Despite having up signs for "No Soliciting" and "No Trespassing" a uniformed representative from this company decided they would repeatedly knock at our door in an attempt to sell us their services. Furthermore, they did not wear a mask and stayed close to the door avoiding any attempt at social distancing. They attempted to use peer pressure and a "discount" to try and get us to sign up for their services on the spot. After further ongoing terrible customer service with the customer service team I was finally transferred to a commercial manager who listened and understood the issues and took the time to make things right for me. While the experience as a whole was terrible this one individual gave me hope the company is trying to turn their customer experience around. I signed up to have mice removed from my home. They charged me $450.00 plus $129.00 a month x 8 months. I found out it was a raccoon and her babies under my house making all of that noise. I called to cancel the mouse contract and Saela said I had to pay half of the 8 months (another $515 on top of the $450. So I am paying $965.00 for nothing. There are no mice and all they did was put out mouse traps ( a total of 4) and come to my house twice, They are a rip off. Don't use them unless you just want to throw your money away! Was approached by this company in the middle of a busy workday before mask restrictions were rolled back and not expecting a solicitation. The sales rep was extremely pushy and used the same tactics I'm now seeing others experienced including: 1. Saying someone was already here today to to the work and prices would go way up if they didn't combine with other neighbors to do the work today 2. Offering the per treatment price of $159 but when I stated i didnt' want to decide then saying they could offer a one time deal for first service of only $90 to get me to try it. I asked for time to obtain and review other quotes. Something most reasonable people would do and was still pushed very hard to sign. 3. Listed off names of "neighbors" who had signed up which almost all turned out to be a lie. 4. Told me the product was Eco-concious and pet friendly which i later found out to be untrue. 5. I specifically asked the person if there was any issues cancelling if I didn't want them to come out anymore and he specifically said that there was no early termination fees..that is not the case. 6. A neighbor was also doused with product while they were working on someone's house and when commented to the company they said he "could drink the product and be fine". The next day birds that were nesting in his yard ended up dead. I was caught on a very busy and stressful work day and to get them to go away fell for the pressure tactics. DO NOT TRUST EDGE & READ EVERYTHING THEY WANT YOU TO SIGN IN DETAIL. I called Edge about pest control services in Spring 2017. They said they had a "special" running if I signed up for one year of service and that was $79.99 for my first service and $149.99 for every quarter after that. I decided to move forward. My issues with them are two-fold - their product does not work and they scam you into signing a longer term agreement when you don't think you need to look at small print on a tiny iPhone 6 a service man is handing you to initial and sign on when they are in your house. After all but one of the services, I had to have them come back and treat again because they did such a poor job. I was fed up the after we had finished 4 quarterly services (1 year) and called to say I didn't want to continue. They said I had signed a contract for 9 services. I know I never would have and that is not what I agreed to on the phone. The customer service manager told me they record all calls and he would find the recording of my call to find out if the conversation occurred the way I recalled it. He called me two days later to say they had been switching recording services at that time and no record of my call occurred (conveniently). Also, he would not let me out of my contract. He told me I had one more service. I let them do one more service and, again, they had to come back TWICE more because it was like their product made NO difference. I was happy that would be my last time having to waste money and time with them. Last month we received a letter from the company saying that they have learned some customers never received their contracts and they included the contract they say we "signed." it has my initials I put into the iPhone during the first service appointment. These people seemed trustworthy and I never imagined I should have demanded they print something off for me to read first. This is a very shady practice. Today I called because I noticed they had another upcoming service in October scheduled.They said I still owed 4 more services. What?! No. I cannot waste time and money with them for one more year. I just really hope people stop signing up with them so they stop being able to take advantage of people. read more

This company redid my crawl space. I wanted to claim it on my home owner's insurance. It had been a few months since they did the work. I was promised a detailed email explaining all the work needed and why. I was never given this information (because the man responsible didn't do his job). I spent 6 weeks trying to get someone to help. I was constantly told a manager would contact me within 24 hours. That never happened. When I finally called to cancel all future services, I was immediately put through to a manager. His only goal was to keep me on my 2 year contract. In the end I wasn't able to file a claim with my insurance. The Portland manager was rude and I was given conflicting information as to why they couldn't provide the needed information. Many of my neighbors are dissatisfied with this company as well and we have paid the cancellation fee just to get free of this company. read more

Ugh. I wish I would have read these comments before I "signed" the infamous contract. I take full responsibility for signing their contract and not fully realizing what I was signing up for (ie. you can't cancel pretty much), but I caution anyone to do the same. Why didn't I fully read it? I was desperate to find someone to help us with a rat. I had called multiple places, but they were the only ones that could come out. And so I just signed up for whatever. Get rid of bugs too. Sure sounds great. The first person to come out saw the rat, but went back to the car to get traps. No surprise when they came back the rat was long gone. That was the last we saw of the rat, even though we heard it nightly chewing on who knows what. Every technician that came out was nice, but they failed to EVER solve the problem. It was like their guess was as good as mine. The rats went nowhere near the traps. And the only hole they filled didn't seem to be the root cause, because we heard that rat continuously after. Finally, I sealed up a hole I caught (and pointed out but was told it was no big deal) and we didn't hear the rat again. Was it the hole I patched myself that fixed it? Probably not, but it definitely wasn't their traps or their help. So now the rat is gone, but we're on the hook for at least a year for bug service. Again, I didn't care about bugs, I just wanted the rat, but at the time I felt like, sure why not. So every quarter someone came out to spray something they said was non-toxic to kids and animals. It seemed like maybe it was also non-toxic to bugs, because it never seemed to stop them. We still had the same amount of big spiders, ants, and silverfish. I didn't bother to call and get this remedied because I didn't want to pay for anything else. But I also couldn't cancel the servce because "the contract". Now we are moving, which was unexpected. And I HAVE to cancel the contract. I was offered to hand it off to someone else, but honestly, I just want to be rid of this service and wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know. Now it's the hoop of actually getting through to them. I sat on the phone for at least 30-40 minutes today listening to their elevator music. The person who helped me was very nice, not pushy at all. But I am definitely disappointed in the service, and the lack of mitigating any pests, and feeling like all they care about is getting that year contract and then it doesn't really matter after that. I have had them under contract for over 2 years now for my home for monthly service. In the pacific northwest EVERYONE has a sugar ant problem [I had no idea I'm from the Midwest]. So that was my first issue [every spring and fall apparently this is what we deal with]. The second was the mysterious case of the wasps in my front window. No one could find them [inside or out-top floor or bottom-ground level or below]. Saela came out, sprayed everywhere inside and out, sealed a pipe hole under my kitchen sink, and what went from 3 wasps in my window a day quickly to NONE. We never found a hive we never knew where they came from but they were GONE and that's all that mattered to me. After my contract was up I called them for a new one and they offered me another great deal. I've had NOTHING but great service and interactions and respectful service people from these folks. Their pricing is also competitive if you shop around. And they come every month rain or shine they never miss an appointment. They always call before they come and I do not need to be here but I ALWAYS know when they are coming-there are ZERO surprises with this company and let me tell you-in todays service industry? RARE. Absolutely ridiculous experice with this company. Used to have this service but felt like it wasn't making much of a difference, so we cancelled. Got a phone call in August with an offer for $79 first time service. So I agreed. Had an appointment for 4-8. Guy calls me at 12:40, asks to come early, I say no, he goes, "I guess I'll take a 3 hour lunch then" . Ok.....then he calls back 15 minutes later, offering to spray outside and for me to call back for a reservice for the inside. Ummm, no. More guilt trip and bitching about his 3 hour lunch. I call and get a different tech. That service was on August 31. I wake up today and have a text from 20 minutes prior that the tech was here and sprayed and "Sorry, couldn't get one of your gates to lock". Ummm excuse me?? You gave me zero notice, entered my back yard in a way I would not have allowed and charged me $149. I call them, lots of excuses. "Oh we normally email and text you 2 days prior. I see that you weren't sent an email or text, not sure why". Would not give me even a partial refund for a service I did not authorize. Tried to say they have to spray 4 weeks after the inital service. It's only been 3 and you came over with 20 minutes notice. "Oh well, it's more of a 2 weeks window for reservice". Which is it?? I agreed to something over the phone and she starts to tell me in the contract they're allowed entry any time, etc. I did not get a contract or the full version of it read to me over the phone. So many red flags. They want to get your credit card as fast as they can. They try to rope you into a multi-year contract. You can't respond to the emails they send you, you have to use their online chat. But their online chat immediately disconnects as soon as you mention that you're trying to cancel. Although we have worked with Edge for 2 years, the serive has become less and less accpetable, and finally reached a breaking point. We have canceled the service. We have worked with Edge for pest control for the last two years. In the beginning the service was excellent, with effective insect control bth inside and outside our house. They even got rid of wasp hives under our deck and under a bush at the front door. However, after the first two treatments, a different service person came each time, most often arriving with no advance notice. we had to reexplain to each person what we needed treated. We began to see pests reappear both inside and out, and became less and less satisfied with the service. With the onset of the Covid 19 pandemic, service became much less reliable. Recently (1/4/21), we requested postponing having the service for 12 weeks due to not wanting service agents at our home, even outside the home. Upon talking with a service rep on the phone, they refused to postpone, and said it was critical to have the treatment every 12 weeks without interuption. We repeatedly siad we did not want the service call, but the rep kept objecting and saying we needed it. We said we wanted to cancel. We were put on hold, and we hung up. Several minutes later the rep called back and said we could solve the problem by signing a new contract and starting over. We said "no" and hung up! We did receive a followup email stateing the service was canceled and there was a $0 balance on the account. read more

This company called me within 30s of reaching out via Angie's List and then the sales person spent 13 minutes telling me about the process and then requesting a credit card. I got a confirmation email and then decided to look at Yelp reviews and based upon what I'm reading, I don't want to give them my business (too pushy) and so I responded to the email to find it was sent from an email to which you can't reply. So I had to call.. and placed on hold and then someone called me back. Then they tried to keep me on after I told them repeatedly I just wanted to cancel. This company is a joke. The punchline is that you pay for them to come over to your house to place the exact same traps you can buy at wal-mart. With roughly the same expertise you, the homeowner can glean from fifteen minutes on google. Their techs don't seem to care about taking care of pest problems. Instead of going into the crawlspace (where the rats are, I know because I've heard them), they seem more interested in poisoning squirrels with bait traps placed out by our shed. We've been making the mistake of using them for two months. In that time they have caught precisely ZERO rats, and instead offer nothing but excuses. This company has been a disappointment to say in the least. As a registered nurse, I worry about pests and the diseases they carry. Insects and spider bites can be nasty and require extensive mtreatment. Not only is the treatment that Edge provides ineffective, but the customer service is inconsistent and unprofessional. I am still finding spiders and ants after multiple service calls. When I have tried to cancel, it has proven to be impossible. You are forced to pay for ineffective service calls and spray treatment of your property and home over and over even when you voice your dissatisfaction. I tried to cancel the upcoming service calls that we were roped into, my attempts were futile and I was told that in essence, I was going to have to pay for "one more treatment" to fulfill our agreement. The manager who took my call told us that our next service would be "discounted" and a supervisor would come out after my first complaint and attempt to cancel. No supervisor or follow up whatsoever even after I found this HUGE spider!! Then, much to my dismay, I received notice that they would be coming out Again!! Each time is $100 for Nothing!!! You really don't want to deal with these folks. They use predatory business practices like bogus guarantees (which can only be secured by buying more of their services) and cancellation fees (again, for services you never wanted in the first place). Obviously they are quite used to complaints, as I had a long conversation with "Dane", who clearly had considerable experience arguing with unhappy customers about their business practices. Strongly urge anyone to avoid this company. UPDATE: Edge did indeed reach out in an attempt to find a resolution to this dispute, which I appreciated. It appears they do care about these reviews and have a dedicated department to handle these sorts of situations staffed with folksmuch better at listening than their regular "customer services" reps. We agreed that I would forgo the guarantee, and pay the differences between discounted (with contract) and non-discounted services. I still maintain that Edge's use of "bundled" services is not what I would do if I were running this business (I have one of my own); it's just not straightforward, and I imagine they field a lot of avoidable complaints as as a result. We've been with Edge for about 8 months, now. When you sign up, make sure you understand you are signing a 2-year contract. Understand how much they charge each time they visit, and understand when they will charge you. It's not intuitive, but the representative was extremely clear with me when I signed up. This is the part that seems to piss off a lot of people. They don't pay attention, or perhaps they talk with irresponsible or unclear reps. Then, there's the service. It's really quite good. I contracted them initially, because we had a huge ant problem. All over the kitchen in multiple different lines, going from multiple different places to multiple different places. They visited once, put gel in a few places, and the ants were all gone the next day. Extremely effective. The ants haven't come back, and it's been over half a year. The reps who come out to see us every quarter are remarkably friendly people. Small talk, smiles, really casual. They explain the treatment they plan for the day (including how it kills the pests, which is a nice way to make sure I'm okay with it). Afterward, they ask if there are any other problems they should address. They also come out in between quarterly services for free, if any problems arise between services. You get an automated call 2-3 days before each quarterly visit to tell you at what time and on what day they plan to visit. At that point, you can reschedule if you want. The rep will also call on the day of the service (if they have to enter your residence) about 30 minutes to an hour in advance, presumably to make sure you're ready to let them in. Very happy with this company. Ants are gone. If the spiders get randy this September, I plan to bring that up on our next call. read more

I immediacy canceled my service and asked for a refund for just the last service and they are refusing to do so. I will preface this by saying we live in the Fanno Creek area. There are rats here. We started the service because one of our neighbors was having an issue. We had seen two rats in our back yard at this point and wanted to bring in professionals. Bait stations were put out and the problem was under control. Fast forward a year and I can tell we have rat activity under our deck. Aside from the holes, my dogs go crazy sniffing them out at night. Edge came out to "service" and without consulting us REMOVED the bait stations. The very next day we saw a rat where the old bait station was. I called the office (which takes forever by the way) and asked why this happened and asked for out bait stations back. We were first told because we had not had any activity that we were put on a "maintenance" plan. When I pushed further they said they are no longer allowed to use poison in the bait boxes. I asked to cancel my service. The person on the phone asked if they could send a tech out to replace the bait boxes with traps the next day. They assured me these trap boxes could trap and collect up to 10 rats and they are as effective as the bait stations. Long story short it obviously didnt work. When my husband checked the trap boxes himself the SINGLE snap trap in each box had been triggered and no rats were trapped. We were forced to hire another company who does use poison bait boxes. We hired another company to go down in the crawl space. We have been suspicious of activity down there. Sure enough the musty smell is not that of a couple dead rats, rather rat pee in our insulation as they are nesting down there. BOTTOM LINE:DO NOT USE EDGE PEST CONTROL I spent $2,460.00 for services in less than 2 years. It will cost me more than that to clean up their mess! read more

Take note: Oregon Law says if you say "No thank you" to a solicitor and they don't immediately leave, they are in violation of the State Law. Also, in many cities throughout Oregon, if you have a No Soliciting sign posted, a solicitor is in violation of the law if they knock on his door. Look it up. They have blatantly ignored our No Soliciting sign, and that of my neighbors, multiple times, and when we say "No, Thank You", they try and argue or stand there and ask us "why" with an aggressive attitude. They also use the "your neighbor uses us" as an excuse to ignore the No Soliciting sign. Ridiculous. Next time you are in our neighborhood, Edge Pest Control, we will call the police. And every time. To Management: I've noticed lots of apologies for the one star reviews and wanting to correct the problems. But people have been complaining about the same thing for months, so the behavior is not being corrected. I was in the market to have a safe pest control treat our home. Well this company had an employee in the neighborhood ask if I was interested and I was! Chris was very nice and went over everything clearly. He made it clear that it was a contract for 1 year, as it should be because 1 treatment isn't going to keep the bugs away it's a process! I asked if someone could come back the next day to treat our place, and he said it wasn't a problem. So I get a call from Hayden saying he's on his way in the time frame I was given. He showed up, was polite and professional and did all of the web removal from spiders and took care of our bee problem. A man walks past my window on my porch looking into my house, rings my doorbell and says, "I know your busy doing homework with your kids, but your neighbors down the street have said they have seen these bugs." And refers to his little script tool with big ugly spiders and ants etc. I shut him down and say it's 8 o'clock at night and I have a NO SOLICITING sign right here next to my doorbell that you just rang. He proceeds to argue with me that he's not soliciting, but offering a free inspection. "No, you're soliciting your business and services to me and it's 8 PM and I'd appreciate it if you LEAVE!" Then onto my county commission for a letter of cancelation, then onto my State Representative, up to my Congressman. Shit, I hope I don't have to ask for a letter from a joint task force on special cancelation committee hearings but that's apparently where we are headed. To start the company it self seems reliable and prices are decent if you are the first on your block to get them. Beware of their sales men that walk around new neighborhoods and talk them into the 2 year contract saying that your neighbor's all got the service and we will give you a discount if you sign the same day as them. They talked to one neighbor and they were quoted almost $50 less then us. They will lie straight to your face. And they quoted everyone different prices by the time they were done with our neighborhood. All of the homes are similar maybe vareying by only 200sq ft! I would personally no go through their sales men. Go through them directly. Wow! Eight 5 star reviews that are hidden only one 1 star review showing? So unfair! Yelp, you never cease to amaze me. I am an actual client of Edge Pest Control and have been since this past summer. They are fantastic! Not only are they polite and courteous, but they go above and beyond to get the bugs out. When I first signed up with them this past summer, I told the technician about the 2 bees nests that were growing by the day on the second level of our house. Not only did he take care of those, but he also found 6 or 7 more that I wasn't aware of. I haven't seen a spider since we've been using them. We have had some problems with ants and Edge has had to come back several times to deal with those. The last time, the technician actually went into our crawl space to battle the ants! The sold us a contract you cant cancel without a 50% termination fee! Also the totally wrongly identified the pests digging holes in our yard - said they were voles (which leave underground tunnels - which we had none). We have squirrels digging holes and burring nuts! Totally incompetent! And then the tech left gate open so our dog could get out! Horrible! read more

Don't ever get trap with this company. I did not know that there was a contract. When I am not working and need to cancel the service they said it was a cancel fee of over 300.00. I thought it was month by month those sale people knock on your door don't buy anything from them it's a trap. If you need pet control sign up with Barrier they are better month to month no contract you can cancel any time. Do not sign up with this edge company. Bad service anyway still have bugs in the house after they come and service it. read more
