This is my new favorite place! Inside is clean, tables not on top of each other , cute bar, it's deceiving looking from the outside. We had the ribeye and the chicken french. I got a cup of the French onion soup and it was hands down the best I have ever had. So flavorful with just the right amount of cheese. The Caesar salad was delicious. I got a loaded baked potato with my chicken. The potatoes were cooked perfectly. Our server was very attentive and pleasant. I got a cosmopolitan with my dinner and they nailed it! I've gone to so many places that don't know how to make a proper cosmopolitan but they do! I wish I would have taken pictures to post of our dinners but I'll do that next Friday when I go back! It's always a great dining experience here. read more

I'd been here before and remembered the mussels being good, so we went for date night last night to experience a full dinner. We ordered the rust belt martini and a seasonal mule. Both tasted like cough syrup. I then tried a basic gin martini - I wasn't even asked which gin I'd like. According to the bill, it was well gin, which would explain why it was meh. For food, I ordered the pistachio crusted salmon (a special). It was overcooked, dry, and bland. The only redeeming parts were the bread (delicious) and the mussel appetizer. Overall, $100 for mediocre at best. Service was slow, with many requests being given as the waitress was darting past our table. Not entirely her fault, she was taking care of half the restaurant. Save your money and go someplace else. read more

I was told you had to make a reservation to eat at this restaurant. My reservation was for 6:30 we didn't receive our food until till 8:00 pm. To get a glass of water took 25 minutes. The waitress was extremely rude and would slam our things down or run by and toss something on the table. After waiting 90 min for dinner, and never having a waitress refill your drinks or check on you, you would think the food would be amazing. Well it absolutely was not good at all. My chicken had not flavor and eventually made me extremely sick. I have never gotten sick from a restaurant before so it was alarming especially when my child also wasn't feeling well after eating. I would skip this please u less you are a glutton for punishment. read more

This review is purely coming from someone with a latex allergy so if you do not have latex allergy, it may not apply to you. I have been told the food is great. And the prices are good, but I do not get the opportunity to find out because it is not safe for anyone with latex allergy. They use latex gloves which contaminates the whole kitchen. This is not a reflection on the food or hospitality whatsoever, this is simply letting other people with latex allergy know that this is not the place for them. If you don't have the latex allergy, I would definitely recommend it. read more

The building is dated on the outside, but cozy on the inside. We had reservations at 6pm. Ended up getting there at 5:15 pm and they were very accomadating to seat us early even though it was a busy night. The staff was very pleasant and the food was great. Everyone in our party of 5 enjoyed their meal, not one complaint. We loved the warm freshly baked crusty bread and seasoned oil and appreciated the fresh salad that came with some entrees and soda refills. We are planning on coming back and would highly recommend it to anyone. read more

TRAGIC, that is all I can say. Well not really so let me continue.....my friends and I came here to celebrate a birthday with the hopes of a good meal from a locally owned, LGBT friendly establishment however our experience was anything but pleasant. It was a Friday night and the restaurant is sparsely populated however our table of 9 experienced an extremely long wait for our food, had it been busier I wouldn't have thought much of it. A few at our table ordered appetizers and while we waited they brought out bread. Sliced and served with oil and butter the bread was enjoyable which lead up hopes for a good meal. Once the appetizers finally arrived, mostly soups people worked through them accordingly however this was the start to a VERY LONG wait for the main course. One friends had to send back the first round of mussels due to the majority of them were NOT open!?!?! How does a cook or chef not take note of when the majority of the mussels haven't opened when a dish when is being plated!?!?!? I'm not sure if they were the Drunken or Savory however they appeared to be in a cream sauce but it could have been lemon and butter. The mussel I had was sweet for which the sauce, with just a touch of heat complimented nicely. With the main course taking forever to come to table there is the chance that some hanger kicked it however even if that was the case NO ONE enjoyed their meal for a variety of reasons. My main course was the Rust Belt Burger, an 8oz burger deceptively described as topped with shredded pork, bacon and cheddar cheese served on a kaiser roll. I had requested my burger be cooked medium well however upon it coming out it was prepared well, just under hockey puck. It may have been under the broiler for an unnecessarily long time as the cheese melted to the side to the point of black charcoal. I could barely make my way through this monstrosity before giving up. The rest of the table had a similar experience for different reasons either due to the flavor being just off or it was just not enjoyable. My friend that had onion rings with his fish fry was a tad disappointed with what he got, although they appear to be made in-house they are very thinly sliced and maybe use a panko bread crumb however they have no texture or substance to them, nothing like thd onion ring you would expect. Lastly for some reason the restaurant allowed a woman to enter, not a patron of the restaurant she came around to each table asking for diners to buy a bouquet of roses. WHAT IS THIS?!?!? I don't come to a restaurant to get approached by someone on the street to be solicited. Also from my observation our server was becoming more and more disgruntled with us for no reason. Even though we were not having a pleasant experience we never said anything negative to him and kept a pleasant demeanor however by the end he was practically pushing out the door. I have no plans of returning on purpose and it would take a massive amount of change to convince me. read more

I was so skeptical of this restaurant. I was intimidated by the exterior of the building and the location. We had a gift certificate so we thought "what the heck let's go." I'm so glad we did. The food was so good! We shared an order of wings to start. We tried a different sauce then we would normally get, but again we were glad we did! I got pecan encrusted pork chops which were something I've never seen on a menu. It was all so good and unexpected! I highly recommend stopping in. read more

It was excellent ! Started out with complimentary fresh hot out of the oven bread and kept getting better! The prime rib flat bread had a lot of shaved prime rib , bacon chunks, goat cheese caramelized onions and probably more stuff, then drizzled with BBQ sauce ! We didn't want to finish it all but couldn't stop! We couldn't decide what we wanted so we asked our waitress and she suggested her favorites and most popular items and we are very glad we listened! I had the blackened tuna. There was plenty of it. It was ahi tuna cooked to perfection, grill marked and rare on the inside, tender soft delicious. Even the rice with crispy ,snappy snow peas was great and normally I leave most of it but not here. It had onions more goat cheese, yummy. The wife had the panko crusted deep fried haddock stuffed with crab meat with real mashed potato. It too was a good portion and was very delicious ( we switched plate half way through so neither would miss out, we usually do that, it like getting two meal for half the Calories!) The crab was just meat no fillers ! The service was very good and helpful at a relaxed pace. It was a slow Wednesday evening so there was no rush. The prices were great for the portion sizes and the excellent flavor! The tuna was a steal at $20. I've paid $30 to $40 for the smaller portions at fancy places. I plan to return. When you drive by it is a simple old tavern in a not so great area but look past that and go in, your taste buds will thank you read more

The food was hot and the portions large. Our server was very pleasant. It is very dated inside but everything else makes up for that.

We loved our meals so much, if I could have given 6 stars, I would. We had been to Rust Belt a few times some years ago for buffet fundraisers for Ten Lives Club, with a nominal charge. The food they put out for the buffets was always of good quality, but still buffet food. Rust Belt is a bit out the way for us, so not somewhere we'd usually think of going without a reason to go. Ten Lives Club once again had a fundraiser here. But this time, no buffet deal, order from the menu. We chose Garlic Parm Chicken Fingers, plus a $2 upgrade from fries to onion rings. Also the Shaved Prime Rib Flat Bread. It was all superb! The rings were finely breaded, the right amount of greasy and crispy, and the onions cooked through so that you could actually bite the ring without the entire onion sliding out. The Fingers were handmade, not the usual prepackaged. 3 to an order instead of the usual 4 or 5. But still good sized, and the quality made up for the quantity. Didn't have to have leftovers. Highly garlic flavored, fresh parm and butter. (Also available as a wing flavor.) The shaved steak flatbread, was also delicious. The cheese on the flatbread was the major flavor, but all the other flavors and textures were evident. The amount of steak was generous. These options may not be for everyone, if you like your food on the more mild side. But for those who love strong flavors, it was heaven! All the food on other tables looked equally delicious. Service was attentive. Food was prepared within the usual, expected time period. Was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. If I have to have a minor criticism: The unsweetened iced tea needed to be stronger. Probably not even worth mentioning, and really the reason I just usually order water. Can't depend on the strength of the tea anywhere. read more

I almost hate to write this review because this little gem is going to be a busy place. Just off Route 5 after the Ford plant on the right (headed south). Food is fantastic. I don't drink so, but bar looks fun and drinks looked good. I've had only a handful of things from the menu but everything is delish. Takes a little time to get food but everything down to the salad dressings are homemade. And I don't mind waiting for excellent food. Fish fry had a crispy crispy batter. I heard the crunch from across the table. 10/10. The ahi tuna appetizer and dinner are amazing. Fresh and cooked perfectly. If ordering the ahi dinner ask for the accompaniments the appetizer comes with (ginger, soy sauce and the best wasabi)! Onion soup is on point. This is my new favorite joint! 5/5 would recommend everything about this place. I had the inferno chicken and it was DELICIOUS. The bartender Adonis was awesome and friendly. We traveled from Colorado and I will make it a point to visit Rust Belt every time we visit. Thank you! read more

OMG our first time here and we will be back. A hidden gem on Lake Shore Road. We started with the homemade chips and onion soup = both were hot and delicious. Let's not forget the warm bread (right out of the oven) with the amazing dipping sauce. I had the Scallops Brushchetta (enough for an army) and my husband had the fish fry (also huge). I tried the Slap Martini and my husband had a Barcardi & Coke = both of good quality. I had the Pistachio Cake and my husband had the Coconut Cream Pie. Portions were large, moist and delicious. The bill was only $100. for everything we had to eat and drink = quite a bargain at this day & age. So glad it was recommended to us by family & friends. It is not to be missed. Can't wait to go back and bring more family & friends. Props to our waitress, Kelsey, she's been there ten years and really knows her way around the menu (food & cocktails). Check with her for feedback. Her recommendations were spot on! read more

I wish I could add a half star to this review because the only complaint I have is that this place isn't more RUSTic than their name may assume. I lived down the street for almost four years From this place and finally decided to try it out.I only bought chicken wings but I know my chicken wings and they have some good ones. I asked the bartender for a martini and was presently surprised. It's a casual/upscale atmosphere and good food at the dead end of a industrial street. What more could you ask for? read more

My boyfriend and I decided to try this place after being recommended by his family. We started with the Calamari, which came with a lot! We also had the french onion soup, in my opinion it wasn't the best, a lot of onions but not enough cheese. We decided to order the Lobster Mac n Cheese and the Fish Fry. The fish fry was awesome!! The mac n cheese on the other hand was just ok. Will definitely be back for the fish fry and to try the daily specials! read more

Was somewhat hesitant to come here from some of the reviews but figured everyone has an off day at times so let's give it a chance. Don't let the exterior fool you because the interior has all been remodel quite nicely. They have 2 bars, one in front and one inside rear entrance to dinning room. The menu is quite varied and they have different specials throughout the week. We shared the prime rib flatbread pizza, it had goat cheese, caramelized onions, bacon and a balsamic drizzle. What a pleasant surprise! It disappeared in no time! Bread was served hot and crispy with dipping oil. My companion had the ahi tuna - seared perfectly while rare most of the way through served on an awesome Asian rice with goat cheese and pea pods. I choose the crab stuffed haddock - pinko crusted and fried to perfection- with a lemon sauce. It was served with smashed potatoes and snap peas. The fish was very most and flavorful, crust crunchy and was loaded with all crabmeat. Both dinners were excellent and came with a very flavorful side salad. Moral of story, don't judge a book by its cover! I definitely will return to try some of the other interesting offers on their menu. read more

We chose this restaurant that I'd never been to based on taking reservations and having seafood. Went for my boyfriend's birthday with his parents. It says on yelp they do not have outdoor seating, but they do. We sat outside and had drinks (6$ house wine and bottled beer - not too many beer choices but they have the basics). They served bread with oil which I love. My bf ordered the mixed seafood pasta - he was in love. He couldn't stop talking about the ratio of seafood to pasta. I tried the sauce, delicious. I had a greek salad with chicken and the homemade dressing was wonderful. The server was on point, not too extra, very attentive. The location can leave you wondering if it's legit, but it is. I'd definitely go back. read more

Being from the southtowns.... I'm surprised we have never tried this place. I thought let's try something new. It's a Thursday evening, we walk in. ... and the hostess asks us if we have s reservation. We were a bit surprised- I didnt realize this place was upscale - thought it was more casual. We said no - and she was acting as if they probably couldn't fit us in. I'm like really-? The restaurant had maybe 3 tables of people in it. She runs around the restaurant then comes back and asks us if we are ok with sitting at a table in the middle of the room because thats all that was available .We said that's totally fine. (empty tables everywhere and when we left an hour and a half later- they STILL weren't filled) so was that an act ?? Kinda strange.... I doubt there were that many reservations that didnt show up. Kinda irritating.... Anyways - onto the food. It was excellent . I got a lemon drop martini (made perfect) at only $8 . My dining partner got a rib eye and I got the inferno chicken. Rib eye review -excellent. Chicken inferno was supposed to have a stuffed hot pepper on top. The pepper was so small and flat it literally didnt even look like there was one on there. (see pic) I had to inspect it with my magnifying glass to discover there WAS indeed a pepper on it. I was a bit disappointed- chicken portion was small and I had envisioned a big stuffed pepper on top. Stuffed hot pepper soup was FANTASTIC. One of the best soups I ever had. Salad was ok. I like romaine anc iceberg. This one was all leafs like my bunny eats. Just not my thing. Fresh bread was excellent. Piping hot to the point where we couldn't even touch it. Our server was awesome and very attentive - and she was in charge of 4 tables. I would definitely go here again. Overall very good experience. Just make your chicken portions larger !! read more

Very good food and service! Fist fry is delicious! Recommend this hidden gem, give them a try!

went here on a Tuesday night there was 4 of us. We were seated right away and sat there for ten minutes no one came over to get our drink order(one of my biggest pet peeves) its not that hard to come over and greet guest. Finally the host who seated us came by and took our drink order and brought our drinks. another ten minutes or so go by before our waitress comes by to take our order. We were all ready because we seen how this was going already. at this point we have been here 20 minutes or so. they seat a table next to us. The soup and salads come out in a timely matter and were good. This is where the wait begins we wait and wait and wait. The table that was seated 20 minutes after us gets there dinner still nothing on ours. Waitress comes by and says it will be out in a minute 15 minutes later the table behind us is now done eating and we still don't have food. At this point the cook comes out of the kitchen and starts talking to hugging and kissing the people at another table in front of us( I remind you we still don't have our dinners). Finally after over an hour and the table that came in 20 minutes after us is paying there bill we get our dinner. The reason for 2 stars is that the food was excellent. But over a hour to get food is completely unacceptable. You should probably keep your cooks in the kitchen till all the food is served. This was a Tuesday night and the place was about 1/4 full. The food was good but I will never return again. I don't recommend you go there unless you are not that hungry and have 3 hours to kill. read more

Great food at good prices. Never disappointed by the food. Specials during the week make the adventure even better.

Rustic local joint with old school wood floors, inviting atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent down home cookin'. It was a dark and stormy night...8-10 inches of snow and still falling. Most people staying home tonite. I grew up here with many many years of coping with snow. I'm back for a few days visiting my mother for her 95th birthday. By God, we're going out. Parking lot full of snow with a young man doing his futile best with a shovel to clear paths. We asked about a wheelchair ramp. He directed us, shoveled the area and guided us backing in. He & the owner/manager assisted us in navigating the steep ramp and escorting us to a table. I love this place already. Food is outstanding: cheese stuffed banana peppers, onion soup, great mixed greens dinner salads with a bevy of house made dressings, succulent corned beef & cabbage with boiled taters, nicely cooked medium liver & onions, very good meatloaf and a creamy cheesy mac & cheese pasta. All large portions. Wines are inexpensive with reasonable quality. Peanut butter pie and chocolate hazelnut pie we're both huge & very tasty (homemade). Our server was attentive, pleasant and efficient. read more

We went for $10 Tuesdays and were pleasantly surprised. One of us got the pork chops and the other chicken parm. The chcken parm was a standard size serving you would find at any Italian Restaurant. The pork chops were huge!!! (I took one and a half home for leftovers.) Our only complaints with the food was that the pork chops could have been cooked and seasoned just a bit more. The service/kitchen is a bit slow leading to long wait times. The bread and dipping sauce help to alleviate a bit of that. We received our salads timely but had to wait 25-30 minutes for our entrees. We would definitely go back now that we know to prepare to have a bit of a wait. When you hear a restaurant advertise $10 entrees you tend to expect a smaller helping, etc. or very few choices. This truly was not the case. read more

I have been here 4 times now and have had a consistent and unfortunate experience. Despite the day, time, business, and number of people in my party the wait time for waiters/food has been COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. Today, knowing wait times here are long, we rushed to be sure everyone knew their order right way to get things moving. It took more than 20min until our main course order was taken. Between that and receiving out main course it took 1.5 HOURS. Overall it took 2.5 hours between sitting down and walking out, despite trying to go as fast as possible. The food was cold. Waiter, unapologetic... He had told us it wold be 5 more min and it took 30 more at one point. The restaurant was not particularly busy. For food. The stuffed peppers were actually really good, as was the Mac n cheese. But most of our orders must had been sitting under the heat lamp for an hour. The manager insisted our wait time was a fluke, however we are 4 for 4 with 2hr+ dining times. Each time we had agreed not to come back (as I'm sure many customers have) and had eventually forgotten the negative experience. I can say more certainly now, we won't be coming back any time soon. read more

Great little known Buffalo Gem! Am never disappointed when I visit this place, whether for 1/2 price apps at bar seating, or pleasing sit down lunch or dinner. Menu is diverse (from apps to dinners the choices run through seafood, pasta, poultry, beef/pork choices) to cater to any palate and they deliver down to the most minute detail! Most recently I visited as party of 4 ranging in ages 18-50. Shared apps of Truffle Chips & Cajun mussels which we went through 2 loaves of bread soaking up the incredible sauce! The hot pepper soup served with entrees found its way around our table as well (& inspired an order to go). Entrees were shared: Stuffed Haddock, Pulled Pork Mac n Cheese, Peach Pork Chops and Steak Sandwich. 2 generations at our table agreeing they couldn't choose a favorite since each bite was better than the last (until revisiting the first bite...then the best bite was replaced once again!) Sides of fresh seasonal vegetables & wonderfully crisp sweet potato fries (I had come to accept sweet potato fries were always served mildly soggy from ordering elsewhere - won't make that mistake again!!) mashed potatoes were delicately seasoned with herbs. Across & down the road from the Ford Plant, Rust Belt is off the beaten path (like hidden gem Mulberry). This results in prompt seating and intimate service (the proprietors are clearly grateful for opportunity to provide excellent food and service and visit table to introduce and offer suggestions).
