Quick service and good coffee. Was hungry and driving by so I thought I'd give it a try. Ordered an omelet and some hash browns but was not impressed with the hash browns. Seems like a place the locals visit often and had a cozy atmosphere. It is close to a motel 6 and I think the street is on is like a main road because there's plenty of passing by traffic. If you see this place keep on moving. You have been warned. Had my wife order me and my daughter breakfast. She got pancakes and I got the ryderz classic with a special guest in it. I didn't find the thing till I started eating my food. After I found it I told my daughter to stop eating her food as I was spitting mine out. I called them and told them what happened and they hung up on me after I was explaining what I found. So I called back again and different waitress answered explaining she had no idea what was going on. So I explained to her again and asked for a refund. She demanded that I bring the food back which I did. When I arrived to return the food a waitress greeted me with her first words being "is that it? Both meals are there?" I replied yes the one with the cockroach is the one on top. After she saw it she verified it was indeed a roach didn't apologize and gave me my money back. We came to Ryderz Restaurant for dinner after my Uncle services for his funeral. We had a party of 10. We all needed some comfort food after the emotional day. Most of us had to travel many hours by planes and car the same day. We came to the restaurant at 8:00 pm. We did not realize the restaurant closed at 9:00. The waitress was friendly and greeted us after we choose a table and sat down. She seemed ok and took each of our orders. Our orders began rolling out and I was dismayed at the appearance of the food. Three of my cousins ordered cheeseburgers, I guess they were the smart ones. I had a chicken sandwich on a roll with grilled onions and mushrooms. It appeared to be the driest sandwich I've ever seen. The roll was stale and hard and the chicken was very thin and not one bit tender. I couldn't cut the chicken with their own serrated knife. I requested some mayonnaise hoping to improve the taste but it was futile. Other family members were equally dissatisfied. My husband ordered chicken wings and said they were all dried up. My mother ordered a quesadilla, what could go wrong with that it was terrible. Unfortunately for my daughter, she ordered the ribeye steak. She requested her steak rare and it was the worst looking rib eye I'd ever seen. The steak was over-cooked and half of one side was all fat. I was glad she did not order the prawns. 2 family members ordered the fried chicken with the lumpiest mashed potatoes I've seen with no gravy. My aunt ordered gravy and it took almost 30 minutes to come to the table. Let's just say the food was terrible. Once we were ready to leave the waitress never came back to pick up our credit cards. I had to take two checks and credit cards to her. I thought I was in the Twilight Zone. We chose this restaurant because it was directly across the street from our hotel. I don't know if the cook and waitress were upset that we came in an hour before they were to close but be forewarned. Do not eat here, save your money. read more

My server Lisa was great, all the staff seemed friendly, she seemed honestly curious if my food was good and to my liking, even offered more gravy ..water glass was kept full. The place wasn't a ghost town, but about 50% full on a Monday night. Clean and well lit, decent decor with country music playing (I'd normally deduct a point for that) Some have compared it to Denny's...no. Not even close to Denny's. Clam chowder made in house was thick and flavorful. Meat loaf dinner was great. Real potatoes for the mashed...not instant. Steamed veggie medley was cooked right (real not frozen carrots, the rest was likely frozen) the brown gravy was flavorful and the homemade meatloaf...large in portion size and tasty (for meatloaf that's quite the trick). This is by far the best breakfast spot in Oakdale. They have lots of breakfast options. The chicken fried steak is my personal favorite! I crave it, it's so good! I prefer the country potatoes over the hash browns, but both are good. The service is good and the food comes fast. I've had some mistakes before and they are quick to fix! The food is inexpensive, it's way better than Denny's and Cahoots, and it tastes really good! I'm not so excited about the lunch items. Again here on a Friday to eat the prime rib. It's the only thing I come for. I bring out of towners and friends and speak good things about this but tonight it was gross. When a lady came by to ask how my dinner was I showed her that it was gross. That should have been the worst part though, but she didn't make it better she argued with me! (She was very nice...but still, I found it strange she would defend such a ugly cut of meat that was largly a piece of fat and grisle that tasted like it had been frozen, defrosted, and refrozen. The food was very good BUT we had researched restaurants on our way back from Yosemite. My friend wanted prime rib. Their special was $15.99, according to their website. When we got to the restaurant, the new menu said $21.99. Apparently that happened a frw months ago and they haven't updated the website. No manager on duty to discuss with. Daughter orders pancakes eggs and sausage links, her sausage was so dry and old it was unable to be eaten. Her eggs were so scorched and brown she also didnt eat them.. Husband ordered a 12 oz prime rib dinner and it came out less than 7 oz. Super thin and cold. You could over hear the waitress tell the cook that it wasn't a 12oz cut. He started yelling at her and told her he only had the end piece left. She did take $5 bucks off the order but by then we were done. Cant blame the waitress. Morning and lunch service is excellent. Love the food and the servers are very attentive. So needless to say we won't be going back in the evenings if that cook is still there. First of all... let's be clear... this isn't a high end place. BUT... they are friendly and service is almost always great. If something isn't good and you speak with them, they'll try to make it right. That's always appreciated in my world. The restaurant is casual and offers basic items. It's open until 10 which is unusual in this sleepy town. I prefer having breakfast there but have had good meals at other times of the day. Okay the truth is... I like the bar the best! Super friendly! Fair priced drinks that aren't watered down. The other customers are welcoming and talkative. Good tv's for watching sports and a decent selection of music. I have been coming to this restaurant for some time. the food is always good but when we came here the other day, the food was terrible. MY eggs were raw, the potatoes were burnt my biscuits were old and hars and my Linguica was cremated. The waitress asked if I would like something since I could not eat what I had ordered.
