Celebrated some birthdays ( Aunt turned 89) and Bruce was kind enough to have him use the restaurant for 50 plus people ... it was amazing ... the perfect backdrop for such an event and the food was yummy and of course the staff was 10 plus attentive and accommodating ... Huhma the manager was there and made sure everyone had the perfect time !!!

A friend of our recommended Ruggles Black and said we needed to try it. It did not disappoint, they are a Paleo and Keto restaurant and their menu is plenty long. We made reservations for a Friday, reservations preferred but not required. When we went they had plenty of tables open, both indoor and out doors. Casual chic is the vibe but I noticed not a strict dress code which is nice. Some stand out dishes were the Paleo Angry Shrimp, the Stuffed Goat Chicken, and the Pork Chop. We also ended with the carrot cake and omg it was just incredible. We will be back just to try more items on the menu!

Excellent meal! Everything was deliciously fresh and packed with flavor. The service was a little slow, but once things got going, it was good. Shoutout to Ashley for ensuring we were taken care of. Even the chef was on the floor directing patrons to their seats. And the dessert board?! To die for! Ask to see it, even if you're only contemplating it. Great experience, we plan to refer and return!

I'm celiac, and honestly think that this was the best, most delicious gluten free, celiac-safe restaurant food I've ever eaten. Antonio was wonderful, and provided such reassurance and detail about our food choices, plus he was such a joy. We ordered the short rib pizza, lamb burger, mushroom soup, and chips and queso. Would all highly recommend.

My first time returning back to this place in a while. Met a friend for HRW. I see they moved locations from down the street off the freeway. The hostess told me they moved locations to this one 3 years ago. I also inquired on what happened to Ruggles on the Green. She states those turned in to Bella green (or Sweet Green). Parking- is valet only. No self park option. But maybe you could find something down the street or in a neighborhood? They have regular parking for $5, and VIP parking for $10. Still unclear on the difference of the two besides the $$. The decor was cute, nicely designed for an elevated look. It's divided between bar seating with natural sunlight. And the dinning area more moody and dim with chandeliers all over. Service - was amazing thanks to Jose! 5 stars on him. He anticipated our needs, was warm friendly and provided excellent service. Please give this man a raise! Food- First course was there tomatoe basil bisque. I love soup, and gobbled this down in minutes. I liked the blanched carrots as a topping of the soup. Was very tasty. My main entree was the Chilean Sea Bass with mixed veg. Came out hot hot hot and good. Last was the keto lemon cheesecake. I was pretty full from the soup and the sea bass. But somehow I rationalized that the cheesecake was too small of a piece to take home, so just decided to eat it there. I left stuffed! We stayed there late and they never rushed us out. Thank you Ruggles!

I came for HRW and, unfortunately, was not very impressed by the food. I will preface by saying that I did not come in knowing that the restaurant was a health-conscious establishment. I appreciated the numerous paleo and keto options available for individuals with dietary restrictions, as well as the extensive HRW menu. However, the healthy substitutes were very noticeable with certain dishes. I shared with a friend and we got the calamari and the paleo short rib taco to start. We got the tandoori pepper crusted grassfed filet mignon with garlic jalepeno chive butter and the fresh made pasta with sausage, chicken, and short rib for our mains. For dessert, we had the paleo lemon cheesecake and the tres leches. The calamari was solid. It was crispy and I liked how it came with 3 different sauces. My favorite was the creamy tartar- like sauce. (6.5/10) The paleo short rib taco was also tasty. Though I was weary about the tortilla substitute, the flavors of the fresh veggies and sauce with the short rib were very nice. My only wish was that the order came with more than one taco. (7/10) The filet mignon was also solid. The meat itself was tender; however, the portion was very small, which was quite noticeable, especially when served on such a large plate. The vegetables on the side also came in such a small portion and were just boiled, so nothing special. The mashed cauliflower had a weird aftertaste and was disappointing to me because I was expecting velvety mashed potatoes. (5.5/10) The pasta was okay. I liked how they included a lot of protein as promised by the name of the dish. However, I did not love the choice of angel hair pasta for this dish, and the tomato sauce was pretty basic. (5/10) The paleo lemon cheesecake was my preferred dessert out of the two. It had a great lemon flavor and was the right balance of sweet and tart. The only thing I didn't love was the coconut cream on top. I'd prefer a normal whipped cream. (6/10) The tres leches was okay. I thought the sponge cake was moist but not soaked in the milk like I'd expect for a tres leches. I was also confused about the sauces that they incorporated on the side of the dish. I didn't feel as though they enhanced the dessert at all. (5/10) Overall, the service was good and the valets were very kind. Parking is valet only, which is a $5 charge. The ambiance is really nice with the dim lighting and chandeliers to give it more of an upscale vibe. Unfortunately, despite the grand looks, the food did not wow me in the same way. Though it was not necessarily my cup of tea, I think it is a good option for those who have dietary restrictions and are looking for a nice place to have dinner.

The ample keto and Paleo menu options caught my attention when I came across Ruggles Black on the Houston Restaurant Week menu and I had to try them out. Upon arrival the valets were super polite and helpful. Walked inside and the hostess was also super sweet. She sat us at our table. Shortly after we were greeted by the very best server, Jose! From start to finish he was so warm, welcoming, calm, polite, helpful, friendly but not too chatty, great at anticipating our needs, knowledgeable about the menu. He was basically perfect and my ideal server. The food was delicious. For my first course I had their tomato basil soup. It was the perfect portion size, super flavorful and just the right temperature, warming me up in the slightly cool restaurant as I sat there in my sleeveless shirt and Bermuda length shorts. My second and main course was their incredible grilled chicken breast with avocado lime cilantro tequila butter. It came with a side of mashed cauliflower and mixed sauteed vegetables. The chicken breast was also a perfect portion, kinda big which is always a lovely surprise during restaurant week. It was so juicy, tender and had so much flavor. The lime cilantro tequila butter was amazing and perfectly complimented the chicken. I dragged some of my veggies and mashed cauliflower in the butter as well and it tasted so good on those too. The best part, the meal had no impact on my glucose at all. It remained in a perfectly healthy range. Well that's until I ate my third course, their delectible white chocolate bread pudding but that was to be expected. The pudding was a smaller portion size for HRW. It was warm and melted in my mouth along with the small ice cream scoop they placed on top. It also came with a strawberry mint garnish that I also gobbled down. All courses of my food were perfect Also the restaurant is beautiful inside. Although they light actual candles at each table and the wax started spilling onto our table during our meal. Pro tip: Stick with the $5 valet parking. There is zero difference between the $5 parking and the $10 VIP parking. I sprang for VIP, while my friend got the $5 parking and they actually parked her car a little closer than mine.

Heard a lot about this place so we were excited to be here. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice. Service was a bit lacking. We were there for lunch, the restaurant is not packed but our servers were definitely not visible when needed. We had a table for 12. When came to food , presentation was Ok but the food was not that great at all. Overall experience was not impressive. By the way, they only have valet parking at the restaurant and it costs $5 during lunch hours. I was told $10 at nite.

Made resy ahead of time and was able to get seated right away. Came during lunch and for their HRW 2025 menu. It is a very healthy restaurant (paleo, gluten free, vegetarian friendly). For HRW, got the Brussels Sprouts (pretty good balsamic flavoring and had some crisp), Chicken Parmesan (pretty average tasting) and the bread pudding (i was most disappointed that they added the strawberry syrup on top of the ice cream instead of on the side as optional). Not busy during lunch time on a friday. Restroom - clean Parking - $6 valet (card) and $5 valet (cash)

DAMNNN. How have I not been here before? I've been cutting added sugar so this was perfect. So many paleo and keto options and the short rib biryani WAS INSANELY GOOD. One of the best dishes I've had at a restaurant ever. It was sweetened with dates and figs and the short rib was a very generous portion and perfectly tender. My mom's curry seafood ramen had an excellent flavor and was loaded with various proteins. The paleo lava cake was delicious as well and the coconut ice cream was the perfect touch- I can't believe it was paleo!! Definitely will be back soon to try the pizzas and pastas! Food came out very quickly as well!

I had been here years ago ( in another location) and enjoyed it but maybe my palette has changed - back this time for a work trip and found it reminded me of wedding food! Lovely service throughout - began with a French75 that was too sweet and not cold enough then we all shared appetizers! They were okay but not fabulous- calamari which is not my favorite dish turned out to be the thing! Had Ahi as my main course - it was okay but the sweet potato slice on the dish was better. As we ended they brought one of those fake dessert trays you used to see at chain restaurants maybe 15 years ago! They had way too many offerings which was reflected in the quality - I got a tiramisu - or at least that was what they called it! It has zero coffee that I could taste and appeared to be a brownie base not ladyfingers and cool whip! Weird and bad! Did not eat it! Not bad, not good but not for me !

We had a really great experience at Ruggles Black. When we walked in, we did not realize how nice the atmosphere would be. It was a wonderful dining experience. The service was excellent and our waiter Lenard gave us all of the great suggestions. The goat cheese salad was phenomenal and was quite filling. The pepporoni pizza was solid but a little bit greasy for my preference. When you go, ask to see the dessert tray and get the Charlotes Web. It was one of the best desserts I have ever had. Note- There is valet at the restaurant for $5. I did not see any self park option.

    Yup

Do they have a kids menu/smaller portions available?

No kids menu. Food portions are enough and well balanced. European style and quality. Also good…

Are they requiring rsvp for valentines?

It's Valentine's day. Every place except Burger King will require a reservation

    Do they require reservations?

It kind of depends. You should be able to get in no problem with a small (4 or less) party on the week nights. But I'd recommend a reservation for a Friday or Saturday night because they get busy then.

First, we got there pretty early for our reservation. We sat almost immediately upon check in. Our waiter was in training but did a really good job. Ordered a whiskey sour. The pink one, whatever it was, was really pretty! On to the food. We got two apps, two meals, and two desserts. Husband ordered the Brussels, Steak Frites, and the Devil's Affogato. I got the Bacon covered Dates, the Pizza, and the Sticky Toffee Cake. The Brussels were good - husband liked them more than me. They were good. Had cashews in them. Little spicy. The bacon covered dates. Think this was my favorite bite. Sweet, salty, creamy. Came we three & I had two. The pizza was sweet and salty as well. The crust was so good and fresh. The arugula set it off so well. Def a buy again! The Steak Frites was so good. The chimichurri sauce was perfect. Just the right mount of citrus. Steak was tender and the fries seasoned well. The desserts - don't skip them! The Devils Affogato we had the first time we ate at Sixty Vines. Had to have it again. If you like coffee, chocolate and vanilla ice cream just get it. I opted for the high top right by the kitchen, and honestly, great choice -- it smelled amazing. Most people prefer not to sit by the kitchen with all the foot traffic but I didn't mind it at all. Nobie's is a house that's been transformed into a restaurant. One of the bartenders told me it's a 104-year-old house, and the whole place has very "house party" vibes in the best way. The music is LOUD. And it gets progressively louder as the night goes on, so if that's not your vibe, keep that in mind. But I was very into it. Lil Flip was playing when I walked in and it took me back to high school house parties. On shuffle were more throwbacks and classics: Ludacris and "Notorious Thugs" by Biggie. The chairs, however, were not my favorite. They're low-backed and kind of cage-like, with only a thin cushion, so they aren't exactly the most comfortable for a long meal. Started with a cocktail: the Remolacha del Corazón -- beet tequila, mezcal, watermelon (house-made syrup), lime and a tajín rim. You can hardly taste the mezcal, which I'm assuming is the point. I like mezcal so it would have been nice to taste it but the beet tequila is definitely the star, with the watermelon and lime adding a nice balance. Appetizer: Don't Worry, Brie Happy ($18). Brie, local honey, smoked grapes, toast. There was basically no local honey on my plate, but those smoked grapes?! They're topped with flaky salt while they're still hot and OMG!! The combination of warm, smoky, sweet and salty was fantastic. My only complaint was the amount of toast. There was a little too much toast for the amount of brie and grapes, so the ratios felt slightly off. Main course: Jamón With Your Bad Self ($45). Ibérico secreto pork steak, tonnato, shaved Brussels sprouts, salsa verde and almonds. I'm particular about pork, so I was taking a bit of a chance here, but this dish sounded too interesting to pass up. The pork steak was cooked perfectly and had some wonderfully crispy pieces around the edges. The tonnato underneath the pork was really good. It almost reminded me of a Caesar dressing and added this rich, savory element to the dish. The shaved Brussels sprouts were great, too, especially with the almonds and Parmesan. Everything worked really well together. Dessert: Olive Oil Cake. A house staple, and for good reason. A lovely way to end the meal. Overall, Nobie's has a really fun, unpretentious energy. Between the old-house setting, loud music and memorable dishes, it feels like somewhere you go to hang out as much as you go to eat. Just know what you're getting into with the volume and the seating -- this is not exactly a quiet, polished fine-dining experience, and that's kind of the charm.

We ordered: Sicilian Tar Tar, Arancini, Cappelletti, Orecchiette, and Tiramisu. The Sicilian Tar Tar was very fresh and light however, the star dish of the evening was the complimentary bread basket. The breads are baked in-house so they tasted very fresh and so delicious. I would definitely return for the bread basket and to try other dishes but I would not order the Cappelletti or Orecchiette again. Both dishes were more on the bland side and the Tiramisu was just okay to me. Perhaps the ladyfingers were soaked too long or something because I didn't get any texture of it. I also did not taste any coffee flavor. I definitely would not order that again.

We had a 7pm reservation for two, and it was in a corner with a small table and high bar stools. It was very hot. We were sweaty, and I am normally very cold in restaurants. I think they go a little overboard with saying that having food here is like traveling the world and breaks down barriers. I like the concept though. They could do more with the decor to give it more of a world traveler vibe. They definitely tried. They were playing American hip hop music, which does not fit the international theme. We got the three course dinner, which was $60 each plus tip. The food was good but did not feel like it was worth the price. For appetizers, we got the Mochiko Chicken and Crispy Pork Belly in Pasilla Sauce. We liked the chicken a lot, and it came with a sweet mango chutney and spicy mayo sauce. The pork belly was alright. It was pretty standard. For entrees, we got the Singaporean Shrimp Laksa and Nigerian Suya Skewers. I liked the noodles and curry, but the fish cakes were not that appetizing. The skin was much bigger than the meat inside, so it would weirdly inflate or deflate. The shrimp came with their tails on, so I got my hands slimy with curry. I did not personally try the beef, but I was informed it was a 3.85/5 and 4/5 with the sauce. The laksa was a decently sized portion, but the beef was quite the small portion with a few chunks and a bit of rice and tomatoes. For dessert, we enjoyed the Orange Torta Caprese and New Orleans Bourbon Bread Pudding. I was kind of confused why the chocolate cake was called torta. It was very small but nice and rich. The orange flavour was strong. The bread pudding, on the other hand, was very big. Although it wasn't pudding. There was a large piece of the bread in whole form. It was delicious. I did not taste bourbon.

They have an outdoor eating area, a bar area, and seating in the very back. It's very spacious, comfortable, and intimate. The theme of the restaurant is seen all over from the moment you enter, to the music, the menu and the restroom. They paid close attention to detail with decorating. We had an amazing server, delicious drinks (a must try), and ok food. We ordered four drinks the painkilla, vamos à la playa, captains grog, and the Hemingway daiquiri. All were great drinks and we loved how they give you flavor characteristics of the drinks on the menu. The appetizers that we ordered were the sweet and sour cauliflower and the pork dumplings, which is why I gave this place four stars. The presentation of both appetizers were excellent. However, the pork dumplings were disappointing. They came with only six dumplings for $17, were served cold, and are very bland. In my opinion, they weren't worth the price. On the other hand, the sweet and sour cauliflower was our favorite and is definitely a must-try.

The overall vibe is casual and welcoming, making it a great place to grab a few drinks with friends or coworkers. The indoor and outdoor seating options are nice when Houston isn't blistering hot. Parking can be tough, though, since the lot is shared with a couple of other restaurants. That said, this recent visit was overshadowed by what was easily the most awkward and least customer-focused service experience I've had here. I was dining with a group of friends, and one friend ordered a meal to eat there along with another item to go. There was a little confusion when the order was placed, but we thought everything had been clarified. When the food arrived, both items were served on plates for the table. We politely explained that one of them was supposed to be a to-go order. It turned out the server had entered an additional order and believed we wanted both items for the table. What bothered me wasn't the mistake itself--those happen. It was the response. There was no apology, and instead we were told the misunderstanding was due to how we had communicated the order. We decided to keep all the food and move on, but the interaction felt unnecessarily defensive. I came a little late and was looking at the menu and asked whether they still had the fried eggplant dish that had been on the menu before. The response was simply, "No." No explanation, no follow-up, just an awkward silence. It set the tone for the rest of the interaction. So I decided to let her know I'll continue to look. This response was so uncomfortable that I later decided not to order anything at all. At one point, the server mentioned she had overheard us talking about having a "crazy weekend" and seemed to use that as an explanation for the earlier confusion. Whether there was miscommunication on both sides or not, the overall experience felt unnecessarily tense. I've typically had wonderful experiences here, which is why this visit stood out so much. The food, drinks, and atmosphere are still reasons I'd come back, but please avoid assigning Naya to customers if she's not willing to be a bit more cordial.

Okay, Nancy's Hustle is officially a HIDDEN GEM!…read more I chose this place for dinner based on a recommendation, and it absolutely did not disappoint. This was the dinner portion of a first date, and the vibe was PERFECT. First things first--Nancy's Hustle is kind of tucked away, so you need to know where you're going. Map yourself there and pay attention because you could easily pass right by it. But once I opened that door... YES! It's a small, intimate restaurant with low lighting, a bar, table seating and a patio. We arrived before the patio opened at 7:00, which was perfectly fine with me because I actually prefer sitting at the bar. The whole space just had that cozy, intimate, grown-folks-date-night feel without trying too hard. We started with cocktails. My date ordered one of their summer cocktails--I cannot remember the name to save my life --but it was a beautiful yellow drink served with a pineapple slice, and it was GOOD! I stuck with my favorite, a classic Long Island, and they made it perfectly. Now let's talk about this FOOD! We tried the Parmesan and Pancetta Croquettes, and they were delicious. Crispy on the outside and incredibly soft, creamy, savory and cheesy inside, with shredded Parmesan across the top. Even the presentation was beautiful. I ordered the cheeseburger, and I almost NEVER get excited about somebody changing up a burger, but this one came on an English muffin and IT WORKED! The fresh beef smash burger was cooked perfectly. I left off the pickles, aioli and onions, but otherwise I wouldn't have changed a thing. It was honestly one of the best-prepared burgers I've had in a while. Then, halfway through my burger, I discovered they had French fries. How did I miss the fries?! So of course I ordered them late, and I'm glad I did. Fresh, hand-cut potatoes, perfectly cooked, and served with a dipping sauce that I cannot identify--but whatever was in that little cup needs to keep happening because it was AMAZING. From the cocktails to the food to the atmosphere, Nancy's Hustle was exactly what I wanted for a first-date dinner: intimate, relaxed, interesting and GOOD. Definitely one of those places that makes you say, "How have I never been here before?" Nancy's Hustle, I WILL be back.

I really love the garlic aioli! I love that they have seasonal items and I would like to come back when the apple crisp is back on the menu.
