Tried this restaurant several months ago before boarding our Southwest flight, had one hour to spare, food took so long to come out we had to take it Togo. Grilled grouper on a plane was not a very pleasant smell. Thought we give them another try on our next time at the same terminal. Ordered scrambled eggs. I have fine-dined in some of the best of the best. For an airport restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised with RumFish. Food was excellent, but service was by far superior! Whittney was professional, courteous... and exactly what this weary traveler needed after a very long and stressful day. She asked what time my flight was leaving, assisted the customer next to me in finding an outlet for her phone charger, gave me great feedback on my menu choices, and overall provided a magnificent dining experience. Despite the fact that I was sipping back a Miller Lite, I felt like I was in a white-table-cloth kind of atmosphere with this quality of service. Mad props, Whittney! Grabbed a bite while at the Tampa airport before our flight. Normally, I hate airports, hate restaurants in airports and the whole experience is usually awful. At RumFish (terminal C), everything was wonderful. We were greeted by a host who was kind and professional- who also checked on us during our meal. Our waiter, Daniel, was the same- so nice, efficient, professional. There are very few restaurants, period, that offer this kind of holistically good service- much less at an airport. We had a delay & decided to try RumFish. We sat at the bar. The Bartender took our order. I ordered the Caesar salad w/ grilled Salmon. My Boo ordered the Curry. We waited 30 minutes before we were served & I knew something was wrong. Especially when the people next to us received their food after arriving 15 minutes later. When the food finally arrived it was a big disappointment, there were NO grill marks on the salmon it was poached. (I can't stand poached). The only reason I ordered was because it said Grilled. And it was Rare! Fortunately the Curry was good. I asked the bartender to cook the salmon a bit more & he brought another serving of poached salmon, that tasted even worse. He also said they were not charging us for my salmon. That's why I'm giving 3 stars. He knew they messed up. Although they didn't own it. They just said they were busy. Lots of dishes walked by that looked delicious. But they all were fried. So if you're looking for something fried this may be your place. read more

The food was really bad this time. I ordered a medium rare burger and was served well done. Anyone who understands how meat should be cooked can appreciate this critique. And the fries looked like they were from yesterday. Two weeks ago, the food was awesome, which is why I came back. I felt the manager should have comped my $16 meal, which probably cost them $4. I travel to Tampa quite a bit, so it would have been good for business to comp a less than half eaten entree. (I ate half bc I was legit super hungry.) That being said, the service was perfect. Me and my family decided to kill some time while waiting for our flight back home. We decided to eat at this restaurant... I informed the waiter multiple times that my 2 year old daughter has an peanut nut and tree nut allergy. My entire family (my husband & her Grandparents) asked multiple time what type of oil do they use to fried their food and do they use the same fryer to fry foods that contains any type of nuts. The waiter informed us multiple times that they use veggie oil and ensure us of no cross contamination.! Our food took 20 mins to arrival to our table, my daughter only eat a few french fries, and we hurried to eat our food, due to fear of missing our flight. Once we boarded the plane I noticed that my 2 year old daughter was very fussy and vigorously scratching at her entire body. I instantly removed her clothes and noticed she was completely covered in hives from her neck down. Thank God I didn't have to administer her Epi pen because I had benadryl in my bag to give. Im just thankful that I was able to catch this disaster before she went into anaphylactic shock. My daughter has an severe food allergy- food allergies are medical conditions that need to be taken serious and handle carefully. I do not recommend eatting at this restaurant if you have an food allergy because you can not trust the people who work there. read more

My family of four had breakfast here before flying home August 30. Restaurant was almost empty at 7:00am. Very nice waitress. Very attentive.All of us ordered the 2 eggs, bacon, toast, and hash browns for $10. Food was presented well and it was good. Food came quickly and was as ordered. Would love to try some of the more exotic seafood breakfast items, but with flying early not this time :) A bit high, but as airports go, you expect this. My wife is a big fan of Tanked and enjoyed seeing the aquarium. Will consider eating again next time in Tampa. read more
