We have only been to this coffee shop one time because we typically make coffee at home. However, the one instance that we did get our morning coffee here was very pleasant. The space is rather small, but cozy. The menu is clear and offers man options. The staff was very nice, and when asked about suggested flavors of coffee was very knowledgeable. Best coffee in the local area, but it depends who makes it. One cup doesn't always taste like the last. Try the TNT. If they were consistent and had a drive thru I'd do 5 stars. I enjoyed spending a couple hours here. The espresso was brewed correctly, with a perfectly dry cappuccino served up by the barista. The bagel sandwich I had (Farmers) was good, too. The have free wifi and power strips, which with them being so close to a college makes sense. I already like the brand, as we have a store in Temecula I enjoy. read more

Stopped in for the 1st time and wanted to try a tea latte. The person behind the counter was really helpful. He made some good suggestions for me. I ended up getting a blend of the red rooster vanilla tea and the Yerba mate with almond milk. Nice blend of sweet creamy and smoky flavors. Delicious. Stopped in to check out the coffee shop. I've passed it many times but have never tried it. I am a regular coffee drinker and usually just stopped off at Starbucks. Over the past couple of years, I have come to love Peet's Coffee & Tea AND The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf which I now prefer over Starbucks. I also LOVE to try new coffee shops, especially cozy spots that are family owned. At Ryan Brothers Coffee, I tried an Iced Vanilla Latte. I figure it's simple enough for me to discover if I like their coffee and easy to compare with other coffee shops. First off, they have 1 size cup which (for me) was much too large. I typically order a Small/Tall at other coffee shops. The Ryan Brothers size was really big, similar to a Venti. Very generous but, much too large for me. I felt like I wasted it because I couldn't finish it. The drink was OK - nothing special about it. Actually, I felt it tasted on the bitter side. Also, I love my latte (iced or hot) to be served with foam and my drink at Ryan Brother's had none. Peet's Coffee does this very well, even on an iced drink. However, I will say that the woman who helped me behind the counter was very nice. She was friendly and answered my questions about the coffee beans they roast. I am glad I went in to try it out but, I probably wouldn't go back only because I wasn't in love with my drink. I think with coffee, it's all about your taste buds so give it a try and decide for yourself. :) read more

I get food from a restaurant a few doors down from this coffee house quite regularly, and I was hoping to make Ryan Bros. my go to place for a caffeine fix. Finally tried it out and came when it wasn't busy at all. I placed my order and noticed that while the guy who took my order helped another customer that came after me, another barista just kinda stood there and talked to her friend. A few minutes passed and there was no indication at all that she would start making my drink. The lady that ordered after me got her drink first THEN they started on mine. This is quite possibly my biggest pet peeve as a paying customer. The drink was fine but the customer service left a funny taste in my mouth. read more

I was excited to visit this independent coffee shop, especially in a town full of Starbucks. The pictures on Yelp did NOT coincide with what was inside the bakery case. I expected a full array of pastries. What I saw was Bran muffins, Banana Nut muffins, Double Chocolate Chip Muffins, cookies, and maybe brownies. Well, I and most people probably do not eat brownies and large cookies for breakfast at 8AM. I ask for Decaf drip coffee Nope. I do not know what it is about coffee shops and lack of decaf drip!!! What is wrong with you people. Not everyone wants tachycardia at 8AM. I sucked it up and ordered regular drip. It was very strong in taste and acidity and certainly increased the acid production in my stomach 45 minutes later. Also, I think the coffee was served at 160F+ because the cup sleeve was not adequate for protection. The muffin was fresh and tasty and my son enjoyed his kids hot chocolate too. By the way, I asked a staff member for a SPOON(I did not specify the the reason why but it doesn't matter). What I received was a fork. YEAH! My son cannot use a fork to drink his hot chocolate. read more

Absolutely wonderful drinks, and the baristas are always super friendly when I stop. They also have a great outdoor seating area. They recently redesigned their menu, and I got worried that they dropped some drinks. They still have them, just not all on the menu. The salted caramel white chocolate latte is fantastic. read more

Ryans Bros. is undoubtedly one of the better cafes in North county. It's not the highest end, but it's better than most of the other Starbucks styled espresso bars; so, the pros and cons tend to weigh out. The prices are a little high, but the baristas are friendly and relatively knowledgeable. The menu is simple, and they offer a number of loose leaf teas, which is nice; but, there's only one iced size which I find a little annoying. For the coffee geeks, their espresso machine is a manual hand pull, which is novel, and everything is hand tamped; so if you come durring the day, you can usually get a fair pull, but nothing mind blowing. Both the espresso machine and the grinder are brands I've never heard of (Ramillo? Resembles and Astoria or Rio). They use a Fetco dual brewer for their drip, and they also have the gravity fed coffee-by-the-cup option which has been so popular in the past few years. The beans are a private roast, and of respectable quality. They primarily use Torani syrups, which is a little dissapointing, but they also make some their own. Their pumpkin is pretty legitimite; if you're into seasonal drinks, I'd recomend it. All in all, I'd rate the coffee at three stars, the location at four, and the daytime staff at five. They're good people, and always open to requests. Given the limited options in North County, I'd say Ryans Bros is in the top five. Also check out E Street in Encinitas, and Black Rock in Oceanside (drive through only). Nice staff, clean environment, good music, decent coffee, nice location. read more

Me and my friends have been coming here for 2 years now and we have always had a good experience, but the past few times it seems as if the drinks have been inconsistent in there quality. Me and my friend both usually will get fraps here (They are usually super creamy and flavor full, you can taste the syrup, coffee ect..) but the past times I've come here it seems as if its getting worse and worse. I walked in to order and noticed that I was the only one in their (which is odd cause they usually have a line.) The 2 ladies working were chatting, eh no biggy. I ordered as always, and they chatted while making the drinks. My friend had order the Caramel Drop Frap and I ordered the Spice Chai Frap. We got them to go but by the time we were off, I realized that my frap was almost solid ice with whip cream on top. Not to mention their was barely any chai in the drink. My friends drink didn't even taste like a Carmel drop, I'm pretty sure it because the lady forgot to even use the Carmel flavor base in the drink. Her's just tasted like blended coffee with cream and a bit of caramel syrup on the sides. Their is only two girls in their that seem to know what their doing when I come in and seem to make them tasty. I hope that the service gets better and the quality does to, because I really do love their drinks. read more

This is a great coffee shop, run by great people. There is very obviously a lot of care and hard work put into the quality coffees, teas, etc. that are served here. Unlike most independent coffee shops these days who, for fear of being out coffee-shopped by the mega-corporate, unholy omnipresence of you-know-who, can be a little on the pricey and stingy side, Ryan Bros is generous and reasonable. So I just came in today around noon. I had previously visited another coffee shop which ended with a really bad first time experience. I decided to try a different one instead and I came to Ryan bros coffee shop. I heard a lot of good things about this place and wanted to try it. I walked in and the shop was very nice and sophisticated and the staff was very welcoming. I was greeted by the sweetest lady at the register. I didn't get her name however she worked today in the afternoon. When I told her about my previous experience, her response had definitely changed my mood around. Great customer service does come a long way and I definitely appreciated her kind words. I'd have to say as a first time customer, this place exceeded my expectations. Not to mention the fact that the coffee was delicious (best coffee ever in my opinion) and worth every penny. So thank you and I will definitely be back again. read more
