Excellent dinner at Sadelle's on 3/3/22. We have been to Sadelle's a number of times for brunch (also excellent) . Dinner was a more mellow experience. Brunch is a bit of a scene (a good one!) . My husband and I enjoyed the stone crab & veal dumpling appetizer, the Bronzino , roasted chicken (came with a side of mash potatoes) and Creamed spinach. The cream spinach was so good I asked what the sauce & cheese were so I could attempt to make it at home. Major food group (parent owner of Sadelle's, Carbone , ZZ clam bar ) never disappoints with there food. It is always excellent. My only complaint was the lighting. It was a bit bright inside. I would eat in the garden next time. Sadelle's also has a coffee bar for take out (coffee, homemade donuts & other pastries even ice cream) they have tables you can sit and enjoy your take out to in front of the actual garden tables. This morning - they had the worst possible hostesses - really the worst - these young people had no skills whatsoever - they had no clue what a smile is and they did not say a word when we asked to be seated - they however made sure with their attempt at attitude - that we were wasting their valuable time... Okay so first I am not one of these people that complains about food or pretty much anything at a restaurant and always waits when I have too. So first my reservation was at 2:30PM for outside seating. I got there at 2:30 and it was soo cold 44 degrees cold no one was sitting outside so they told us that we would have to wait 40 mins for a table inside since my reservation was for outside. So as we are waiting outside other parties started to get there that were seated outside and got seated right away inside and I ask the hostess how come they just got seated and we've been waiting which was prob. Already 30 mins. And they told us that they had seating that was accommodating for that party which was 4 and we were 2 which I don't understand that we both had a reservation theirs at 3 and cause they are 4 they can seat them so I say okay we were first being a restaurant owner I would have sat us first so I keep waiting an hour later still waiting and everyone is getting seated finally at 4:15 an hour and 45 minutes after reservation so they Findlay sit us, very unprofessional and rude hostesses but food was great and servers. I was just there at coconut grove. The food is excellent, can't complain. I had complained to the host to get the check for us as we had been waiting for 20 minutes without being waited when the restaurant was nearly empty. The waiter was sweet, but the service was slow. This host then made faces at us, and as we were exiting the restaurant my husband had saw that the host (the young male) mocking us for telling him the service was bad. My husband had to make a comment to him to relax. Just a side note, for a restaurant as upscale as this, charging $37 for a sandwich, the service and the standard should match. I gave a 2 star due to the disrespect from the young male host. This restaurant should teach their employees how to treat paying customers. Definitely disappointing. read more

We arrived for our reservation 10 minutes past, due to no valet and no parking and we're told our table was given away to a walk in. The manager told us it wasn't her problem there was nothing she could do, and to wait for multiple TABLES to get up (they didnt have tables large enough to accommodate us) (we were a party of 7). We had to wait over 30 minutes for our table, agitated we went to the bar for drinks. Our party was told to move from the bar. Once we were finally seated our server was very sweet, but not once did we get our water refilled even when we asked. Food was satisfactory but after the treatment we received I would never go back. I was tracking the buildout and opening of this place since I read of the closing of Tigertail & Mary and its lease to Sadelle's. Lots of hype and just a disappointment, as many places in Miami tend to be, hate to say it but I don't think it will last. I really do understand that there is a new normal with the Covid situation, I understand the difficulty in finding and training staff and so I try to be fair as I write this. The reason for the one star and not maybe a 3 is that a reservation for dinner for 2 requires a 100.00 Credit Card reserve/pre-deposit. 1. Beverages: waiter didn't know if the "Smash" drinks could be virgin. He had to ask. Said we could order any Smash drink without alcohol. Ordered a virgin beverage. He brought it. (it's filled with ice and needs a straw to drink.). asked a different server for a straw. 2. water -- good luck getting refills. the only way we EVER got refills was to get the attention of a table clearer guy. Because service/waiter was... invisible, disinterested, avoidant of customers. 4. Our waiter did not know the menu. we told him our daughter was allergic to dairy and asked to have a different vegetable; he said "there are no substitutions" -- I told him to ask the chef. He said the chicken also has butter. Fortunately there was 1 piece of branzino remaining for her to order. 5. He had to come back 2 times to tell us items we ordered were no longer available. There are very few entrees so this made it difficult. 6. Waiter NEVER returned after we ordered our food. Never. Not to ask if everything was okay; not to ask if we got everything or needed something else. Son wanted fries and we had to ask another waiter. 7. Finally got him to bring the check. Briefly, we had to correct it/send the check back THREE times to get the check corrected properly. Minimally, Sadells should have comped the beverage. Alcohol served in a "NO alcohol" request is an epic error. There was not even an apology. For the cost and reputation, Sadell's should be embarrassed at the lack of training, service, menu knowledge, food availability. Reminder: our reservation was not late night dining and they were already out of entrees. Cannot recommend coming here for dinner. And if you do come, BRING YOUR OWN WATER and don't order any drinks as non-alcohol if you're in AA. read more

You have to constantly try to flag people down to try to get any form of service and the things we ordered were missing items, like the bagel that was supposed to come with my salmon but just never arrived despite requesting it four times. The only staff member who seemed to be at all attentive was the manager. Additionally, the food just doesn't measure up to the New York location. The salmon is flavorless and the bagels are stale. They were also out of latkes. What's the hype? Finally decided to try this place out with my siblings and nephews and was so very disappointed. After being told our wait would be 25-30 minutes we waited an hour to be seated (should have taken this as a sign). Had I not asked the hostess about our table, it may have been even longer. When we were finally seated we placed our orders and waited about an hour to have our appetizer (crispy latkes) to be brought out and then about another 40 minutes for our meals to be brought out. Once the meals made it to the table (with one missing), it was just even more downhill from there. The poached egg came out cold and hard and had to be returned, the missing meal came out and was all wrong and had to be sent back, and then, if one thought it couldn't get any worse, the replacement for the poached egg was MIA. Finally we asked to just forget about the poached egg meal and bring out a toasted bagel...the waitress was very apologetic and advised she had discussed all the issues with the manager. About 15 minutes later, the toasted bagel was still not brought out and we ended up just asking for the check and left. Honestly worst experience ever (after almost a $200 bill for an awful experience) and even more disappointing is that the manager never addressed the problem nor came to apologize. After hearing some criticism and seeing the reviews on Yelp, I hesitated to dine here. Something seemed off though as Sadelle's is legendary so I gave it a try. We had dinner on a Saturday and they weren't that busy. The first surprise was that the menu was much better than what was available online or on Yelp. We enjoyed various appetizers and entrees. They included the caviar service, veal dumplings, tuna crudo and pigs in a blanket. All were delicious. The best one was the dumplings in a gravy like sauce that just made the dish. The pigs in a blanket were an elevated expression of the traditional comfort food dish. The caviar was good and all the accompaniments were spot on including latkes, blinis and delicious little pieces of rye toast. For entrees we enjoyed the chicken schnitzel, branzino and herb roasted chicken. All were spot on. For dessert we had the Sadelle's sundae and it was just pure decadence. We had a great waiter who was super friendly and attentive, but it's clear they need more support and more training. There were some forgivable lapses but it seems to me they just opened too soon without the training and infrastructure in place to operate effectively. I hope they get it all together before it's too late to recover. I'll definitely be back. read more

How can I leave more stars??? 20/20!! Wow, Miami really needed this! My new favorite breakfast spot. OBSESSED! To begin, the design and decor of this place is like none other i've seen in Miami. They also have the cutest little coffee shop where you can get coffees to go and pastries. We started off with the salmon and bagels which came as a tower with cucumber, capers, tomatoes and freshly housemade bagels. ( BEST BAGELS IVE HAD!) My husband had the fried chicken sandwich, its his favorite. My daughter had the pigs in a blanket, such a great choice for kids with a fruit bowl, she ate it all. My best friend and I had dinner at Sadelle's last night (Wednesday night) and it was one of our best girls night dinners out yet! I will start by saying the ambiance, decor, and overall aesthetic of the restaurant is beautiful so perfect for girls night. We did not have to wait to be seated at all and did not have reservations. Our waiter was great! He was friendly, quick, and he helped us choose a great bottle of wine. FYI - Most (if not all) the wines are French wines. We ordered the Tuna Tartare (Delicious), the Salmon Toro (Amazing!) the Brie and Honey (minus walnut) Pizza and it was perfect. The pizza tasted just like brie and honey which we love so make sure you like brie cheese. The star of the show however, was the Caviar Service! We ordered the Caviar and it was perfectly presented, it was a huge amount and had a fair price MP for the amount we got (more or less $195) I've paid that much for the smaller tins. All and all I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would be back for sure! We ended up taking home the pizza so next time we may go without it just because it was a lot of food but if you go with a large group it's perfect!
