Service was amazing! Our waiter was very Patient and polite, even recommended a certain wine to try. Food came out quick and hot! Steak was amazing, very juicy not dry at all. Big portions!

I mean yes the steak was good. The garlic mashed potatoes were, I'm positive, instant potatoes. We had a 430 reservation and I thought the happy hour menu said 4 for opening time. My family and I entered the restaurant and were rudely told by the bartender they don't open until 430. If that's the case lock the door. The service was fantastic Trey ensured our table was cleaned and beverages full. Chris was very knowledgeable about the food. All in all I feel supporting a local steakhouse downtown may result in a better experience and non instant potatoes.

I have always wanted to eat at a Ruth's Chris restaurant but never got the opportunity. Last year when I was in the Grand Rapids area we tried doing a walk in! Not happening! From what I understand they get booked up weeks in advance. So this year we booked the reservation about a month in advance. Starting with the hostess - sweet , friendly and prompt professional service. Next on to our amazing waitress Autumn! Seriously had to be one of the best waiter or waitress I've ever had. She was attentive to our needs without interrupting or smothering us. She asked if we were celebrating any special occasion, which we were not, other than being in town to watch Bullriding at the Van Andel Arena. Autumn went through the menu for us and let us know what her favorites were. The meal starts with their warm mini loaf of bread with awesome soft butter. It was so good that she had to bring us a second loaf while we were there, and she sent another loaf home in my leftover bag. I ordered the Sea Bass on spinach and my friend ordered the stuffed chicken. We also got a side of the Crimini Mushrooms and she explained that it comes in a veal sauce and since I don't eat red meat she said we could substitute olive oil for it. My friend ordered the stuffed chicken that had garlic, stuffing and Parmesan. Not sure exactly what it all was - but it was over the top delicious. We were too stuffed for dessert, but she brought us a free dessert that looked like it's given to people who are celebrating a special occasion. It was a small chocolate mousse and a small bowl of fruits in a cream sauce. Yummy for both!!! All in all - expensive but amazing experience and totally worth it. My portion of sea bass was huge and it was cooked perfectly. I tried really hard to finish all of it, but ended up taking probably half back to the room.

We came here for our first anniversary and wow it didn't disappoint! You do have to pay a 40$ deposit to make a reservation but once we checked in, they refunded us the 40$ automatically. The prices are listed on the menu (and it's expensive , as you'd expect). The atmosphere is cozy and the wait staff was great. Our food was INCREDIBLE. We had heard amazing things but the food really was amazing. I also got an Apple cider cinnamon sangria (it was like 18$) but it was quite delicious. The steaks don't come with sides (you need to order and buy additional items) but you do get warm bread and butter. We enjoyed the additional 20$ lobster tail side. Yum yum yum. Our waiter recommended us coming back each year for our anniversary and we just might! They also had a nice little dish to celebrate our anniversary (that was demolished). Definitely recommend (and go in knowing it's very expensive but still enjoy the experience).

My husband wanted to take me to W for my birthday dinner, but it was too crowded. So, we went to a steakhouse instead. Luckily, there were still seats available since we didn't make a reservation. The establishment exuded a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere. Our server, Michael, warmly welcomed us and promptly provided us with refreshing beverages. He proceeded to meticulously detail the various courses, including the restaurant's specialties. Michael displayed exceptional politeness, friendliness, and expertise in his role. He consistently ensured that we were attended to and promptly addressed any of our needs. We started with calamari as an appetizer, followed by a steak salad , a porter house meant to serve two individuals, along with sweet wine. The quality of the food, ranging from the bread to the steak, was exceptional. The service provided to us was of the highest standard. Upon completing our meal, we were graciously offered a dessert; however, we declined as we were too full. Much to our surprise, they presented me with a delightful chocolate moose accompanied by fresh fruit in celebration of my birthday. This gesture truly touched me. Overall, our experience was thoroughly enjoyable and we intend to return in the future, accompanied by our family. Thank you very much! Your establishment made my birthday celebration exceptionally memorable.

Ruth Chris has such a cool dimly lit kind of vibe. Light jazz in the back as I enjoyed a pomegranate smash cocktail. The lamb chops were my second dinner option. Delicious flavor but too much food for me. Service was incredible. The kitchen added graham cracker crumbles to the berries and cream and it was heaven. Will be back.

Amazing ! The seafood tower was delicious !!!! Service was great, and food was quick! Josh had the misfortune of being our server but he took it all in stride of us being a bit silly and loud !

Just stopped in for a couple of drinks before dinner on a busy night! The drinks were pretty good and the waitress was attention and friendly. Dim lighting and a cozy feel. We were seated quickly and were able to relax for a while before heading out!

Ruth's Chris is one of those chains that are super consistent. Nice hot bread and good butter. We we're too hungry coming off eating on the plane, so we decided to share a few items. We started off with Ruth's Chop Salad, which was delightful. Julienne iceberg lettuce, baby spinach and radicchio were the main veg. It also had some red onions, mushrooms, and green olives. I loved the bacon, eggs, croutons, and bleu cheese dressing. Probably the best part is the topping of crispy onions. It's rare to see escargot on a menu, so we ordered the app. They were not the biggest I've had, but they were covered in garlic butter and delicious. I recommend dipping some bread in there. So good! Our main was the Porterhouse. What can I say? NY Strip and Filet Mignon nice and juicy on T-shaped bone! We had it cut and it was on a classic sizzling hot plate. Don't touch the plate to check. Ask me how I know.

Fries and brussels were delicious, but the lobster mac is overrated (bland) and our steaks were mediocre. Both were slightly overcooked (not a dealbreaker, but for $85/each I'd expect better). Add in the fact that they just drown them in butter and salt to hide the poor cooking (somehow, very little sear and barely any grill marks on one of the two steaks). Service was excellent - I'll give it that, but it was a little slow at the end once our meal had concluded to get us packed up / being a check. Atmosphere - it feels upscale, but that's just because of the prices and menu selection / options. Food came out quickly, portions were good for the price. They also validate parking for the lot just behind their building (street parking is tight / limited). Unfortunately, it's unlikely that we'd come back. The cocktails and refills took QUITE a long time, but once they did arrive we really loved the French75 & the espresso martinis. All appetizers were good: the truffle fries, oysters, and escargot. The biggest bummer of the night was that all three of us ordered filets and all 3 of them were cooked incorrectly. (I've attached a photo of my "medium" steak with bleu cheese crumbles.) We mentioned this to the waiter but nothing was done about it. I ended up scraping the bleu cheese off and trading steaks with my husband to get closer to the temperatures we ordered. They did taste good, and we enjoyed the spinach and au gratin potatoes as well. Overall, I'd choose Ruth's Chris over Bowdies any day. Ruth's steaks are always perfect, their fresh bread is delicious, and they have more options on their menu for the same pricing as Bowdies.

We had a stroller with us and the staff were able to accommodate our seating with room for the stroller. Each meal was throughly enjoyed and finished completely! We can't wait to return for another meal! Food: The scallops with pomegranates were cooked to perfection. Taste was incredible! Beef tartare was exceptional and full of flavor.

Carvers must be doing something right. Carvers has an actual kids menu. I don't think any other food stall in the market has a kids menu, so that's a bonus. The kids' menu includes the standard kid fare: chicken tenders, grilled cheese, a hot dog, a cheeseburger. That was enough variety for my children, who picked a grilled cheese and cheeseburger. All of the kids' meals are served with fries. We also got steak fries, which I was told were "very good." OK! The steak fries were what you'd imagine them to be: fries topped with chopped pieces of steak, topped with white cheese sauce. I was impressed by Carvers ready-to-eat offerings in their refrigerated case. They had stuffed baked potatoes, ready-to-grill asparagus, cole slaw, egg rolls, and even elote salad (which is labeled as street corn salad). Lots of delicious-looking foods ready to take with you.

There is a lot of foot-traffic in the market, but ordering has never been difficult and the service is typically decent. Over the years, I've been back to Carver's multiple times and they have upped their game since my first visit. The burgers have been great and the fries are particularly good. Their menu changes with their inventory, but there are always burgers and good sandwiches. The French Dip, Pulled Pork and Reubens have been standouts. This is now my go-to for lunch when the family stops at the Downtown Market.

Conversation with the staff comes so easily. And the food and drink are always delicious. Over the course of the night, we enjoyed the Seafood Cake Duet as our appetizer. Between the two cakes, the shrimp and lobster was definitely our favorite. The cocktails included the 60 Ottawa Old Fashioned, the Femme Fatale and the Cast Away. The old-fashioned was perfectly balanced. My wife loved the other two cocktails, especially the Cast Away. That one in particular was dangerously smooth. It wasn't my first time having the Halibut "oscar style", but I'm a creature of habit and it's hard to pass up. It always tastes fresh, is a milder fish and paired well on the plate with a nicely seasoned rice blend, asparagus and covered in a delightful bearnaise sauce. The wife had the Kvaroy Salmon which she very much enjoyed, but didn't come close to finishing. The brussel sprouts were cooked just right and the balsamic reduction wasn't overpowering, but instead just that right amount of savory. Leo's seems to change up their desserts fairly often, but frequently offer a crème brûlée. We opted for the vanilla bean this time and in hindsight, wish we would've each ordered our own instead of sharing.
