Went to Rum Runners for the first time this past Sunday night after everything closed up at 9pm. This place was still happy to have us stop by. Man behind the bar was super nice and full of info. Several good draft beers(I had the Goose Island- IPA) and full bar. They serves biscuits and gravy in the AM and have other "bar food" items available. Adding some craft beers would be nice but still plenty to choose from. In short- I've driven by this place countless times but now I know what it actually has to offer. I will undoubtedly be back at some point. Also, I would recommend checking it out if your looking for great service and that neighborhood bar feel. read more

This is the kind of place I just simply love writing a review for, and a 5 STAR review at that! It's a small local bar a few blocks from my house. After living here for a few months I finally decided to pop-in for a shot and a beer! Great local crowd, and being ThanksGiving, I thought I was going to be a bit lonely. Well, I was wrong! Such a welcoming crowd, and they even had a ThanksGiving Buffett! The Food was fantastic, and hands down the best Turkey White Meat I have ever had! Stuffing hit the spot as well as Mashed Potatoes and Corn and some marvelous Cranberry Sauce! Finished off with a wonderful Fudge Brownie. When I came back to my table after fixing myself a plate, there was a couple sitting there and asked if I minded if they shared a table with me. Of course I don't mind! It turned out to be the owner and his friend. Had some great conversation and thanked him for the wonderful food and making me feel right at home on my 1st Thanksgiving alone! Best little bar in Phoenix! They do fundraisers year round like adopting a military family for Christmas. The owner Debi adopts all her regulars and her employees. Took my mom and she said it's the first bar she actually felt safe going to just her and her daughters! We love our bar and after one night it feels like home I promise visit this bar you will too. Neighbor may look bad and it may seem like a hole in the wall but I swear once inside time flies and you will be coming back for theme nights and events! read more

Fun little dive bar, one pool table, one shuffleboard table, and many regulars. We went on karaoke night (Saturday) and played pool. I was a bit weirded out by a regular who couldn't keep his eyes off me. I was told they have goldfish races, hence the tank full of them! It apparently is a great time. Fun night, everyone was friendly and welcoming. It was also an unusually eventful night. Fire truck, ambulance and a car backing into the fire truck! Whew! read more

So it's definitely a dive bar... Most definitely not a place that looks anything to.safe to be in if not from around area as lets face it is after all Sunnyslope lol ..., but I have been there twice in a couple month span once early morning on weekend as my friend told me they serve free breakfast (just small crock pots of gravy , biscuits and sausage patties if I recall right but I was starving and drunk so a purchase of a drink jukebox and two loud friends free breakfast was my hook to staying... The owner I believe or maybe just manager or bartender Parker I believe was behind counter both times... Really really nice friendly and just funny funny funny... This a good little dive bar off of 7th st. Drinks were good the owner working and seemed happy to have us there. Some regulars spoke very highly of the place and were friendly to talk with. Happy hour has some munchies and popcorn along with good drink prices. Stop in a given a try. We went twice while in town we had such a good time. read more

Ahhhh the Rum Runner! I have to say from the minute my brother and I walked in a few months back, we were greeted by Cindy the bartender and Deb, one of the owners. Since then it has become " our" local hangout. Great owners, great patrons, great bartenders, and great prices, plus the added bonus is the happy hour food everyday! If you read between the lines on this place, tons of everyday locals hang here, and on any given evening just check out the cars in the parking lot, that will tell you all you need to know about the patrons and their place in the social setting of life! Definitely one of my favorite bars that I have been to in recent times. I love that they put on comedy shows it is fun to watch while drunk or just enjoying a cocktail. I also like the pool table in back. For a small bar that I had not heard of before it definitely felt homey and I felt comfortable at once. Drinks were reasonably priced. This place has a very friendly and caring staff. It is a dive bar but oh is it a dive in every good sense of the term. Pool table, giant Jenga and karaoke. Came here last minute for New Years Eve and they treated us like royalty, rushing us in and serving us champagne and party favors right before the countdown. They saved New Years Eve for our party and we are very grateful to them for this! On a regular night you can expect to enjoy their drink specials and play a number of different fun games. They send out a weekly email update to let you know what they have going on. This place is super friendly without invading your private life or over stepping boundaries. The only drawback, they don't serve food everyday and the place is just a little cozy for my taste. Other than that I like this place and would come back for a drink:)) read more

I was looking for a safe dive bar less than 5 miles from home and this place delivered. Clean inside with wood paneled walls, Christmas lights string on the ceiling in May, and odd parrot and pirate decorations. The crowd was definitely consistently much older. My boyfriend and I are 31 and 34, and we were the youngest ones in here by at least 2 decades for the 2 hours we put drinks back. Jimmy Buffet was playing, and the bartender had no idea what a midori sour was but did the best she could to deliver. I'm also the asshole who ordered a midori sour in a dive bar so that was really my bad. Towards 1030ish we had random people walking through the bar trying to get my boyfriend and others to buy roses out of buckets. I prefer to be romanced in other ways like trips to dive bars. Kinda felt like being hustled in Mexico on the beach. Fun place, safe, friendly older crowd and bartender. Our tab was less than 50 for like 7 cocktails and tip. read more
