So loud. Was very hard to talk to my partner sitting across the table from me because neither of us could hear each other well. Maybe a different area within the restaurant might be better? Perhaps it was that we were tucked away towards the left corner and noise just carried into the area - no idea. But for me it was less enjoyable as I didn't feel relaxed or able to talk to my partner. Mango sakenori cocktail is okay. Really it tastes good, very mango-y but I'm not feeling like it's worth $12. I guess if returning I probably wouldn't go with a cocktail again. Maybe try their sake or just have water or a light beer like Sapporo. Our Edamame was extremely salty. Veggie sushi roll, good, but fell apart while eating it so not a very tight roll. I think I'd prefer to eat rolls at the nearby sushi spots I've tried in the past before ever getting them here again. I do understand that sushi is not their primary focus here so maybe I should have known I wouldn't be impressed. Seafood Lover was a good amount of food and could be shared. The staff was super friendly and checked on us often while also letting us enjoy our visit. The food was delicous. I ordered the duck curry and it was to die for. I did find a small chunk of bone in the duck meat that threw me off, that being said props to the chef for having knives sharp enough to cut through bone without noticing. Let me first say that the food here is amazing . I come here at least twice per month and I don't even gamble! I literally come to the casino for this restaurant. However, the service was extremely poor on this visit. Let's start by saying that I've never had bad service here until today. We sat at the bar that was clean and not too busy, there was a shift change but the host at the podium told us this in advance. Once we took our seats we were greeted with a food menu and was told we would be seen In a minute. No drink menu. I asked a member of the staff who wasn't our server for a drink menu. She gave it to us and asked for our drinks right away . We waited to place our drinks with our server . When our server finally came we placed our drinks and I asked for veggie chips and sauce along with our drinks. He only came back with our drinks and took our food order . Our food came fast , but we didn't get our chips . The entire time we were eating our server never came back and asked if everything was ok . We didn't receive any warm towels , offer to get extra drinks or an empty plate for my lobster shells . Then to add an extra layer of bad service, the lady who was next to us was giving the staff a hard time about her fire card point and trying to use someone's Points who wasn't even there . They paid more attention to the customer who Was trying her hardest to not pay for a full bill and being very rude than the customers who were paying in full who were pleasant and only asked for good service. I asked for the check cause atp I was over the service and was ready to leave. Zack was more concerned about everything else than cashing us out . I asked a completely different server to finish assisting us cause he was clearly too busy to take care of us . Alexis took care of us , and she did great . I was very greatful that she stepped in I gave her a 28% tip for her service. She was nice and was working hard with the customers she already had . For her to stop And assist us was a save ! The restaurant has a nice ambience and an option for table dining or counter dining if you like to watch the chefs cook. I was in a party of four so we decided for a table. The decor is nice and the host and servers are very nice. Service was for the most part on par. Now, the food. I appreciate the attempt, but I wouldn't consider the dish I ordered, Kung Pao Shrimp, to resemble anything of a traditional Kung Pao sauce. The sauce was more like a szechuan brown sauce. There was plenty of vegetables in the Kung Pao dish and they did give a good portion of shrimp as well. Overall - the dish was just OK at best. While it was some kind of a Chinese dish, if you're craving Kung Pao, it's not going to be the Kung Pao you think it is. read more

I honestly hate to change a rating this dramatically. I have tried a couple of times before writing this update and this is not the same place when it reopened. The menu shrunk like many places which is not bad - limited menus make typically for better service and cost conservation for the restaurant. I was not really hungry so I got what used to be one of the best egg drop soups in the area along with the potstickers. After I placed the order I realized they never asked me if I wanted the potstickers steamed or pan-fried. I quickly got the order changed to pan-fried. I watched after the kitchen filled all of the to-go orders way before they took care of the people dining in. I waited over 40 minutes for the food which honestly wasn't good. The egg drop soup consistency was way off. It was almost chunky with egg and lacked flavor. I didn't finish the soup and nobody even asked me if there was an issue. The potstickers were fried but they lacked flavor just like the soup. The dipping sauce was needed to make them taste okay. The to-go menu is VERY limited and if you want to order from the regular menu and take out they upcharge 15%. The new to-go application is way too limited but on the plus side they will get you your food way before people dining in at the restaurant. This was one of the best restaurants for Chinese in the city but it is no longer. Hopefully they take the feedback and get back to the amazing restaurant it was a couple of years ago. read more

On my last visit, I sat at the bar and still received poor service. The two women on my right were upset that they waited 30 minutes without realizing it for a box and a gentleman to the left ordered an appetizer and drink. He received the drink and waited 25 mins for potstickers, but requested the manager and asked to pay for the drink so he could leave due to the wait time. It was ironic to have poor service when all the staff were in the bar area, though they were huddled there to sort out food that had been sitting a while as they confused which entrees go to which tables. I've never eaten at a restaurant inside a Casino before but RuYi surely did not disappoint for my first time! Depending on how busy the casino is, there is usually a line with a wait time but we did not have to wait long since it was a Tuesday evening. The ambiance of the restaurant is modern yet traditional and our waitress was very kind and attentive. I ordered the cashew stir fry which is a perfect option for vegetarians. It was extremely flavorful and hearty. My grandma ordered the sweet and sour chicken which was delicious. My mother ordered the kung pow chicken which was also great but on the spicier side. Our food came out fast and there are many options on the menu. I have had the shrimp fried rice before and definitely recommend that to anyone who is picky or not sure of what to order. I haven't been to any of the other restaurants in Potawatomi but i would highly recommend this one to anyone coming here to play! Have been here a number of times and always have a pretty good experience. Ruyi is a beautiful space inside Potawatomi, and the staff work hard to accommodate the constant flow of patrons. The food here is delicious, with the Chicken Fried Rice being large enough for two people to share. Their take on Egg Drop soup with fried wonton on top is interesting, and while the soup is good, I personally find the wonton unnecessary and distracting. There are a few good restaurants inside Potawatomi, and Ruyi is definitely a great addition worth checking out. read more

Decided on taking food home instead. Basil grapefruit margarita that I ordered while waiting for my takeout was amazing. Also plenty of sake options and other drinks that are super delicious and well-thought-out. Love the crab rangoon here and also the sweet and sour soup. Cantonese Trio is dynamite and I love the beef and broccoli dish. Pho here is not good. I wouldn't recommend ordering it unless you plan on being extremely disappointed. There is probably something for everyone-type of restaurant. We were very, very hungry and craving noodles and rice. Milwaukee for a week and we started missing home. Everything we ordered was pretty good. I enjoyed all the flavors of the dishes except for the eggplant; it was too sweet for my taste but maybe after eating so many dishes, it was too much for my palette. My favorite of all the dishes we had ordered were the Thai spicy wings and bbq pork fried rice. The wings were very crispy, not too salty, and extremely juicy (like, really juicy and not that juicy because it's oily) a great experience and we won a bit of money at the casino as well! Say hello to my $20 meal; this is my orange chicken that I ordered for $15, on a side note, the sesame seeds are usually on there as a part of it, so don't get confused like I did. Anything extra, even if you order one "side," is also an additional five dollars (see "side" of broccoli as pictured). I called up ahead of time to see if I could order on the phone for takeout; they told me that I had to come in person. Which didn't make sense, because I saw another person coming and going before me. There is a "to go" check out register, right when you get off the escalator; it would only make sense to have this as an option. Anyway, As you can see, this is a waste of time and money, much like its counterpart Potawatomi. The old Buffet area has been converted to a RuYi and Fire Pit combo to-go service or pick-up and dine-in this large area. While the long lines were worth the wait, you no longer have to stand around in the lobby. My parents and I recently had an early dinner/late lunch here. Note - this restaurant in in the casino, so you do have to walk through some lively action and some smoking areas to get here. However, a lot of the casino noise is muted once you get inside. I tried the fried noodle dish with vegetables and tofu. It was very good and I finished it off I also had a specialty drink - an old-fashioned made with Japanese whiskey that I enjoyed very much. My mom's noodle dish was also excellent, as was her drink. My dad had spicy noodles with beef and his was really good with a nic spice level. It paired well with a beer. Service was friendly and efficient. Came out hot with great sauces on the side. For the entrees, we had chicken broccoli and General Tso. The General Tso always has more flavor but I can never get away from the chicken broccoli. I like the space here; it is a respite/an oasis away from the casino action.... without leaving the casino floor. First time here today, for lunch. I sat at the bar/counter, facing the open kitchen. I noticed they have a small (full) bar set up here and two TV's. Might be a cool place just to get off the casino floor for a break and a cocktail. I ordered (chicken) Pad Tai, spicy, "please." On arrival, I immediately noticed that two of the main ingredients were completely missing from the plate; i.e., bean sprouts and green onions. I said something and they took it away, poste haste. On the next try, I actually saw a couple of shards of green onion and a bit of bean sprout. I was disappointed. Having said that, I did enjoy the dish and ate most of it, though there was little or no "spicy" in the plate, whatsoever. I asked for some chili paste; a common condiment at any Chinese restaurant. I was informed they actually don't have Chinese chili paste, but offered me a small plastic "cup-let" of Siracha sauce, which I accepted. I'll be back to try something else. Really disappointed with my experience here. The food is barely better than what you would find on the Buffet. My wife ordered the Korean spicy noodles. The noodles were mushy and way overcooked. DON'T order the Bulgogi! It was not Bulgogi in any sense of the word other than it was meat. The marinade was atrocious and nothing but soy sauce. As a person of Korean descent I'm actually OFFENDED that they would try to pass that off as Bulgogi. They offered to replace with something else but the manager came over and made it clear she thought I was trying to be difficult and even though the fried rice they were replacing my order with was cheaper they would charge me the price of the original order which was much more expensive. The waiter said he had brought the manager to make things better and I informed him she actually hurt him with her self righteous attitude. Oh and NOW while I'm still here they are trying to charge me for BOTH plates even though they took the first away. Absolutely ridiculous! So I told them to take the rice away and apparently I'm paying for a meal I didn't even eat. What a JOKE. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of our dinner at RuYi. I really wasn't expecting much from a restaurant located inside the casino but RuYi is "Three-Star A-OK." We started our meal with a fresh spring roll and a sushi tasting flight. The tasty spring roll was plump and filled with all the traditional ingredients. The "out of the jar" dipping sauces were adequate. Technically speaking, the "sushi tasting flight" was not sushi because it was not the traditional formation of seasoned rice and raw fish. And it wasn't really sashimi either because the seafoods (scallops, tuna, salmon and yellow tail) were diced instead of sliced, I.e., more like a tartare or ceviche than a traditional sashimi. But the seafood was fresh and nicely seasoned. For our entrees we ordered Korean wok noodles with shrimp and Chow Fun with vegetables. The portions were ample. You could taste the char on the grilled veggies. The plethora of shrimp justified the $2 up charge for shrimp or seafood. Everything was properly seasoned. All in all our dining experience was fine. But that said, I would not make a special trip to eat here. If you happen to be staying at the hotel (like we were) or are visiting the casino for an evening of gaming RuYi would be a fine choice for dinner. Otherwise I'd look elsewhere to avoid the persistent background din of the slot machines and the whiff of smoky air from the adjacent gaming rooms. read more
