My supervisor is in love with this place, which was the impetus for going here in the first place. This is definitely a local coffee spot with artsy posters, free wifi, and coffee a-brewing. Staff was attentive to my myriad questions, as this was my inaugural trip to Ryan Bros. Ended up purchasing the San Diego Sunrise fresh-ground coffee and was pleasantly please to receive a free hot coffee (also San Diego Sunrise)! If you're looking for a sure-fire people pleaser, go with the San Diego Sunrise because it is their most mild flavor. I found this place on yelp and thought I'd give it a whirl. I got an iced caramel drop. I didn't care for the drink at all. Even after the barista added two additional shots of espresso, I could taste the sweetener (which I thought had that chemically artificial taste). I personally like to taste more coffee/espresso. The espresso itself may have been weak or the sweeteners used are just not my favorite, not sure which, but I most likely will not return. My wife and I stopped by on Sunday before the Holiday parade. We were impressed with the varieties of blended iced coffees, hot coffees, smoothies and teas. What can I say...I love Ryan Bros Coffee. We order for our work all time and I go in with my family all the time. The service is usually on point. I also enjoy the breakfast and lunch sandwiches. I don't like the avocado mush they put on them so I always ask with no avocado but I like the jalapeno cream cheese. I use the Perka Rewards mobile App and stack up my free drinks. My favorite is the ice vanilla late, and all the hot lattes are great! My mom who only orders cappuccino loves her small cap from Ryan's. My daughter always get the Chai Latte frappe with no tea (caffeine) and my son enjoys his chocolate milk or hot chocolate. What can I say? We are loyal customers!!! read more

This place absolutely rocks. The staff will make you coffee and make you laugh too. I'll go out of my way for great coffee, and this is great coffee, but it's Barbara and Daphne that really bring me back. Look at it this way: there have been times I have gone in to get a drink not so much because I really needed coffee, but more because I hadn't been there in awhile, and I missed those two. That might sound corny, but it means a lot to me! Look, there have been plenty of times I have gone to a place that got a good review on Yelp, and thought "meh, it's ok I guess". stopped in with the Ladyfriend for a little pick-me-up after our huge lunch due to her request. it's funny cuz as much a part of my mornings as coffee plays, i've never actually visited this or any other Ryan Bros locations, but i was pleasantly surprised. aside from the coffees and loose leaf teas they also have tropical smoothies. aside from the staple caffeine drinks like iced coffees or mochas they also have a different assortment of flavors for your drink of choice. i played it safe and boring as i almost always do with the vanilla iced coffee and she got the chai latte, both of which were tasty. i hope they start to have more people working since traffic started to pick up when we got there and there were only about 2 people working, so it took a little time for us to get our drinks, but no matter, we were enjoying the day and the conversation. -civilities. read more

I ordered 3 cambros for an event and they had no problem filing my order. Price was extremely reasonable! And to my surprise they provided me with cups, stirrers, half and half, and 3 types of sugar/sweetners. It was so nice to not have to purchase all the extra stuff and get everything I needed at one place. An additional thank you to the adorable young man who carried everything to my car and helped me load it all in, much appreciated! I love this place, best authentic coffee shop around. And they have more then just coffee. They have many different ice tea blends that give you energy and that have unique flavors like green apple and pomegranite. They also have lots of different types of Roobois teas. Service is extra friendly, and I love the setting there. You can sit outside in the shade, read your book and listen to the fountain as it cascades in the sunlight. It's a recently-opened coffee house and I hope it's here to stay. The staff was helpful and nice, the place small, but who wants a huge coffee place? They're pretty awesome, i love their coffee, it's relatively alot cheaper than starbucks and 5x the better. Hours are not as currently listed here. They close at 7 on Sundays, 9 on Saturdays, and 8 the rest of the week. I'm a late night guy, so this doesn't work that well for me. Surprising since it's just down the street from Palomar College. The hot mocha I had was average or slightly below. Huge windows and lots of light, which is nice. Atmosphere is small chain corporate, and only about half the seating is near electrical outlets. Decent service. Plenty of parking. Very convenient access from the 78 freeway. All things considered, Old California Coffee Company is where I'll continue to go when in the area. read more
