer in a diner. Perks were obviously the proximity to my hotel, and the bartender was nice. Cons no six packs to go, limited options, closed pretty early, and nothing to keep a mind occupied. Just alright. No horrible experience to recount but I've been here a handful of times and nothing I've ordered has ever been great. Usually everything is salted to the excess. Fries, burgers, pastas, and soups are all way over salted. I like to taste my food not just taste salt. The salad bar is a solid option. Worst visit to Ruby Tuesday ever. We stopped here visiting from MD hoping it would be a great experience but unfortunately that was not the case. First a well done burger was sent to the table when medium was ordered. That could easily be fixed but the server continued trying to pawn the well done burger off on us as if she didn't want to send it back. Red flag one. So the new medium burger comes back out along with the other burger order. This time both burgers were cooked correctly but the fries were heavily salted... I mean loaded down with salt so you could see it. Disgusting. At this point it's seeming obvious why the server did not want to send the food back. Two. She keeps telling us she's bringing out fresh biscuits for us. Garlic biscuits never came and when they did they came toward the end of the meal and they were cold and nasty. Another person in our party ordered a drink from the bar. Fail there as well. Three when my food came the server dropped an egg roll on me. She apologized then said enjoy the food and left. Dropping the food wasn't the problem...she didn't even try to make it up to me or even seem genuinely sorry. I noticed some of the food was cold but but at this point no one wanted to complain and she just seemed too unbothered to fix anything. Never offered to fix it. Brought sweet tea instead of diet tea. This individual was still tipped fairly based on the suggested tips at the bottom but wow this was horrible. Service was bad. Food was bad. We didn't even call the manager. Ate dinner there last night with my wife and daughter. I ordered the steak and shrimp with the steak to be well done. Service was a little slow and the place busy so it took a while for the food to arrive at the table. The steak was bloody rare. I flagged down the server who readily offered to replace the steak. Having been put off by the bloody plate I asked to substitute a chicken carbonara dish - thinking it would come out fairly quickly and I could still enjoy a meal with my family. The dish sat under the warming lights in the kitchen window for more than 15 minutes. When it finally arrived at the table (where my wife and daughter had finished eating) it was an amorphous doughball topped with chicken and congealed sauce. Now I understand the challenges of maintaining adequate staff under the current social and economic vagaries of the pandemic BUT if you do not have the staff to fully operate then you should not fill the establishment with customers. The service was TERRIBLE, the food was GROSS, and the experience was just an INSULT. The odds of my shadow crossing the threshold of a Ruby Tuesday establishment are ZERO. read more

Well the food and service were ok. BUT, listen to this. We had several of us that were sitting together (and we're getting separate checks). Several of us had coupons. SO here is why the one star and I will not be going back to ANY Ruby Tuesday's....only one coupon per table. Not per couple or per check.....per party (even though we weren't a party). WOW. Is this crazy or what. This will not go over well in York County or in any place in my opinion. So count me as an ex-customer of Ruby Tuesdays. Always gross. Have gotten a spoiled crab cake, when done right they still taste like sour dough. Burned "Cajun shrimp", not so great salad bar, burger tasted like pure salt and tomato, etc etc. Did have good shrimp Alfredo once, and appetizer. When I got the spoiled crab cake 2-3 of the people I was with tasted to make sure it wasn't just me and they told me something was definitely wrong with it and returned it. Choices are limited here in town for restaurants. We eat dinner here maybe once a month. The service is always friendly and helpful. The restaurant is kept clean but they could use new table coverings and chairs; they look dirty because they are old . The chairs are very rickety and I'm afraid to move much. This chain has the tiniest booths ever and they try to fit 4 people in them which is difficult: especially in the winter as there is no place for coats. Our food has always been good, fresh and hot. Not the best food in the world but a good value for price paid. read more
