While he was there another worker came to ask if we had been taken care of. I told her nobody ever came so my husband finally just went to the bar. Everything was overpriced. Kids menu had Mac n cheese for $9 (no fruit, no fries, no sides). We ordered calamari appetizer and it was so small that it was laughable. Went with a group of 7 for a late afternoon lunch/dinner. We picked Rum Runners because of the touristy vibe for the kids in the group. We are full time in CC but since these owners took over we stopped coming because it has changed to more of a tourist place. The food was just as good as it was so no complaints at all. What did bother me was the little things, charging and extra $.50 for BBQ sauce for a burger. They also do like most restaurants add the 20% tip to the bill for parties of 6 or more. I don't know if I read that on the menu but it is not stated on the on-line menu which the new law mandates. The server did tell us when he brought the check to the table so we were aware. They also add 3% to the check for using a credit card, again not sure I read that on the menu either, but checked on line and don't see it. I think again it has to be stated on the on-line menu as well. So food is good, drinks were good but vibe is more for tourists. read more

The service was really great, from the hostess to our server, really friendly, bubbly staff. The poke bowl was absolutely delicious, really recommend it. We were seated next to a loud, obnoxious man who was on a mission to get really drunk, we know this because he announced it to the whole restaurant. He definitely put a damper on our experience. Sometimes patrons need to be politely told to tone it down, even the risk of offending them, because they are definitely disturbing everyone around them. The restaurant was crowded as it was dinner time. The patrons were dressed in Florida casual. There is both inside and outside dinning with parking available nearby. We placed our orders and our food was delivered to our table within a reasonable amount of time. My sister had the short ribs and she said they were delicious. My niece had pasta with chicken which she thoroughly enjoyed. I had the Lobster Ravioli which I found to be adequate but not to die for ( my opinion ). After dinner we all ordered the same dessert, baked ice cream. Again , both my sister and niece loved it. I , on the other hand , just "liked it. " I must say , I had heard so many nice things said about Rumrunners that I was really looking forward to my visit. However , Rumrunners did not meet my level of expectations. The restaurant is nice and can accommodate a large amount of people. It just did not , in my opinion , warrant the hype that has been generated about the restaurant. Nevertheless, I will return. Next time I'll opt for outside dinning hoping that the view may entice and excite my taste buds to meet my level of expectations for the food and ambiance. Really hate to leave bad reviews, but must be honest. First time to Cape Coral and we are here for 10 days. We picked 10 restaurants to hit this week and Rumrunners was our second meal. I was pretty excited they offered prime rib on Sundays (only Sundays). Started with an old fashioned. I checked out the bar as we walked to our table and they had a good selection of additive free tequilas and bourbon. It's kinda hard to mess up an old fashioned, but it was horrible. Cruise ship old fashioned are better. Again, not sure how you mess up an old fashioned. Ordered the prime rib and added a dinner salad. They brought my steak and salad at the same time. Not ideal, but okay. The steak was one of the worst cut of beef I have ever had. On vacation and just sucked it up, but very disappointing to spend $155 and it be a bad meal. Maybe we just went on a bad night, the head chef was off, or maybe stick to seafood. On our recent work/vacation trip to the sunshine state we happened across Rumrunners one evening and were very pleasantly surprised! Great location with a couple of shops nearby to walk around at while waiting for the table if needed as well. To start the service was great, friendly staff paired with a nice laid back dining area made for an enjoyable spot to eat. I went with the Chicken Bacon Ranch Flatbread and it was soooooo good! The perfect blend of cheeses and tender chicken and crispy bacon was just heavenly. And all with perfectly crisp but airy flatbread I was wishing I had ordered two of these they were so good! Not really any ranch flavor that I noticed and there wasn't any ranch drizzled on top either, so not sure if it was just forgotten or not, but good nonetheless! My girlfriend opted for one of the pasta dishes which was pretty tasty as well (yes I snuck I bite of it as well lol). Other members of our party ordered a salad and the peel and eat shrimp. Great view with great food and service. We ate lunch on the water watching the beautiful boats with the sounds of live music in the background. They served brunch food as well as a lunch menu of favorite dishes such as seafood and burgers. I had the French toast which was great. Hubby had the peel and eat shrimp which he loved. DONT GO HERE! Had the worst experience there. We have been going here for like 15 years and never had a problem. I made a reservation online for 2 outside with my 87 year old mother. When we arrive the showed us to our table and then said "wait you can't sit at a Four top" then we had to walk back to hostess who said go to this table -NOPE we lied again ! I asked For manager- His name is Robert. A real piece of work. Told me a made a reservation to a hi top (I DID NOT.) google doesn't even allow it. Their system put us a a high top - which we never even brought to. When I tried to explain that all I got was interrupted and told it was my FAULT. It was NOT. Google reservations don't give you a table option. Plus we didnt even get option to sit at high top. I was told multiple times I did not understand and he was busy and couldn't help me. This went on for a good five minutes. I went back in and he was telling his underling that I don't understand. There were at least 10 empty tables and he would NOT seat us. We have been going forever and now will NEVRR GO again. Also will be calling manager and will be contact owner.
