we got the patacon "gratis" and omg the portion was huge. like easily enough for two people. super delicious and loaded with so much cheese. the plantains were crispy and the fillings were seasoned perfectly. and the green sauce? actually addictive. i kept going back for more. there are a ton of picnic tables around so it's easy to sit, chill, and eat without rushing. next to the truck there's this little venezuelan/latin convenience store inside a metal shipping-crate kind of setup. it sounds sketchy when i describe it but it's actually really cute inside and super clean. the owners seem awesome and welcoming too. overall such a good spot. i'll definitely be back. read more

My partner and I went to Sabor Venezolano as we were in the mood for something new...oh my goodness, am I sure glad that we did. The food was delicious. I ordered an Arepa con Carne Mechado y Queso and my boyfriend ordered the Mega Parilla Picada Arepa. We also both ordered drinks being the blackberry (mora) juice and mango juice. Both plates had plenty of meat (that was juicy and tender,) the arepa was moist and the drinks were extremely refreshing. It was a bit hard to order, good thing for a printed menu! No complaints on that though, to be expected with good food. If we asked for anything, it came quickly to the table. The seating was all outside, with a lot of picnic tables and lights. Have driven past this place many times so wanted to check out something new. All of the seating it outdoors and street parking is sparse (not the best idea) but they have some dedicated spots in the parking lot which is nice. The area has canopy covering for sunny days. We went to "brunch" and it was empty so seating was plentiful and service was quick. The coffee wasn't great but the food had good portions and tasted really good. I called ahead and placed an order, and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. When I arrived, I ended up waiting over 30 minutes just for six empanadas. I ordered different flavors, but none of them were labeled--they were all just thrown into a bag, making it impossible to know which was which. Wow talk about the biggest burger you've ever had! This thing was HUGE and delicious. We came here for lunch on a Monday and sat outside on some benches they had near the food truck and there was even a waitress who served you even though it was a food truck. Our waitress was so kind and even though she primary spoke Spanish we were able to communicate just fine. She was very attentive and took good care of us. The atmosphere was nice and casual. We loved sitting outside in the sunshine. We got the burger super special with several types of meat (Angus beef, chicken, cheese, egg, bacon, ham, lettuce, tomato, shredded potato crisps) and french fries. I had a doctor appointment nearby that was taking forever and decided to look at nearby places where I could grab something to go before I headed to a meeting afterwards. I ordered an arepa pabellon and tostones via menufy and got a phone call and text in Spanish to update me on my order. Unfortunately my Spanish is lacking, so I just went there to ask. Parking was a bit difficult. I ended up parking at the gas station. After a bit of issues due to a language barrier, I discovered that they were out of beef, so they substituted chicken in the arepa and it also took an extra 15 minutes. I ate the tostones in the car. They were very crispy, but lacked salt. I think I'm more used to Puerto Rican tostones, which are served with sea salt and a garlic mojo type sauce. Unfortunately, I didn't get to the arepa until later when it was not as fresh, but oh my goodness what an arepa it was. It was HUGE and freaking amazing! Every ingredient was perfectly seasoned and absolutely delicious. I can't even imagine how good it would have tasted if I had eaten it immediately. I've been coming here since they first opened and the quality of the food and the service just keeps getting better and better! I've tried most of the menu items and my personal favorite is the pabellón criollo. Spend $50 here to eat the most disappointing food ever! We got the Picadita Sabor con Tequenos, the empanadas had more dough and hardly any meat at all and the inside of the empanadas were cold.
